I've been here several times to print very simple jobs - just regular documents actually. No graphics or anything - just simple text, and I don't have a printer at home, so I need a service to do it for me. Each time, the guy at the desk couldn't have been more unhelpful or more dismissive. For instance, when I asked "What are the different choices for thickness of paper?", he didn't even look at me - he just pointed to a table with some books on it, one of which had the paper choices. I had to look at each book to find the right one. I guess this guy doesn't like his job very much, or maybe he doesn't like people very much, but why take it out on your customers? Incredibly unprofessional. Graphic designers beware. I had a client who was incredibly upset because after speaking to one of the printers, she came away with the impression that I had no idea what I was doing because "they don't teach students how to set up documents in school anymore" and a lot of other things that the printer had said to discredit me. I get the impulse, but what he didn't know is that I'm a late in life graduate, I'm almost into my 30s and I've been freelancing off and on for the last decade. And I know how to set up a file. Unfortunately will never work with this business again, I would have greatly appreciated it if the printer had reached out to me with his concerns, instead of bashing me to the client. read more

I was desperate to find a place that could print a photo on mug within two days. I tried so many websites and companies (Walgreens, Vista Print, Snapfish, you name it- none of them could make the time frame even with rush processing/delivery). Lucky for me, I found this place. I put in an online inquiry late the night before, and first thing in the morning someone emailed me to let me know how much everything would cost and that it would take 24 hours or cost 50% more if needed the same day. I went ahead and ordered rush processing and it was ready within 4 hours. The customer service here was great, we emailed back and forth many times and even submitted payment via an online form. The folks behind this basement level print shop seem in good spirits, are quick to lend a hand and from what I've seen, and most importantly they deliver print jobs lickity split. If you're working on a tight deadline, they'll squeeze it through. My passport photo took 5 minutes in and out. The place could use a sprucing up, the chairs had large rips in them and $10 did seem a bit steep for 2 passport photos but it's a good option in a pinch. read more

