I've never had a problem here and I've honestly never had to wait. I love the lady who is always there and every-time I walk in she calls me "sweetheart" she has watched me grow up and I'm now in college. I love living in a small town.

I have an eBay store I sell quite a bit on so I know exactly how I want to send everything, the prices, etc. The Cashier actually had the nerve to tell me not to send so many items at once, that it's inconvenient to the customers behind me. 8 items is not a lot, especially when they are small, and only need to be weighed and stickered. Not to mention, there is nothing mentioning a Maximum Parcel Limit. She was just lazy, and didn't want the 1 person behind me to wait too long. Then I told her that I'd like to ship everything through First Class with tracking.. She gets to one package that's a touch over the limit so it needed to be changed to priority (no big deal).. but then the item after it gets changed to priority, then the next, then the next.. I stopped her because the packages were very small and yet being charged as priority. She looks at her screen and realizes that she set everything to priority instead of first class -___- Now who's making the customers wait? She had to reweigh everything and resticker them. Then she couldn't remove the mistaken charges, so she had to charge my card for everything, and refund me after. Worst experience ever. I get that this is a small post office, and perhaps the cashier isn't used to seeing more than a package or 2 come in at a time, but this was ridiculous. Also, she forgot to change one of the items back to first class.. so I was charged $7.05 for priority, instead of the $3 it would've cost to send through first class. And there's nothing I can do about it now.. -__-

It can hold maybe 3 people in line before your out the door. It is very efficient and they get the job done. I really like a woman who works at the counter by the name of Faye . She is very friendly and a lot of the locals know her by name. Faye will take the time to explain the best and cheapest way to get a package to where its going. She also helps with sizing packages and getting the right box to mail goods in. Stirling Post Office sells the latest stamps for people who collect them or just want to put something nice on an envelope. This post office does have some private mailboxes for anyone who prefers to pickup their mail. Outside are several US standard blue mailboxes that you can just drive up and drop off your letters. I prefer this post office to larger ones and will continue to use them.

Whether you've been in twice or 20 times, each person is so kind & lines go quickly! I've had the closing gate held for me several times & for heavy packages - no prob- they've helped me with that too! I even had to un-box & re-wrap a huge box & again without hesitation, they helped me! I love their energy, attitude, efficiency, kind nature & professionalism (when in doubt I ask & they've always come through)! I'd never go to a different post office, even if it was closer. I'm a loyal fan, thanks to THEM. (Although for my DAILY DELIVERED MAIL it wud be refreshing to get my mail delivered earlier in the day on a consistent basis - & maybe know the name of my carrier!? I don't like to have my mail delivered at 11am or 3pm or 8pm- or to keep checking the mail box... did they come yet? Usually packages are scanned in front of me, and then I'm asked if I want a receipt. This gentleman put them down, didn't scan them in front of me, when I asked for a receipt, he rudely said -you should've told me that first. He handed me back the packages and told me to go use the machine.... after struggling and figuring out how to use it without any success, I called for him to please come and give me assistance- about six times until he finally begrudgingly walked over - shameful, rude service. (I sell stuff online.) I also have a p.o. box for my business so being there anyway was never a hassle. The only thing I could complain about are the speed bumps in the driveway going into the parking lot. Seriously, one day it will ruin my car or do something where I will send them the bill. Other than that, the lines aren't long at all, my mail to my house was never disorganized or a problem of any kind. Thanks for your help!

I never used the box or received any mail. I was told by the manager Tiffany and another employee that this is how their system is set up and there is nothing they can do about it. (BS all the way). I have written the higher ups and awaiting an answer. I have used several po boxes in other towns and this never happened. It cannot be legal. I will fight it all the way. Any advice, let me know. I wrote the Postal Regulatory Commission, USPS Office of Inspector and Government Accountability Office. I am a 100% disabled United States Air Force Veteran and I rely solely on my one check from them. Money don't come easy and we are living in hard times. I do not have $40.50 to just give a way for a bogus processing fee. I am holding onto the money order and receipt they gave me and my bank statement showing that the $93 was paid to them and they only want to return $52.50. This is hogwash in the first degree.

Chatham post office is the personification of our family's joke about a job done half-assed: Good enough for government work.
