Specialties
Since 1972, Jabil Kennels has offered outstanding, professional boarding and grooming for dogs and cats. Our aim is to provide a place where you can feel comfortable leaving your pet, where your cat and dog go to stay with friends instead of "keepers". Pets don't have to "do time" in a kennel; they can feel safe and secure, and so can you. We also have lifetime of dog show experience that we can use to groom your dog, whether it be a house pet or a show dog.
History
Established in 1972.
Jabil Kennels was begun as a partnership of Jessie Young and her daughter Barbara Young, as a combination of their love for dogs and cats. Jessie had begun her lifelong affair with Collies before her children were born, and raised 3 children in a house with multiple dogs and cats. As Barbara left college and decided on a career, she and Jessie decided to create a business where they could care for pets in the same manner as they would want their own pets treated. Since they both had extensive experience with dog shows, Show grooming was easily transitioned to pet grooming. Jessie passed away in 2006, and Barbara has continued to offer pet care with love and a sense of fun. We are constantly updating our education, and learn new and better methods every year.
Meet the Business Owner: Barbara Y.
Barbara Young, owner, was born into a house with numerous dogs and cats. Jabil Kennels started as a hobby Collie kennel, and Barbara learned how to study pedigrees to improve future generations of Collies. Training, grooming and kennel management came as a part of growing up. Later, when she and Jessie branched into Pomeranians, Shih Tzu, and became active dog show exhibitors, the talents learned through those endeavors became important parts of grooming and everyday operations. Barbara has attended countless seminars and training sessions, and continues to enlarge her education regularly.
