I'm writing this review and giving Universe Dog Pros (Courtney) a 1 star review because of a recent altercation that completely blindsided me. I hired Courtney to walk my three labs 10 months ago based on a referral from a friend. I was in a desperate and vulnerable position because my then 3 year old lab started acting aggressive towards other dogs as a result of getting another puppy. The first time that I used her, she showed up late and in hysterics because all of her client's house keys were stolen out of her car. It was a really emotional and dramatic first impression to say the least. It was also extremely disruptive as I work from home and suddenly found myself needing to comfort her while my 3 dogs anxiously awaited attention with a new person in our home and missing meetings. She showed up another time last March crying because a client of hers made a hard decision to put their senior dog down. She said it was because the dog was having accidents all over the house and that they just didn't want to deal with it anymore. It was so beyond inappropriate and judgmental. It really made me question if I should continue to use her or not. In the last 10 months I learned that she bashed me and my situation to other clients. This is bad business and as a customer, I shouldn't know anything about her dramas or what is going with her other clients or her personal life nor should her other clients know what's going on with me and my dogs. She canceled on me or showed up late multiple times, which often resulted in billing issues. On more than one occasion she showed up to my house and canceled because it was sprinkling outside and she didn't feel like walking them. She dog sat and stayed at my house and asked if she could use my washer because a dog from a dog park peed on her shoes. She then proceeded to tell me that she was naked in my house and then she told me that if I had cameras in my house, not to show the video to anyone. What?! How do dirty shoes correlate to being naked? That made no sense to me. It really just seemed like she was fishing to see if I had cameras in my house. Probably as a result of the incident at the other clients house where she was caught on camera having a guy she barely knew over to their house. She made numerous rude and inappropriate comments in front of my kids on multiple occasions. She also walked into my house once and yelled "who the f is that?" because there was another dog in my house that I was dog sitting for a friend. I was on a really important conference call when she did this and it was heard by all participants on the call. It was mortifying. She has no filter. It's really embarrassing. She acts burdened and annoyed by dogs, which is odd for someone who has a business about dogs. On her website she refers to having employees, but she doesn't. For the last 10 months I've heard her tell me that she's going to hire someone, but she still hasn't. She claims that she has years of experience training dogs, but the reality is that she doesn't. We attempted an in-home training session and she was so abrasive towards us. She berated us the whole time. It was a really stressful and unproductive experience. We chose to use a more experienced trainer instead and had a much better experience all around. The trainer we used turned out to be Courtney's "mentor", Deneese Elfenson from The Canine Resource Center. Courtney insisted on using ecollars on my dogs. Turns out, she didn't even know how to operate them! Two of my dogs started hiding behind me when Courtney would arrive because they were scared of the ecollar. I really regret allowing her to do that to my dogs! She recently started changing her policies on the fly, which seems to be an emotional reaction to an altercation that she had with another client who I'm friends with. Her website doesn't even indicate what her policies are. A couple days ago she contacted me to inform me that she's changing her safety policies and no longer providing services to high risk animals and that includes my dog, Sylvia. She didn't offer any alternative options to i.e. walking my 2 other dogs. She just cut me off and left me with no resolve. She even removed my ability to access my account on Time to Pet so that I couldn't even view my invoices and such. She did this prior to even processing the transactions to reimburse me for charged services that she hadn't even done yet! It's pretty obvious that she asked other clients to give her 5 star reviews, which means she's continuing to bash us. Case and point. Damage control is in full affect. Never in my life have I ever dealt with a situation like this nor have I ever been treated so poorly by someone I gave my business to. After writing this review, I'm embarrassed that I put up with this level of unprofessionalism for as long as I did. I do not recommend Universe Dog Pros a.k.a Courtney. read more

I've been using Courtney / Universe Dog Pros for about 16 months now. Courtney did a great job earning my shy dogs trust when she first started walking for us, and our new puppy adores her as well. We've been using her regularly 3-4 times a week and for several overnight dog sitting trips as well with zero issues. Courtney is easy to communicate with, reliable, her app makes it easy to see schedule, photos, and set up auto pay. I have recommended her to several friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her again. Courtney has supported our dogs' socialization and activity needs during the pandemic which I'm so very grateful for. She is very Covid conscious and has always worn a mask when picking up the dogs. I have been using Courtney to walk my two dogs, Ollie, a Maltipoo and Brody a Biewer Terrier for a year and couldn't be more happy with her. You can tell how much she loves the dogs. She adjusts her schedule to fit with my work schedule and I love that she sends pictures of my dogs to me. She has even helped me out by picking up my dog from the vet when I started a new job and couldn't make it before they closed. read more

