Jarrod was the incredibly polite and informative young man who assisted me. He explained that his position was dedicated solely to Emissions testing , this is how they can get you in and out so quickly, paper work and all! No appointments needed! It was refreshing to see such a young person take pride in his job and go the extra mile to inform his customers. He even backed my car up for me ! This is the kind of person we all want to hire! Prior to my visit, I had a bad emissions experience in a neighboring town, , it certainly looked upscale and had many employees, however they lost my reservation, and told me at 10 AM that I would need to come back at 2 pm for service! They never even thought to apologize, further more they took my car key and it took 20 min. to retrieve it? Branford Auto Center is my new go to. They hire excellent people and actually care. We have been going to this shop for 18+ years. My car was making some noises and I didn't feel safe in it. I dropped it off on a Friday and they told me it was in need of brakes badly. The owner was able to squeeze me in and get my brakes done that way I was in a safe vehicle. I couldn't appreciate this more. They always help us out in a pinch and always give us the right value for what we are paying for. If you need mechanic work and you're in the Guilford area, Guilford Texaco is the way to go!

My wife is on Social Security card in 2009 with 210,000 miles on it. The guy was very nice. She said no problem. The girls were very nice and they always are but for the two things that they did to the car they charge me $179 just to look at it but I had to work down there and this is what really bothers me they charged me $700 for parts. My son-in-law and my son both work on cars. My son told me that they definitely overcharged us. He called on the place and we were overcharge at least $400 plus we had to work down there. The total bill was $1398 but they told me 1380+ $20 for emissions but we already paid for admissions twice in the last three weeks so I don't know what was going on. but the thing that really bothers me is, I thought they were gonna take care of me $1400 for what they did. It just bothered me big time especially when I had to use $1000 that I had to pay my mortgage and now I'm a month behind whatever . But the $179 to look at it when first of all, they never told me they're gonna charge me to look at it and then we had to work done there. I don't know I'm disappointed I think they're nice people, but I just feel like I got way overcharged especially when we just don't have the money like I said the girls there are very nice and then you say 1380 and it's 1400+ $20 every little bit counts to us I work 12 hours a day seven days a week because my wife and son are sick but anyway it really hurt me to fill this out because I like them

They said, OH we were in the back moving cars. So, I asked if they would definitely be there today, I'm leaving work early again to get it done. They said no problem we'll definitely be there until 5:00. When I get there at 4:30 they are once again closed this time with a sign saying emissions closed at 4:00 today and tomorrow. This is the most unprofessional incompetent place of business I have dealt with. I could have gone another route if they were up front. Monumental waste of my time. I was lead to believe that it was the Branford office. Once our trip was booked I never heard from our travel agent Austin again. I had to track down someone to pay the remainder or my reservation or it would have been canceled. I ask for a supervisor to call me no one called back. I had been searching for a small business mechanic that was trustworthy for a while since I moved and had not found one yet. Although it did take them three weeks to fix and return my car, it unfortunately was during the holiday season. Each time I spoke to Paul on the phone, he was polite and to the point- my type of mechanic. I appreciated the fact that he did have a business to run and did not have time to butter me up, the ultimate goal for both he and I was to finish my car. Perfect. When I did pick my car up, all of the staff were polite and respectful. I needed a new hood and repairs and replacements to a few parts within, along with a new paint job. The gentlemen who worked directly on my car, Orlando, walked around the car with me and explained all of the work he did on my car. He was very patient with me as I am not a mechanic and had tons of questions. He answered and explained everything to me and ensured that, by any chance something was not correct in the next few days, to come back and he would take care of it. Paul and the staff did an amazing job on my car and I was very pleased. My sisters and I will be making them our permanent mechanics. He truly works for the customer, very satisfied.
