The library also has a lovely shaded courtyard where you can read. Behind the library is a very large playground. It was so nice and clean and beautiful- there were restrooms, too. I will definitely be back with my daughter- this leaves a lot to be desired from my local library.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I was told that area I sat in would be serving lunch for children at 12. Because my session was over at 12, everything worked out. At about 12, one of the library personnel came to the family I was sitting with, and told the mom that there was free lunch for the children. It seems this is a partnership between the Public Library, the San Antonio Food Bank, and Northeast ISD. I can't tell you how impressed I am. With all the issues that people are having these days, it was just such a nice thing to for families and children and teens, during the Summer months. The schedule can be found on the public library website, which also shows participating library branches. Kudos to the public library, SA Food Bank and NEISD for being there for the community.

However, my first 2 times were unsuccessful because they were closed and I had other places to be so we didn't stay. The 2nd time we came for a play day with my daughter but she fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her so I waited for her to wake up and just browsed around and played on the swings for a bit. This time we actually made it on time for play time. Very packed house today but it was a fun experience for my daughter. Especially since she's an only child. I highly recommend! It's FREE!! FYI we were informed today that the library will be closing Jan 26th until May sometime I'm glad we experienced the old version of this beautiful library! Excited to see the remodeled/ renovated version once it's done!

It's no wonder…read morethat people are often having photoshoots here. 5 stars for the awesome connected playground, with thoughtful separated spaces for littles under 5 and fencing so you don't have to worry about kiddos running away. 5 stars for a great kids space inside the library, with simple craft supplies and play sets for kids. The library itself is pretty small, and for a library, it may feel a little lacking. There's just not a ton of space to get lost in books. For parents with young kids, Landa Library is a great place to go!
