Joel & Jeremy were so polite, happy, worked so well together making it a great experience to have them in our home. They also worked well with the plumber from Valenta which was great. I had a question after a few days & they came to the house & showed me what I needed to do to make things work the way I wanted them too. Josh was great at this. We'd recommend them to anyone. The guy showed up too early, then was huffy and disrespectful when one of had an appointment and needed to leave. We sure didn't know it was a prerequisite nor was he going to tell us what to do. I'll start this out by saying, I let this all happen. I shouldn't have, but I did. Hometown sent me a salesman in Fall '23 to sell me a patio door. It was a unique size and specific to fit my needs. The price tag was obscene but I figured since it was custom that the price made sense. The salesman appeared to even call the manufacturer while in my presence to confirm they could do it. I signed and agreed to be approved for their credit card for a term of no-interest financing. Due to the special ordering, it would take a long time to come in. We agreed late spring '24 for install. The door arrived in May and the workers scheduled with me for June. Upon arrival, the installer had me come look at the door before he brought it in the house. It was not what I had ordered. It was a standard sized door. He pulled out the paperwork to confirm. He apologized and said the salesman would be in touch and they left. I got an email from the salesman the next day that said your door is in! As if I didn't already know that? He went on to offer me a tiny discount to allow them to install the door that came in. What happened to the door I ordered? The manufacturer couldn't do it. Was the call even real? They can make a different sized door but not the one I wanted. Obviously this is the point where I should've pulled the plug. I can tell you about my state of mind, the long wait and necessity of having what this door offered but none of that really matters. I should have canceled the deal but I continued on. The next day I spoke to a manager and the salesman. They didn't seem to be on the same page at all and cannot or will not answer why I was sold a door that didn't exist. I asked to see a breakdown of the cost. They did not provide. I looked up what this door costs on google. It's 5x less than what I was being charged. The salesman employed high pressure tactics to get me to accept the door as is. He gave me a sob story about how he and the company are losing money with the piddly discount offered. He raved about the quality of the door. He asked me what I needed to move forward. I said I needed a significant discount to which he scoffed and said he could not do it. I gave another number and he again told me about how much money he was losing. He offered me another minimal amount, slightly more than the original discount. I said I would have to talk it over with my partner, which it was very obvious he didn't want me to do, so then he went a little higher on the discount and said If I give you this discount, can we come install it today? I'll never know why I said yes. It was very dumb of me. I still paid 4x the cost of the door had I just gone to a local store. They came and installed the door. It seemed fine, but they had to come back out several times over the next week to fix things. Back to the financing: I applied for and was approved for their financing with a term of no interest. However, that credit company had a 6-month purchase window. We knew when we signed this deal back in the fall that it would be over 6 months. The salesman either didn't know or didn't care about this window. He called me after the door was installed and said we have to reapply. That means another hard inquiry on my credit score. He gave me the credit company's number to call and see if I can get them to reopen my account. I did, and they won't. I called the salesman back to let him know. He says they aren't even working with that company anymore and that I have to now apply through another one, and I have to do it right now, giving my personal information over the phone and allowing another hard inquiry. While this is absolutely a case of a series of bad decision making on my part, I also feel I was duped, preyed upon, taken advantage of, and pressured. I will say all of the workers were lovely humans. I was happy to have them working on my home. But Hometown and their salesman Mark Condit is not someone I hope to ever have contact with again. read more

However, we felt like he was steering us to the more expensive options - and when we got the quote we were floored! We had a bathroom remodel done by Hometown. The initial interaction was positive they had a great design idea. I should have had a clue when it came to talking about the price and financing. BEWARE their 0% for 60 months is a scam. Sure you don't pay interest every month for 60 months, they charge you an upfront "fee" which is the same as paying interest you just pay it upfront and they add it in your loan. I did not go this way but to me this is an unethical way to pull customers in. So we were given a ballpark price for the project which was 30% higher than another quote we received but Hometown had good reviews and have been working in CR for many years. We were told this could be less depending on what we picked for finishes and their labor. So the project begins, late I will add. The demo team shows up and starts demoing our master bathroom, keep in mind this is our master bath. The demo team took zero precautions to control the dirt and dust from the demo, they were hammering and cutting with the door wide open. Our bedroom was a dusty dirty mess. They had zero care of the mess they were creating in our entire house. They were so messy and didn't clean up, I would clean at night! When they were tearing out the floor for the zero entry shower they never took any precautions for the room below, this room had a drop ceiling that "I" pulled all the ceiling back for plumbing access. Anyway there was piles od debris,nails etc that were in the carpet below, again with myself having to clean up. NO RESPECT. This company says they are detail focused but they couldn't be further from the truth. The drywall begins, what a joke such an embarrassing shitshow! Looked terrible none of the texture matched, you could see every imperfection, was so disappointed and again set the project back. Hometown ended up hiring Menifee drywall, wow a company that knows what their doing!!! The cabinet install was terrible by hometown, their solution was lots of caulk in a 60K bathroom so unbelievable. This company does not care about the details just your money. Needless to say after pressing them on all the crap work and details we finally got things where they were acceptable so they could go away! So I get the final bill what a joke! No consideration for the work I did or the horrible experience. Let alone we bought our own hardware for the cabinets, you guessed it the bill was exactly the highest end of the "estimate ". So frustrating! We asked for an itemized bill and received a parts list which was all at manufacture list pricing, wow. One would think if your using a contractor for a high level bathroom you wouldn't be able to buy the finishes at Lowes, guess what you can and for thousands of dollars less! We were swindled and over charged for meadoker work beware of the ethics and quality of this company. So disappointed! read more

We have worked with this company previously and had great results with an indoor project for our house. Unfortunately, when we hired them again to do siding and additional outside work it was less then a good experience. We booked a project in March 2021 and after several emails and phone calls the project was started in June 2022. As of today's date November 5, 2022 the project still has not been completed. After several attempts to contact the company we are being ghosted. Periodically they will respond, usually one month after initial contact, and push off dates of the completion of the project. If you were looking for quality work to be done in a timely fashion I would steer clear of this company. All though the work is good, The customer service is extremely poor. read more
