She asked all of the basic questions one would expect and even mentioned Bordetella shots needed to be up to date (something we never get because we never have our dogs in day care or dog parks but we got them the shots 50 days prior just to be prepared for such an emergency and it takes 30 days to really bolster their system pet our vet) The drop off and pick up was easy, the Corgis always seemed to be freely roaming around with the other pups and everyone was getting along well. there isn't enough good we can say about the generosity and hospitality of Brenda in particular but all of Salem in general. a full week of time and nothing but positivity from all!! My husband and I took our two basset hounds in at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, January 20 to do self washes. A worker there informed us, despite the fact we were the only customers in the store, that we could not put one dog in each of the store sinks, and that we could either wash both dogs in one sink together, or only one dog in a single sink at a time, but could not occupy two separate sinks with tow persons to wash the two dogs. I asked the worker "aren't we paying per dog"? Which of course they said we would be, but they refused to allow us to use both sinks because "it would mean the next customer who would come in would find both sinks in use use and would have to wait"! Now, I realize the person working isn't a rocket scientist, but considering how it would then take us twice as long to wash the dogs, I didn't see the negative impact one way or the other, especially since it was a feeling cold winter afternoon and the place was deserted at the time. We politely left and refused to use this store for that or any future business, and I would discourage you from using Wag N Wash in Beverly based on how rude they were to us when we were, in fact, the only customers in the store. We headed to the Natural Dog in Danvers, where their staff was very friendly and we used their self wash and the person working was very nice and we had a great experience! Wag N' Wash in Beverly was once a great place to go, and it was always busy at the self wash. I would never set foot in that place again now, and I would urge you to look elsewhere for self wash. find some more deserving business like the Natural Dog to spend your money.

REPOST: original post was deleted…read more My boyfriend and I took Archer, our 1 year old Bernese mtn/Pitbull mix to Kissable Paws July 9th for the first time. Right off the bat, Maria (the owner) was patient with us as Archer would not go inside. I came in to tell her that we would just cancel the appointment as there was no way we can get him in. Maria came outside and tried everything she could to get him in. But with no luck. Archer did like her so that was a good thing. We were recommended to give him a calming meds and rescheduled for the following week. Prior to Kissable Paws, we were taking Archer to Petco for his grooming needs. The last few times were not successful as Archer was more than scared like he was terrified to go inside like something bad had happened. So glad we found Kissable Paws, Maria and her assistant Julia. They are the most patient people and I'm glad that Archer is comfortable with them! Our second try was every bit successful! Maria was ready and she got Archer inside. He saw that there was nothing to be scared of and he got so excited, he just wanted to go in the waiting area with the other cute doggies! As for the grooming itself, Maria has a lot of experience taking care of difficult dogs that other groomers simply reject. She was able to wash him, cut his nails, dry him and trim him (in places other groomers couldn't!) Maria and Julia took care of Archer in a loving and patient way that my boyfriend and I truly appreciated. Kissable Paws is definitely our exclusive grooming salon! Will 100% recommend them to everyone we know with doggies and cats (which we will definitely have to come in and bring them one of these days) :)

We specifically asked to have that done and it was not done either time. So we had to take our pup to the vet to get her very compacted anal gland expressed the following week. The first time we went here the grooming was fine because there was not much that needed to be done for the puppy (other than the failure to express her anal gland) but the second time was a disaster. When the groomer came out to bring our pup back to the grooming area, she lifted her up by the harness, to my fright. Anyone who has been around dogs knows that is not the way to pick up a dog!! I asked that they clip her ears close, but not take much off the body, not to shave her. When we picked her up, her ears were shaggy and her body had been nearly shaved, the exact opposite of what we had agreed to. We will not be going back to Dog Spa. It seems to be a very scatterbrained operation with unprofessional grooming and uncaring service. Our neighbor recently took her dog here and she came back with a cut ear.

I'm always down to purchase a new toy for my beloved senior rescue (even if she doesn't play with them) because I just want her to have everything she's never had. The staff is beautifully organized by animal and the staff were hard at work offering pet food suggestions to dog owners with complex health issues. As I listened to their suggestions, I was impressed with their level of knowledge and care for all their customers. They seem to offer a wide variety of foods, toys, grooming supplies, and collars/leashes. I also saw on their social media pages that they have a mobile grooming salon! I believe I read they have an upcoming nail clip for cats and dogs and are donating the $15 to local animal rescues for pets in need. I thought that was so classy, philanthropic and kind.
