We had a new front door installed last year, along with a few new windows, and extensive exterior trim work replaced by UHE. Their work was excellent; they cleaned the job site well daily; and the work has held up well. Today a trim piece came loose on the (newer) front door. We panicked, as our house is on the market. They took the time to answer questions, explain the process, and ensure we were comfortable with the scope of work. Most importantly, the quality of the workmanship was excellent. The crew was efficient, respectful of the property, and left everything clean when the job was complete. It's not easy to find contractors who are both capable of handling more complex projects and committed to strong customer service, but this team delivered on both. Look they did some work for me and the employees put the insulation in backwards with the paper face in the house which caused a huge delay in the plaza going up. They also refuse to add the baffles to my ceiling which had already called ice dams previously and I know that I had a neighbor that tried to do some work with them. It's very frustrating to get anything done and this guy isn't helping you much at all. The work on the trim they did on my windows. It's very haphazard too much cock and and only one of the windows look good. I had to have them come back multiple times to repair. Avoid for siding - fine for doors & windows. We used UHE to replace our entry door and two large picture windows. That experience was positive and we were happy with the work, which led us to use them for our siding -- first a portion of the house, then the whole house. Our experience with the siding project was a frustrating and costly ordeal. Before moving forward with the full house, we met with the owner to share feedback on no-shows, work quality issues, and billing problems. Despite that conversation, things got progressively worse. There were repeated no-shows, crews arriving late and working in the dark, and most troubling, family members on the work site assisting with the job. They also damaged the interior walls of our home. While they did eventually fix the damage, we had to constantly chase them to show up, and ultimately I painted the walls myself after weeks of failed follow-ups. The finish work was poor overall. There are gaps in the siding, and they failed to reattach gutters, split covers, and light switches. The site cleanup was unacceptable -- with young children at home, finding nails, screws, and razor blades scattered everywhere was a serious hazard. They also left trash stuffed in our bushes, including takeout containers/utensils, soda bottles, and plastic bags. We are still chasing them to address several outstanding items captured in our photos, and ultimately hired another company to fix our gutters. For smaller work like doors and windows, they may be fine -- but I would strongly avoid them for any large-scale project. I do not recommend UHE and would strongly advise you look elsewhere if deciding on window / door replacement companies. Good points: - Sales process went smoothly (rep was responsive, polite and took good photos/notes to document the project/plan). The sales experience, combined with strong Google reviews helped us select UHE. - ProVia window & door products appear to be solid. - Lucas, who was re-assigned to our project after significant issues (see more in the negative section) was excellent, hard-working, polite and UHE is lucky to have him. Negative points: - Installation process was a disaster, with an inexperienced crew that was new to UHE (evidenced by the installation manager telling them if they wore their UHE shirts, showed up on time and did a good job, they could get more work). They nailed the t-shirt part, but failed at the rest. We also had an installation manager who was nice/friendly, but did not demonstrate a quality mindset, did not catch / remedy any issues (and there were plenty) and seemed disconnected with her crew. A few examples include missing screws on door hinges (holes for 4 screws in each hinge, but several only had 2 or 3 screws after we were told the door was complete), missing an entire side of support screws when installing a new window, using insulation to support/fill a 1.5-2 inch gap above a door rather than filling it with a board (they called their top supervisor and were told filling it with insulation was wrong and had to fix this) and not hanging an inswing door properly (uneven gaps around perimeter of door - this was another one that the crew said was "done" and then later was re-done by someone who knew what they were doing). The crew was also 1.5 - 2 hours late each day, despite telling us each night the next day would be different. These are just a few of the issues, but hopefully show you enough to caution working with UHE. UHE did assign us another crew & installation manager after we experienced 3 days of continuous issues and felt like we had to have eyes on the work to identify & communicate issues as they arose. The situation did improve with a new crew, but there were still delays due to miscommunications between workers & management and overall, it didn't seem like a well-run company. Lucas was the one highlight (assigned to fix many of the issues from the first crew with another co-worker) and if you get Lucas, you've got a good one, but do you really want to roll the dice with UHE and take the chances of getting a bad crew and an installation manager that will pop in/out while balancing multiple jobs? I selected UHE because of the strong Google reviews, but would caution others to consider other options as I can't recommend UHE based on our experience. read more

