I usually don't write reviews, but after yesterday I knew that it was important that I did. Unleashed Spa, is exactly that, because my dogs always come out looking like they actually spent hours at the beauty spa aka the beauty parlor: nails trimmed, teeth brushed, hair groomed and styled, and smelling awesome. But it doesn't stop there, because our dogs groomer Shannon, rocks out their grooming each time with her special touch of love and dedication for what she does. Shannon is everything I have been looking for in a groomer, especially with two dogs: Sunkist and Parker, who both suffer with severe anxiety, and one of my dogs, Sunkist, who is allergic to everything under the sun. Shannon is extremely patient, kind, and listens to exactly what type of grooming my dogs needs. On top of that, Shannon is honest and upfront, and caring about their individual grooming needs, and I can't be more appreciative of it. I hope that Unleashed Spa knows that Shannon , is truly their rock star!! So if anyone is looking for a great groomer, head on over to Unleashed Spa, and ask for Shannon. Let Shannon know that Parker and Sunkist, gave her a four paws up review ; ). From: Jason, Parker and Sunkist's Dad read more

LOVE .. LOVE Unleashed Spa Since bringing my Dutchess here I have the best looking groomed dog...LOL My prior groomer was not very friendly and my Dutchess would come back scared and will not eat for a couple of days after the visit. Since bringing her to Unleashed Spa it been a total opposite well groomed , happy and has not lost her appetite. The staff is AWESOME from the time you call all the way thru pickup. THANK YOU SO MUCH... ALL YOU GUYS ROCK !!! read more

Couldn't have been more happy with the results. My pup hasn't gotten groomed professionally many times, his behavior can be very difficult. I was so pleased that they took good care of him and groomed him so well despite that. They were so patient and he looked very handsome. Thank you Mariann! read more

Dana did the impossible today: she groomed my almost seventeen year old difficult dog Frankie. What a wonderful resource this is! I'll be back here for sure. Not only is this a full service establishment, but they are extremely careful with measures for COVID. Thanks to Kim too for helping me enable this heretofore impossible task. I am so grateful to Unleashed Spa and its fantastic staff! read more

I'm a helicopter dog Mom so I was a little nervous about leaving Tux here for an hour, but he was way overdue for a trim. Ranisha(sp?) was amazing and assured me everything would be ok. She listened to what I wanted and was very calm. Great vibes all around. I've tried many groomers in the city and Brooklyn and none of them make me feel as comfortable as she did and none of them do half as good a job. The prices here are very fair for the city. LOVE her and love the place. Will definitely be a loyal Unleashed customer. read more

Self Service Dog Washes are few and far between in NYC, and this is the only one in lower Manhattan. I love to wash my dog, brings us closer and at $25 I can also bring my favorite doodle detangler along with. Great store, easy set-up, and lots of wonderful professional groomers. I watched how they cared for all the pups around me, and not only were they happy they looked amazing post grooming. So if you want to wash your pup, or find a great groomer, this place is wonderful. read more

Just okay. Not the grooming I thought it would be. I've taken my little dog to other places outside the city and they're much better. We were surprised how expensive this place is. We felt the groomers did not know how to cut hair/ fur like other places we've taken our dog. My dogs coat is completely uneven. Shampoo was okay. Two stars for a nail trim. $100 plus dollars for...? Insert poop emoji... Needless to say, I won't be returning or recommending! read more

These people are such a godsend. As someone who's pup has been sent home from other groomers with an admonishment for being "naughty," can't even begin to say how much I appreciate the friendly and patient team at Unleashed. They can usually accommodate last minute (even day-of) appointments and always take the time to make sure they're getting it right when it comes to your pup's groom. You get to meet and chat with your pet's designated groomed before you leave. They are efficient, and give you a friendly call when your pup is done. And if you're running behind for pickup they're glad to give your pup some TLC. Also, every dog comes home with a cute seasonal bandana. Worth every penny at this place! read more

It's been 4 years since we started coming here for the grooming service and we love it here so much. We usually have Han but we tried out Samantha since she was available and she was amazing as well! I'm so glad they're open again ever since the pandemic. Han and Samantha did such great job with my pup every time. It's a bonus as well to support local small businesses :) read more

