The entire audience seemed excited for the performance, with the Christmas spirit felt throughout the lobby and theater. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The available concessions were tasty, though the spiked eggnog was sorely missed this year. One recommendation would be to improve communication regarding drink availability at the bars. If certain beverages are not served at the theater entrance bar (like hot cocoa and coffee), they should not appear on that menu, or guests should be informed before waiting in line. I witnessed dozens of theatergoers being told after a long wait that hot drinks were only available at the side bar by the front windows which created a lot of unnecessary frustration. The Wells Theatre has a wonderful antique nostalgia while remaining well maintained and very clean. We were fortunate to experience the show from a completely different seat location that previous years, on the opposite side of the house, and the updated writing and script changes were enough to keep the production feeling fresh and engaging. We also appreciated the intermission being placed after the First Spirit rather than after the Second, as in previous years, as it made the acts feel more balanced. Additionally, the return of the Third Spirit's in-audience entrance was definitely appreciated.

Since she was parking, I went to will call and gave her name. The lady literally takes out 4 tickets and rips 2 to trash before I could even say anything. For them to have no parking super close, how can one assume we wouldn't need to number of tickets we ordered? I told her there was actually 4 of us and she said there was some glitch in the system then gave us 2 seats in a completely different section. Once my friend arrived, she showed them her tickets from online to see we were supposed to be on completely different spots? Since it was too close to show time, we suffered the first act in the mezzanine then the rest in the orchestra seats. Honestly made SUCH a difference. 3.5 rounded up because the play was great, but I hope they fix whatever glitch their system is going through because it put a sour taste in my mouth.

I thought we were really running late and were going to l be rushing to get in before doors closed but we got in with 20 minutes to spare. Getting through security was a breeze. Allied Universal did a great job getting people through efficiently. I had a clear bag so they didn't even have to search through it. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the security at the door to the usher who helped us find our seat. We purchased our ticket on Ticketmaster and they were super easy to quickly pull up and scan using the Apple Wallet feature. The show was fantastic and Josh Johnson was hilarious. I do recommend that if you want to buy merch or have to use the bathroom you do so before the show ends because it's quite chaotic with everyone trying to leave at the same time. The location of the men's bathroom on the second floor goes against the flow of the crowd of you're on the first floor like we were. All in all though I highly recommend this venue and would not hesitate to see a show here again.

Drinks can be taken into the theater. It was fun greeting local theater community friends, some of whom I hadn't seen in decades. Seating was comfortable with plenty of leg room and space. The view from the center section, where I was seated, was excellent. The temperature in the theater was perfect. The Zeider hosts different production companies, comedy acts, independent theatrical productions and musical acts. But I've never seen them host a main stage production of a major musical theater work such as Stephen Sondheim's "Assassins". The theater experience was perfect. It's a great space in a great location. I'd love to see them partner more often with production companies who perform musical theater works and plays that can be staged in their space.

The Green Room offers light refreshments for purchase and has fundraising raffles, too. It's a neat place to stop into during intermission, and you're now permitted to bring your beverage into the theatre now, as long as you're mindful to remove and dispose of your trash when leaving the theatre. The theatre's name might include the word little, but it has a large heart! Let's keep it clean! While we are big fans of Broadway in New York City, and have purchased season tickets to Broadway in Norfolk, the Little Theatre of Norfolk provides amazing shows and performances that we highly recommend. So, when a friend saw that LTN was offering 'In the Heights, A New Musical' by Lin-Manuel Miranda, we couldn't wait to join them for the show. It was their first time at LTN. We're all big fans of Lin-Manuel and this weekend's performance did not disappoint. We were moving to the beats and humming in our seats. As for the show--Gaslight--I was genuinely impressed. The acting was superb, the set design captured the period beautifully, and the tension of the story was carried expertly by the cast. This classic psychological drama tells the story of Bella Manningham and her manipulative husband Jack, whose strange behavior slowly convinces Bella that she may be losing her sanity. Without giving away the mystery, the production builds suspense masterfully and delivers a powerful payoff that keeps the audience fully engaged. At a quick look most of not all of the negative reviews have to with shows and not the venue. The Sandler like all venues have near nothing to do with a performance or performers. I wish people would keep that in mind. Now the venue: It was clean and modern and seemed well cared for. This includes the restrooms. Which if you go to shows this is saying something. As for the seats and auditorium: They were comfortable and wider than many other venues. The sound for my performance was real good. Staff: Very very friendly. Most seemed older and seem to handle moving the 1000+ folks in and out very well. Concessions: got pretty busy but it did move along. Maybe 1 or 2 more persons behind the counter could have helped. As for food and drink: Typical snack bar fair and wasn't too bad priced. Not nearly as high as other places. Parking: Although not necessarily the Sandler's alone. Wasn't too bad. But we got to the center early and I'm glad we did. I think a visitor could be pressed with parking if a Friday or Saturday night when the local restaurants and bars were more full. My show was on a Tuesday. So overall a solid place to take in a show. I would have no problem visiting again.

The performing arts center is located off 460/264 and was built in 1996. Parking is off Park Avenue. There is a guard gate that is manned. On weekends no issue with parking and reserved is available. The exterior of the building is all brick and has an attractive entrance and lobby. Flowers that appear fresh planted are in front. Some debris was spotted around the grounds, however walk up clear. A good size lobby w/ a small concessions area is to the right. Restrooms are Womens to right, Men to left. I found the mens room tidy. The theater is straight back. Access to the balcony is by stairs, or elevator in front of grand staircase. The dressing rooms are ups stairs which can be a limitation depending on timing of numbers. I attended the Star Talent Dance Competition with my daughter. She was not participating and was a spectator as I. She had friends in her company Dance Space that were competing. I found the seats comfortable and the space in between roomy. The stage is large, but not as big as say Sandler Center in VB, or Ropper in Norfolk. No food, or drink is permitted in the auditorium. I loved the quick wit, and humor in A Sherlock Carol and the cast excellent! Some of the main characters in A SHerlock Carol are also in A Merry Christmas Carol as well. It's a small theatre that opened in 1913, and is a national historic landmark. It has ornate features inside and they sell light snacks and alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks at their concession stand.
