When they came out and completed it, it was not the siding discussed. The front door handle was on the wrong side and the wood trim was raw wood, unfinished and unsealed and did not frame the windows completely like initially contracted. I tried to work with their daughter (project manager) to try and fix it at the lowest cost possible for them and myself but when they demanded the other half down without fixing the initial problems, her dad (the head contractor) got on the phone and literally yelled at me because they finished what was on the contract. When I said I was trying to work with what they left me, he accused me of "changing my mind" and kept referring to the contract which was a hand written list of things to do that had no descriptions on it whatsoever. I tried to explain that I was trying to work with what they mistakenly gave me again instead of demanding them to redo everything but again said it was me who was changing my mind. I've never worked with a contractor with such inappropriate, bullying behavior and I hope no one ever has to again.

He even contacted our insurance adjuster to get them to agree to additional items on our behalf. The work was done in 3 phases, roof, siding, then gutters one right after the other and completed in less than a week. During each phase the job foreman kept in contact with any questions or concerns to make sure everything was being done as we wanted. They were very good to work with. I cannot say enough how much I love the final product! We have the best looking house in the neighborhood now, it doesn't even look like the same place. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone.

They had a trash can, cooler, ladder, tools and siding remnants in our yard all day. My husband said something to them and they said they would try to keep it clean. When I got home from work they were still taking advantage. I said something and one of the workers said we were trying to keep dry under your tree. There was a cooler under the tree but the tools and such were not. I'm not sure why they didn't jump into one of the many vehicles they had parked in the street. I saw 8 guys semi working there may have been more. One guy sat on top of one if the vehicles watching things for quite a while. I would never hire a company that has so little respect for others. I can't wait to share this with my co-workers. I couldn't post without at least one star. I wouldn't have given them any.

They did a bathroom remodel for my mom that turned out horrendous. It has taken over a month for a…read moreremodel that shouldn't take more than 2 weeks at the very most. They were never there when they said they would be be and would only work on it a few hours at a time. The drywall mudding was done poorly and you can see where the mud spots are even after being painted. My mom asked for the mirror to be recessed but because they didn't cut the hole for it, they just mounted it on the wall. They also made the hole for the light too low so the one chosen had to be changed so the lights wouldn't hang over the mirror. They put a hole in the drywall in the linen closet and didn't fix it until told they had to. The floor tile was laid unevenly and one had to be taken out due to an eighth of an inch height difference and when put back in, they didn't regrout it. The shower is by far the worst part. There's a quarter inch gap between the floor tile and the shower edge tile. The shower floor is completely uneven and has low spots so the water doesn't drain off of it and instead of connecting the mosaics so it flows together, you can see where they laid each individual piece (it's a white rock mosaic look). All of the wall tile is uneven and I mean in every way possible. Some pieces stick out further and others are sticking out on one side and pressed in on the other. There are two cubbies for the shower wall where the Schluter edging on each sticks out considerably on one part and recessed behind the tile on another. The Schluter edge along the shower itself is never actually against the tile, there's a gap that they just filled with grout that varies in thicknesses because the tiles weren't all cut to make a straight edge. Now let's talk about the grout job in the shower. Sloppy is an understatement. They wiped and smeared grout all over the tiles and didn't use the cleaner to get it off and the grout in the cubbies are in big globs in the back corners and smeared all over the top tiles. There's also grout all over the ceiling where the tile meets it. You can see the orange Kerdi sheet at the stop because it wasn't cut correctly. The shower door isn't on right and leaked because it wasn't sealed. The temperature handle wasn't put in correctly and wouldn't get hotter than room temperature water. When they came to fix that issue, the guy came out with the grout sealer bottle to read the instructions (which makes me think they've never done this before) when we were told 4 days prior that they already put the sealer on. So because of all of this, they were fired. Now we've found that the shower is leaking into the bedroom behind the bathroom. When Jeff was contacted about it all he said was "Sorry but I was fired". No self respecting contractor would say this, they would try to make it right. So, for your best interest, do NOT go through this company.

Do…read morenot hire these guys for anything they don't complete the job and destroy things trying to get you to break a contract and shoot a price at you that is for far more then the work performed. Your left with the choice of 2 very bad choices and will end up in court to recoup something. We needed a garage built 4 months after the storm. I found him yellow pages. Said he could do it 24 by 24 ft and do everything but put up overhead doors for $7500 which is about average price. I added 5 small windows for extra $300. They start and seems alright except the part where they would clean up every night and sweep for staples and nails. Instead of nails they use staples even though I bought the nails for gun. 1.) Staples are a poor alternative to nailing and require more per sheet of plywood. They didn't and I questioned Jeff and he looked dumbfounded that I would question about proper build code. Kept doing improper building code violations. 2). Here's the best one they built it without getting all walls under the footings since it was a previous 24 by 28 slab. Now going to cost $2000 to $3000 for new footing. If they would have turned roof the way I wanted it build the trusses sitting on the making it load bearing walls would have been over the required footings, Called 5 times and emailed 4 times to fix mistakes and finish and just excuses and lies about showing up. 3.) Never put in long bolts replacement anchor bolts that require 10 inch acrylic cemented bolts they put in 4 inch expansion bolts not long enough and 4.) missed putting in 3 bolts that code requires. 5.) They put wrong width of header over windows .Building code requires at least 6 inch. 6.) Didn't use wood shims to install service door so door frame bows out in middle. Will let snow and air in. 7.) Didn't put treated plywood around the floor in one wall that needed it for building code requirement. 8.) cut all shingles flush at edges where all manufacturers and build code requires at least 3/8 inch overhang at bottom to give runoff to fall without running down facia board and rotting it out. 9.) They broke one of the windows to try and get out of the contract by getting us to wonder what's next 10.)And most important he never bought a building permit which City of Cedar Rapids really gave me a very hard time about it when I asked for an inspection. And when I asked him about permit and inspection he lied ( like a dozen times to me) that the city wasn't requiring one anymore at that time and the inspection would be a drive by from the street. Really? So when I did call for an inspection I get the head inspector who was a little upset and the shabby way they put it together. So now I have to hire to put in new concrete footing and finish 1/3 of work left to finish beside overhead doors. And most important fix mistakes will take $1000 or 40 hours of my time minus footing I can't do. Also lose many hours filing lawsuit and finding his real address that's not listed in FindPeople and White Pages etc. So after this if you hire them all I can say is good luck in cleaning up a huge mess that takes thousands of dollars and hundred hours in work. What a f****** mess.