Courtney is amazing! I am so happy we found her because I know that my dog is in good hands and safe. She is communicative and timely. I love that we know when she is there because she uses an app to check-in. We can see the route she walked with our dog, how many times he peed, AND she sends us pictures of him in the app. I always look forward to those. Our dog loves her and she so SO GOOD with him (he can get a little too excited and not know his own strength). Courtney is a pleasure to work with. Other things I love: she posts pictures of her dogs on Instagram and Facebook. I get excited when our dog is featured :). Courtney is a wonderful dog walker. She has been walking my Bauceron Kepler for 4 months now and I am so appreciative of her. She accepts some of my last minute walk requests and it has really helped me a lot. Kepler is a big dog and he has reactivity, but Courtney is able to handle him well. She sends me a lot of pictures on every walk and a full summary so I always know he is safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend Universe dog pros! read more

Courtney is amazing! I've been using her for about two years for dog walking and overnight stays while I'm out of town for watching my dog Oliver. She is familiar with reactive dogs which is very important to me since my dog has been bitten before. She is very communicative and sends a lot of pictures and info on when the walks start and end, and number of potties. She's respectful of my home and leaves it cleaner than when she arrived. I discontinued using Courtney's dog services several months ago. She was referred to me by a friend. I had two dogs including an Aussie and a Siberian Husky. 1. My Aussie was always cautious of her and she insisted on us purchasing and using a choke collar. It never felt right and her walks consisted of low energy strolls with picture taking. That was not part of the service I requested and she used photos to promote her business. 2. On the one occasion she house/dog sat she invited a new boyfriend to my home putting my home security at risk. This was extremely poor judgement and I only knew because my Ring notified me an unknown guy in a hoodie was there with her. She justified it saying " he didn't come inside". She did not walk my Husky because she said she was not able to leash her up however she sent pics of her next to her including laying her head in her lap. She told me she "didn't really like huskies" yet when my dog passed unexpectedly she was hysterical and posted it on her page without my permission. I had stopped using her services months prior. 3. Courtney gossiped about client's dogs and the owners. She has a problem with boundaries and will look for own personal support and validation from her customers. 4. The final straw that has me posting this review is she randomly sent a text saying my friend's puppy nipped her finger ( did not break skin) and not to tell anyone. I found it odd since I have not used her service for 6 months and this is a friend of my mine. As details unfolded I saw it was really just trying to dramatize a small incident. Courtney was just talking away to the home owner in the presence of 5 labs...unaware of her environment putting her treat bearing hand in harm's way. Inexperience and lack of attention was most likely the cause. Asking me not to say anything was inappropriate as this is my friend and I told her as much. 5. This has been a good lesson on identifying red flags and cutting business ties with people who lack professional boundaries. read more

I attempted to use this business several months ago after being referred by a reliable client. The owner came to my house for a meet and greet. She immediately started talking about my family, which threw me off because they were not positive things. I brushed it off and decided to book her to walk my dog. I had to contact her multiple times in order to get a response. She seemed really flakey, so I decided to find someone else that could assist me with my young dog's needs. read more

Courtney is a fantastic dog walker and dog sitter. We have used her for the past two years and couldn't be happier. She is reliable, timely and professional. We have an anxious dog who needs a little extra attention while on leash and I feel completely comfortable with Courtney walking her. I also appreciate the feedback she provides on how our training is going, how walks and boarding went, etc. Courtney is easy to communicate with, transparent and responsive to requests. Courtney, the owner, has been my dog walker for a few years now and is a gem. My dogs have loved her and she loved my dogs. Last March when I had to put my 14 year old Mini Schnauzer to rest, she wanted to say goodbye to Scout and stopped by and spent time with him providing comfort to him and me. Last July I got a Mini Goldendoodle,, Hunter, and she started out with stopping by my place twice a day for potty breaks while I was at work and now he is on once daily walk. She had been a great resource regarding my pups and always receptive to my questions with great advise. She is dependable, trustworthy and knowledgeable.
