We own/operate five small apartment buildings and have regularly purchased coin-operated laundry…read moremachines from this company over the years. When I recently replaced one of these machines with a new unit, I requested that they relocate the still-functional older machines to the adjacent building. Unfortunately, they dropped the machine and damaged it, refusing to acknowledge the harm. Dan reacted as if I had run over his cat when we informed him that his team had dropped the machine. Given that they are in the business of delivering and relocating machines, I did not consider this outside their scope of work; as a longstanding customer, I anticipated this would be a straightforward matter. Dan's behavior resembled that of a schoolgirl whose ponytail had just been pulled--if she were a 250-pound sassy bully in a bar. At that moment, it became evident that this individual was not managing a friendly family enterprise but was instead intent on shouting and speaking over me in unwarranted anger. Recognizing that his conduct was merely sad bullying, I found no productive way to resolve it at this point. To compound the issue, one week later, a machine I purchased six months prior malfunctioned at a men's group home. Dan delayed the warranty service for three weeks, giving the group home manager excuses such as being busy or on vacation, and ultimately refused to honor the warranty. So, because we accused them of dropping the washing machine during the previous delivery, he stated, "I will not warranty your machine." This family business should consider retiring the unpleasant and abusive proprietor. It is advisable to avoid this company and instead patronize larger retail establishments. Such evolution is inevitable; unfortunately, Albers does not evolve in this manner. STAY AWAY. Clearly going down.

This December (2020--the refrigerator is about a year and a half old), it started to leak and then it stopped cooling in the same day. I called Fortney's and told them the situation. They couldn't even recommend a service provider to help me and offered NO service help whatsoever. They said they also didn't have any other refrigerators they could sell me. They were not even interested in doing business with me--someone who paid a lot for what was supposed to be a decent product from them. I found Kitchen Aid service providers on my own and all of them claim that Kitchen Aid knows that this particular product has a bad compressor, however, I was never notified about this by either Kitchen Aid NOR Fortnoy's. Unacceptable. One service company told me that they couldn't find any compressors for this appliance but if they could, the job would cost $2000. Meanwhile, I called the factory service 5 times in 2 days, as the compressor has a 10-year warranty which is clearly stated in my manual. I finally was able to schedule a certified service provider to come out to look at the refrigerator--for 11 days after it died--however, when I called to see if they'd have the part that seems to be in high demand, they refused to answer me. I asked for a supervisor to call me back, but to this day, no one has. I again reached out to Fortney's, who finally answered me via email and engaged a service company (Flamingo Appliance Service) to come out sooner than I had previously scheduled on my own. The provider came out and claimed that the part isn't under warranty, and when I said it was, just laughed and claimed they couldn't fix it because the part is not available. I have been given no answers in this experience, except for additional headaches. DO NOT GO TO FORTNEY'S.

Over the next couple weeks, I had to keep calling, and each time I got a different excuse--part needed, delays, then backorder with no ETA. When I said I'd pick it up on May 26th, it suddenly became "ready" the same day, which makes me question how much was actually done. At home, I realized they forgot the power cord. The machine was still dusty and feels worse than before. I paid $400, and it looks like all they did was adjust the tension. Poor communication and not worth the money.