They were knowledgeable about what the requirements were for a US passport and made sure my photo met the specifications. I found this place in the midst of a printing emergency. After skimming stellar reviews on Yelp I decided to give it a try. Thankfully, I bet right and walked away immensely impressed. I needed a 108 page print job with signatures of 16 (I opted to hand bind the book for personal reasons but ComZone offered many desirable binding options). This job was for my masters thesis and I was working with a firm deadline. ComZone's laser prints were beautiful, their trimming immaculate, and they perfectly scored and folded my signatures together. All of this was done FAST, as in next-day-fast! ComZone was also extremely helpful during the whole process. I must admit I was frazzled and severely lacking sleep when I walked through their door (I was working on my thesis after all) but I was treated with incredibly patient, deft, and hands-on service. When I picked up my print job, I teared up a bit--I spent months on that book and ComZone brought it to life in all the ways I had envisioned. The only reason this place gets 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is because I have only worked with them once. I'll be heading back soon to get some business cards done. Idk what some of these reviews are saying about them being rude, but they helped me out greatly, especially with my first time making two saddle stitch books and a perfect bound book. I ordered one mug with a photo on it, to be ready within two days, and I got one mug with a photo on it ready within one day. It looked great, and it only cost about $16. I think that's pretty amazing. Also, I was parked illegally, right in front of a hydrant, so the woman at the front desk was nice enough to go back to customer service to get my order and bring it to the front, so I could keep an eye on my car. I didn't want to pay the ridiculous mark-up for the ceremony programs and dinner menus for my wedding, so I'd thought to do it myself for cheaper. Even though I wasn't creative, I'd thought "how difficult can putting something together in Microsoft Word and Adobe be." Well, it takes a little bit more practice and know-how and my wedding DIY project would've been a complete mess if it wasn't for Harvey at Comzone. He managed to fix the problems with my amateur-hour print files (e.g., he extended the bleeds in the same color that I'd used) and he mail merges better than Microsoft Word (or at least, this user) can. I am so happy with the results; very high quality paper, printing, and accurate cutting. Did I mention that they're fast? Turnaround time for 150 ceremony programs (in color) and 150 dinner menus (each personalized with guests' names) was 24 hours. My husband picked them up the day of our wedding. Finally, a fast and reliable alternative to Kinko's! I use this place whenever I need printing services for work. Often I'm running on no sleep finishing a project and need things turned around ASAP before a meeting. I've walked into Kinko's before and was given a whole song and dance behind why it takes over 24 hours to bind a small project for me, yet Comzone could turn it around while I waited. Once I discovered Comzone I've never looked back! They are very reliable, will walk through a project with you (ie if I bring them a print job that requires detailed directions), and have very reasonable rates. For an additional $10, they'll even deliver. I've been using these guys for over three years now on everything from straightforward copies to large format printing and mounting. My print job: perfect binding approx 45 color pages (8.5x11) with 6 velum spreads and 1 transparency spread costing $104. Quality: A- Much better than East Side, but I was a little disappointment in the cropping work. The file was standard size, but since they don't offer full bleed prints the pages had to be trimmed and I think they went a little over board but I'll let it slide. Velum came out great, but transparency printing was unsatisfactory, considering I was printing a light color on clear to overlay, I would have appreciated the staff telling me it would be hard to read or not as opac as expected, or that it would need to be reran a couple times for better visibility, but I'll let that slide. Turnaround: A+ (For perfect Binding Only) approximately 24 hours. Service: D For one rude staff member in particular that by no means was willing to inform, quote, or explain various options. This young man so incredibly condescending had I not already paid for my book I would have left. I came in to get some business card quotes and was repeatedly told no with no alternatives or suggestions. Being smart a smart ass to someone who is obviously willing to pay for a service is not only illogical but just bad business. Your staff should not have to pick up your slack, and a price quote will not kill anyone, especially when no one else is waiting to pick up an order. Comzone doesn't do proofs and will go well out of their way to make sure you know how difficult it is for them to answer any hypothetical question. It is true, I don't know jack shit about printing and embossing or even letter press options, that is why you are being paid to show me what I can do with my design, not a wall with a few old cards pinned to it. (WHO a couple of which were falsely advertising services not offered.) If there were any other better places to get a book bound physically in NYC in this area that I know of, I would recommend them, but the quality of the binding and print was pretty good. Take your business cards however to MOO.com where you can get luxe cards and fiery printing for a fraction of the cost. FRACTION, legit I paid $35 and was getting quotes here of over $400... Make sure you always take a physical mockup, I can only imagine what had happened to my book had I not written instructions on literally every page that needed it, but I knew better after East Side ruined my projects one too many times.. Their website is misleading. Their binding services are described at length separately from their printing services. I had a few samples printed on specialty paper (not available from ComZone) and took my project in for a simple staple-bind (saddle stich) and trim. Comzone will not bind any materials you do not pay them to print as well. They offer limited stocks and finishes, which was not an option for my project. If you are particular about your production quality, this might not be the best place. It seems pretty good for standard stock and card stock digital printing. Do not recommend for passport photos. I was insulted when I asked for a retake. The process was fast but they are not friendly what so ever.

Needed last-minute wedding favors, Comzone delivered. I uploaded my image file than a few hours later got a reply requesting a higher resolution file, which was very nice service. The staff was very polite and our order (personalized coffee mugs,) was ready when they said it would be! I can't speak for those other people who had a bad experience here, but I would definitely try them again the next time I need printing. read more

I just went to Comzone based on the reviews I saw on yelp. I went in to get 2 color copies on standard 8 x 11.5 paper. Extremely simple. I was thinking at most 80cents a page or something. My total was $5.44. Yes 5 whole dollars. Really? for 2 color copies? on standard paper? make sure you ask about the price before you get them to print. I feel completely cheated and ripped off. will never go back. read more