Fantastic service. Although I'm in the UES, I needed services for my cat and it was the only place open on Sunday. They were quick (1 hour turnaround) and were easy to communicate with. Love how you can see everything going on too. Though a bit pricy I would def be coming back read more

The last two times I've taken my other baby, Puffy, to Unleashed, she was groomed by Marco. He did an AWESOME job on my extremely matted Maltipoo! I've gotta give him mad props as my hubby and I have attempted to groom her on our own and she is so fidgety! So for him to turn her out and make her look BEAUTIFUL is truly a gift! Thanks so much, Unleashed! We highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a trusted groomer. read more

This was my first time getting my long haired cat shaved for the summer and I was apprehensive about it. The team at Unleashed, especially Ashley the groomer, made me feel comfortable leaving him with them. Ashley did a fantastic job - his cut is exactly what I was hoping for. This wasn't cheap ($120 plus tax and tip), but it was worth that for the peace of mind and end result. read more

I had been looking for a good dog groomer with reasonable prices for a while now and was having a hard time. I came across Unleashed and am SO glad I did. I was able to book same day too. Dana was the groomer for my Yorkie and she immediately asked what I was looking for and was honest about how he would turn out (since his hair grew a different way). I came to pick him up, he was super happy and soo cute! I was so happy with the results. Everything came out perfect from his paw pads to his ears to his cut. Loooove this place. My dog (Harper) is such a DIVA PRINCESS with a big attitude. Unleashed takes great care of her. We have now been here 2x and I will never go anywhere else in NYC. Harper's a small (9lb) Pomeranian. She's very scared of being groomed and typically hates other dogs (aka barks furiously at them unless told to "BE QUIET" by me). Here - she feels at home! When I drop her off, she is totally fine leaving with her groomer, when usually she has separation anxiety from me. When I pick her up, she is calm and quiet. Oh, and she looks AMAZING. They take direction very well - I always like her just cleaned up in the back, toe nails clipped, and tail untouched. 2-3 hours later, she looks perfect and just as I directed!! :) (I have had bad experiences at other places where they cut her tail to look like a triangle. It was horrible - would never happen here). For $70 this is also a price-performer given it's an NYC dog spa. That gets you the whole shabang for your pup. OMG ALSO I LOVE THE LTTLE BANDANA THEY GIVE HER ON THE WAY OUT. It's such a nice touch! For more on Harper you can always follow her on instagram @missesharp ;) read more

Oh perfect. Just perfect. My Samoyed, Zooey Dogschanel, had recently shed her entire winter coat. We had brushed grocery bags of hair off of her. To top it off, she smelled a bit bad and her nails were getting long. We come to this lovely place who accepted us on short notice (maybe 90 minutes). They listened to our demands - never cut her fur EXCEPT the sanitary trim and oh fine you can trim the fur under her paws and maybe on top but that's all... don't ever kennel dry her. They were understanding and explained their prices. They said that a "de shedding" is $25 extra and will take longer but remove all the dead fur that brush alone did not touch. We agree and come back 3 hours later to a gorgeous sight. Such a perfectly groomed Samoyed after losing all that hair! She's still beautiful and it's been a couple weeks. They showed us (by request) funny pictures of how small Zooey really is when she is wet and a video of the de shedding that had so much white fur blowing around that it looked like snow. I won't be going anywhere else. read more

My Persian cat developed some mats that ended up being unfixable on my end. I found unleashed by seeing who would even take a cat in for grooming. From the quick response by the owner to the welcoming greeter and groomer - nothing but the best things! They even called me an hour into the grooming explaining my baby would be better off being shaved before executing without telling me. Now I have a go to place so when her hair does grow back, she's forever beautiful and taken care of! Great experience! They even topped it off with a holiday scarf. read more

I can't begin to express how happy I am with my overall experience with Unleashed Spa! I love it. I called at about 12:30 the day I needed the appt, & they were about to accommodate me the same day! When I dropped off my dog, the groomer & owner both greeted me & explained to me about my dogs fine hair. They were great! The first time I took my dog to get groomed Chloe was really upset, she acted like she didn't know me for a whole day, and was peeing everywhere in my apartment! ( this wasn't at unleashed it was at another groomer) This time was her second time getting groomed and she was actually excited to see me. I feel in love the way she looked. read more

