When we arrived, they had just taken out a tray of smoked salmon filets and smoked trout. Took a while to decide what to get, but settled on fresh kielbasa and coffee bacon, frozen duck sausage and maple bacon breakfast sausage, frozen pierogies/kluski/uszka, Kosciusko lager mustard, and German potato bacon salad. All the meats we tried were really tasty, especially the bacon. The potato salad was extra tangy. We bought a lot, so I ended up freezing some of the items, so I still have to try a few of them. The employees were super nice and friendly. One asked if any of us were Polish to make conversation, while the other was gathering our meat. We have also tried some other sausages in the past, including lobster sausage.

No wonder nothing here has the prices posted. I guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it. I'll continue to shop here as necessary, but also buy my meat at Pat's, around the corner, Barth's Market in New Providence, Wegman's in Woodbridge, and now, Union Pork Store, on Morris Ave.

My aunt asked me to come here to pick her up freshly sliced bacon, she has been raving about it for years. I wasn't planning on getting everything else, but mentioned in passing to the guy behind the counter that I would buy a half pint of vodka sauce, but they only had full pints out. The guy asked me to hand me a full pint, and he put it in a half sized container and charged me half. I've literally never had that happen anywhere. Most people would've just said "oh that's too bad." This is definitely an old school butcher, don't expect to see state of the art scales, or beautifully written menus. You don't come here for that, you come here for the products. I see other reviews regarding prices not being marked, the owners definitely saw that because most items had prices per lb. All the prepared food was clearly marked. A lot of the reviews here are outdated. Shop small and local, give them a shot. All of the ingredients were top notch and the flavors came together really well! Will gladly return to Mastriano's!

Barth's is a family-run business, not a huge supermarket, which is part of its charm. The atmosphere has that welcoming, old-fashioned neighborhood market feel. Everything is clean, neatly displayed, well organized, and easy to find as you walk around. Even with such a large variety packed into the market, it doesn't feel overwhelming, and it's easy to browse and see everything they have to offer. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. They're extremely knowledgeable about their meats and are happy to offer cooking recommendations and even recipes if you're not sure how to prepare something. The meat selection is incredible. As I walked around, I saw beautiful steaks, chops, burgers, Italian and Polish sausages, chicken and veal cutlets, German cold cuts, homemade bratwurst, hot dogs, kielbasa, and a variety of wursts. They also carry organic whole chickens and chicken parts, along with homemade chicken patties and chicken sausages. If you enjoy German foods, Barth's has a nice selection of dried spaetzle and other German-style noodles, along with Kabanos and other specialty items. They also have a fresh fish department. What really surprised me was how much more they offer besides meat. You can pick up homemade prepared foods and entrées, locally sourced fresh breads, milk, eggs, dairy products, drinks, fresh vegetables, salads, condiments, and plenty of other items to put together an entire meal. I bought steaks, Italian sausage, kielbasa, bread, and Kabanos sausage, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The quality of the meats at Barth's is truly outstanding, and you can tell they take pride in what they sell. There's a free parking lot attached to the building, which is very convenient along with a couple of handicapped spaces, and they even have some outdoor seating if you want to grab a sandwich or something to eat and enjoy it outside. I can definitely see why I've heard so many good things about Barth's. Great quality, knowledgeable and friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and an impressive selection. I highly recommend checking them out. I'll definitely be back!
