A cute little pet shop in New London. Lots of treats, toys, clothes, you name it. Everything you might need for your furry friend.

I'll reiterate, that right from the start, your employee is not telling you the truth. See below,…read moreand read the edited reply to the owner: The woman with dark purple hair working in the bird room on 4/11 was very rude and off-putting. She needs to learn to speak respectfully, and not have an attitude or speak to someone with "I not going to say anything," and give an expression of 'you're irritating me.' Her whole demeanor was condescending and with 'I'm Queen of the Nile,' disposition. When someone says, "I think I made a friend," when talking about one of the birds who she permitted to step up into my hand and the bird let me stroke it behind its neck, you do not give a disgusted expression when questioned why she was giving that look, and you don't respond with, "I'm not going to say anything." Beyond rude. She needs a good talking too about customer service and how to talk to people more nicely. Edit:: First and foremost, I asked for permission. I didn't stick my hands unnounced in on my own free will concerning the conure enclosure. I asked, "Would it be okay if I tried--" Your employee said, "That's the only bird (conure) that will probably let you handle it." Her choice of words strongly implied that the other birds were unfriendly, which is not true of the Senegal. She did not explicitly state, "Do not touch any other birds," despite your sign. At this point, our employees had the authority to ask me to leave the bird room. Not only did she fail to do that, but she also permitted me to continue holding the bird. Your employee needs to improve her communication skills. As someone on the autism spectrum, I require specific, direct instructions to understand what is permitted. She did not provide that clarity. Her comment about the concur being the only bird likely to allow handling suggested to me that I might try interacting with another hookbill, with the caveat, "Don't be disappointed if you get the same results." This misunderstanding arose solely from her failure to communicate effectively. A simple statement such as, "I'm sorry, but only employees can handle any of the birds unless someone is very interested in adopting one," would have sufficed when I inquired about handling a conure. Her inability to communicate is not my responsibility--it's your employee's oversight and a failure to train your staff to engage with customers in a friendly and informative manner. Furthermore, she did not explicitly instruct me with the words, "Do not touch any other birds," despite your signage. If she claims she did, then I regret to say she is being disingenuous to protect herself, which is common behavior to avoid accountability. I have visited your establishment multiple times, and in the past, your employees had no issues with me handling your birds, regardless of what the signs stated. This inconsistency has led to my misunderstanding of your current policy. Your employee should have approached the situation in a much more welcoming and helpful manner. She didn't even bother to greet me when I arrived with my advocate, instead acting as if she detested her job and did not want to be there. About the sanitation station and the sink: I asked if there was anywhere I could sterilize my hands because birds are highly likely to carry salmonella. Your employee said you did not have anywhere for me to sterilize my hands, not even a mention of rubbing alcohol you pump from a dispenser, which is mind-boggling especially since you own a pet store. I'm sorry my wanting to prevent the risk of procuring the possibility of salmonella was such a problem and put you out so much that you dared to mention it. Your business and in the manner which you manage it and your staff are a joke.

These guys are amazing - very knowledgeable and take great care of their fish and birds (and…read morereptiles too!) The smaller birds have large open cages where safe to do so and the parakeets especially love being together. Theyve been great help in setting up our new planted aquarium. I highly recommend making the drive. It's a locally owned business also that's been around for about 50 years I think! We drive 45 min to get there. worth it!

I had time to look around at everything I needed. I was stopping in to find a test-kit for my fish tank since I am having issues. I have gone broke trying to get this 29 gallon tank!!!!! So I was very surprised when Dan, had a 30 minutes talk with me, answering my questions, steering me down a sensible path and saving me a lot more money then I was needing to spend. I thought their tanks were great for a busy store. Fish were pretty and looked very healthy. They had a superb selection of live plants, tank backgrounds, fish foods, plant foods, etc. They did have pricey tank decor but that is the #1 observation I have made everywhere, tank decor is as expensive as gas. This store is 35 minutes away from my house, I will be going there and considering this my "GO-TO" fish store. Out of the 5 I have been to, they are reasonable in pricing all around. They could be a little less, but they could also be a little more. This price issue is a reason I will continue to return for mostly affordable fish tank needs. Dan is GREAT! I hope to grow a long term relationship with this staff member as his knowledge, kindness, willingness, and courtesy to save me money, made this a 5 star review! I will call ahead if I can to see if he is working, so I know I am getting consistent advice of how to be a aquarium hobbyist. Thank you OSCP!!

Last time I was in someone said they would go get my order in the back. She seemed the only employee on the floor. I had talked to this same person in the morning to put the order because I pressed for time when I came by to get it. I think she's is getting my order. I wait. And wait. The store is almost empty. More that five minutes later I find her in an aisle having a long chatty conversation with the only other customers in the store. She see's me amd says oh yeah I'll go get your order now. Some time later it shows up on one of the counters but nobody tells me its there. Someone else shows up to check me out (back from break I guess). I ask a question about shampoo as she begins to check me out, decide not to get it and turn to pur it back on the shelf. When I turn around she has moved my stuff aside and is checking somebody else out. It is now 20 min that I've been waiting to pay for an order that was ready before I arrived and this is tue second time I've been put sdie for so.eone else while someone was supposedly helping me. I speak up saying I'm next and that I've been waiting a long time. For this I get yelled at in front of the other customers. All these individuals have been helpful and pleasant other times. But perhaps some kind of protocol for dealing w rush situations would be ideal, like if you are the only one on the floor call for help when someone is waiting a really long time and don't tell them you are working on something and abandon task to chat at length and maybe don't yell at customers for speaking up because you don't know what their experience has been until they tell you.

When I arrived 2 hours later to get him he wasn't ready because "he's not used to being groomed". This small dog has been groomed every 3 weeks since he was born. They said that he was anxious the whole time and 'come pick him up' because he wasn't cooperating. They emphasized that he tried to bite her multiple times. As I emphasized earlier, he is a sweetheart, loves people and other dogs whether they are a small teacup like he is or if its a big Saint Bernard. They told me that it was because he saw me leaving. ?@#$%! What? OF COURSE HE DID! He was shaking when I picked him up with a half haircut. Yes, a choppy uneven haircut and he had a bloody cut on his paw when I picked him up. I'd try to bite someone if they mistreated me too. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Our dogs are our children and don't need to be abused by such unloving, uncaring people. They should not be groomers. I don't recommend the store either. Its dirty. I bought a bunch of squeaky toys there and 3 of them didn't squeak! STAY AWAY. They won't be there much longer!