This doggie spa deserves all the praise they receive. We took our 13 yo Havanese rescue for his full service grooming. I used to bring my Mimi once a month to Unleashed Pre 2020 covid. I was saddened when I found out Han was no longer working on the weekends. So I have been grooming her myself at home. Not that I don't trust the other workers there. It's just my dog is very difficult/scared and on top of that, very fragile at 5lbs so I would just do her myself. Now that I'm working from home I'm able to come during the week. I knew Han was still working there because he also grooms my friends dog Luna Bear. When I went to pick her up she looked so good and I can tell she feels better without all the access hair with the hot weather approaching. Thanks again : ) read more

It's warming up and my dog definitely needed a summer cut... I've been trimming his paws and feathers myself since I got him, but it was time to get him a proper groom since his fur gets long and thick so even though he's a chihuahua he gets hot. Han did exactly what I asked for (natural shape, no buzz or poofs, just even him out/lighten him up and leave the tail long) and was very gentle with my skittish little boy. He seemed calm when I picked him up and his thinned out coat is shiny and silky and smells great! read more

Since my first review, Lola has been back to Unleashed about a dozen times. She has always received great cuts that are season appropriate. For the most part, she has had her hair done by Renisha, or Han on occasion, and they are both really sweet people. They treat her like a little queen. Not only does she get a great cut, but she always smells ahhhhmazing. I'm not exactly sure if it is the shampoo they use or something else, but it is absolutely divine. Her coat is always super white, which helps her little black spots stand out. The best part has to be on the walk home, I can tell Lola is so happy with how she looks, there is always an extra bounce in her step and she loves showing off her new 'do. I'm not sure how they work their magic, but she always looks great for at least a month, which makes this place a great value, too. read more

The groomer who I took my puppy to for her first groom was busy until closer to the end of June and I needed to get my puppy shaved down as she was unable to be groomed during a 6 week recovery and mats easily without daily brushing, so after 6 weeks her hair was matted to the point where it was better to shave her down and start over. Seeing her constantly itching and biting at her mats I knew she was suffering and something had to be done. My puppy is also more reactive than normal as she is still restricted from activity and is a super energetic puppy! Thanks to yelp, I came across Unleashed Spa and reading so many positive reviews I decided to give them a shot. I spoke to Kim and explained to her my situation and she assured me that my puppy would be in good hands, and she could accommodate me the very next day and to come early so my puppy wouldn't be too over stimulated. This morning my puppy and I headed over and we were greeted by Kim and Shannon, my puppy's groomer. I had a pretty detailed chat with Kim and Shannon and we talked through what needed to be done for my puppy. She said it would be 2-3 hours and that they would call me when she's done. The nice thing is that the grooming stations are behind floor to ceiling glass so you can see and hear everything that's going on. Shannon took my puppy to the back and my puppy was at ease as she started to get groomed. While there wasn't seating inside to watch, I saw a few seats outside that I could have sat and watched, but opted to sit at this awesome coffee shop down the street while I waited for the call. A little after 2 hours I got the call that my puppy was done and when I went to go get her, my puppy was tucked away in a crate but Shannon harnessed and leashed her up and brought her out to me. My puppy looked completely different without her fluff, and the bandana was an adorable touch. My puppy didn't appear to be too stressed and greeted me as she always has when I pick her up from anywhere, super happy to see me! Since my puppy has to deal with this for the rest of her life I'm glad I was able to find a groomer that did a great job and I look forward to bringing my puppy back to see Shannon again! read more

First time trying this place out and I LOVE it!!! I will definitely be a regular here for my dogs. I was trying to find a groomer and once I called here they were open for appointments at almost any time I requested. Which surprised since it was Sunday and such short notice! Staff was great, the groomers were really attentive and asked what style I preferred. Both my dogs (Chip & Frankie) came out looking great. Prices are decent, $75 each dog. I have a Shih Tzu and Havanese both under 11lbs. It took about two and a half hours until they were ready, which didn't bother me since there are many places to chill and hang out. read more

The first two times my sister brought her dog Molly here, they did an excellent job. This would have been Molly third visit to this groomer however less than 30 minutes they called and told my sister they were not be able to cut Molly hair because she was very agitated and perhaps should be sedated prior to grooming.. I was able to find another groomer who did a fabulous job and no sedation was needed. read more
