No impressive architecture. No ancient manuscripts or catacombs. It's pretty boring as far as libraries go. This library lacks an outdoor drop-off box... Grrr...

They always have the newest books but you must get them fast (2 week limit). My favorite section is their DVD collection, they have newest releases and the oldest classics. Their printing services are fantastic! It's still 10 cents per copy and free scanning privileges. They have an area of audio books, which I adore even though my family says it's cheating. You can even check out CD's! Oh my goodness guys, they have canned food drives 1-2 times a year that cover your late fees! I always take advantage of this event and bring my entire pantry even though I owe at most $2. This review is for a one-night stay in a DVQ in early May…read more guest room Exceptional suite, for the amazing rate of $69. We had a two-room suite in Building 110, it says Bachelor Officer's Quarters A over the arched doorway. We were on the second floor in and suite at the end of one of those long exterior porches. Most of the suites in our building seemed to be named for USAF aircraft. As the building title implies, these are converted BOQs. The front room is a sitting room with television, couches and - get this - a outsize fireplace! Now, the fireplace doesn't work, but imagine a time when big fireplaces were necessary in San Antonio. The bedroom and especially the bathroom were very nice. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and are as nice as any upscale hotel. There's a refrigerator and coffee maker, plus snacks and booze for sale. There seemed to be adequate street parking, just a few steps from the DVQs. In addition, the setting of the DVQs and deep porches are simply stunning. If morning coffee is your thing, arrange your schedule with enough time to sit in your rocking chair on the shady veranda overlooking the courtyard. food and beverage If there's a breakfast, we missed it. For lunch or dinner, there are all the usual food court options nearby in the PX. There seems to be a club in Building 500, which might be an option - depending upon their membership rules. staff Front desk staff were really great. You check in Building 112, which is right next door to the DVQ we occupied. Housekeeping staff were also very warm, welcoming and gracious. common spaces We didn't see or ask about use of a pool or laundry. With the number of guests, am sure the front desk could provide all sorts of options. location The air base is to the north and east of San Antonio. It's pretty much highway all the way to the base. The Security Police at the access point can provide directions to the lodging office. The neighborhoods surrounding the air base are not really tourist destinations, but the area seems safe enough. For DOD card holders, the installation appears to have every amenity you'd expect. In addition, the base is incredibly well maintained and a real showplace for the air force.

Dr. Isaac Amon delivered an exceptional presentation, providing compelling analysis, historical context, and valuable insights. The Central Library staff should be commended for organizing and hosting such a well-executed and impactful event. The lecture introduced historical facts, statistics, and perspectives that were not part of my academic experience, either in school or college. It was an enlightening and thought-provoking experience that reinforced the importance of continuous learning and a deeper understanding of our shared history.

This amazing library is located in the heart of downtown and was built by renowned Mexican architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The building is absolutely stunning and has actually been featured in Hollywood movies. If you love art as much as I do you'll be happy to hear that they have a Chihuly inside the library, as well as other pieces of art by very popular artists. The San Antonio Central Library is so much more than a local library. Within the building, you can find other nonprofits that help support small businesses in our community, as well as numerous events they host almost daily. One of my favorite parts about the SA Central Library is their second-hand bookstore located in the basement. You can find some true gems in there, and all the money raised from sales goes back to the library. If you have children I highly recommend exploring their kids' section. My kid loves to play in that area and the staff there is always amazing! Last but not least, the library has its own parking lot and you can get up to three hours of free parking when visiting. You just have to validate your ticket at one of the kiosks located by the entrance.