Please use caution when considering United Home Experts. Their lack of accountability and poor communication turned what should have been a straightforward and exciting project into a frustrating, disappointing and costly experience. We hired United Home Experts to modify two door openings and add new doors and to replace an existing door with modern high-end doors. Unfortunately, the project was plagued with errors, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. One of the doors we selected was ordered with a 6" jamb depth, even though our walls are only 4". This critical detail was never explained to us until after the non-refundable door had been ordered. To make matters worse, the same door was also ordered swinging in the wrong direction. Full disclosure, I did sign a contract which showed the wrong door swing, I do not argue this point, but prior to the order, I received a message in United's online portal noting a discrepancy in their notes about door swing and the contract but the wording and schematics were written in shorthand that I couldn't understand. I replied asking for clarification before the order was placed, but I never received a response. The door was ordered anyway -- and the company refused to take any responsibility, even though my documented request for clarification is in their system. Other issues included: * Damage during installation: One new door was cracked in the frame during installation. While the company offered a discount for this damage, I am now left with a damaged "brand new" door. * Disorganized communication: We were contacted through a confusing mix of text messages, emails, portal messages, and phone calls from at least five different representatives. This lack of consistent communication undoubtedly contributed to errors. * Lack of transparency in billing: Despite repeated requests, the company would not provide an itemized invoice separating door/hardware costs from labor and materials. This seemed unusual and made it difficult to understand what we were actually paying for and if "discounts" were just a small dent in mark-up. * Trim/Finishing: United was unable to match our home's custom trim and flooring. The attempt to blend with existing finishes and trim is close, but does not match the other trim. Overall, the company did not do a good job explaining door specifications to the average homeowner, which led to costly mistakes, additional re-orders, and a project timeline that doubled. While they offered a discount on one replacement door, the original wrong door remained full price -- leaving me with an expensive, unusable door that does not fit my home. Even after I wrote a formal letter to management, my concerns were never acknowledged which I found very interesting since they seem to be responsive to their google reviews. After more than six months, our project is technically "finished," but I am left with regret, a damaged new door, and an extra door that I have no use for and will likely have to sell for a big loss. read more

We used UHE twice, once in Sept 2023 for windows, and again in Jun 2024-Jan 2025 for windows and siding. The window installation team (Lucas, Hugo, and Daniel) was very good, which is why we hired UHE again. The window team had to return to make some adjustments after the windows were installed, but overall, they were professional and seemed to care about their work. They are the reason that UHE gets even 2 stars for this review. The siding part of the project was a nightmare, from communications logistics with the project manager (Scott) to the siding team subcontractors (the "A team") assigned to our project. UHE told us that our house would be fully protected from the weather (at a minimum, with housewrap) by the end of every workday. They told us that their team would protect our plants. They told us that since we were using a new product (steel siding), that there would be a lot of back-and-forth between us and them as they perfected the techniques for installation. They told us that they would have a plan to avoid damaging our 2-year-old aluminum roof. They told us that they would clean up the jobsite at the end of each day and do a final cleanup at the end of the project. They broke all those promises. The siding team did not show much regard for our property or our neighborhood. The house was left unprotected from the weather several times. Cutting PVC left plastic bits all over. The siding team cleaned up by blowing the plastic further into the yard. Scott belittled our concerns about having plastic bits in the gardens where we grow food. We routinely found nails in the lawn, driveway, and road. They didn't safeguard our materials or their own tools. They had to buy new materials many times because of how much they wasted. The siding team was highly variable; one day they would perform as skilled craftsmen, while the next day, it seemed like they'd never been on a construction site. The siding team caused damage to the house that they tried to cover up. When we found the damage (broken door frame, cracked window frame, pieces cut off the roof), they denied that they had caused the damage and tried to tell us that it was pre-existing. They did eventually admit to causing the cracked window frame and replaced that window. The level of dishonesty in causing damage and not declaring it immediately (and actively trying to cover it up, hoping that we wouldn't notice) was astonishing. The backpedaling of blame acceptance made it far worse. We had to complain to the BBB before they would finish the work. Communication between the siding team and us was hindered by a language barrier. Scott assured us that he would relay our requests to the team so that we would get the installation that we wanted. Scott, when he was even on site, was dismissive of most of our requests. It's unclear whether Scott told the siding team what we wanted, if they understood the request, or if the siding team chose to ignore the directions. We witnessed Scott giving directions that were violated within hours. We insisted on UHE following the manufacturer specifications for installation of housewrap, insulation, and siding. Scott told us that our request was "not the UHE way," meaning that they routinely ignore manufacturer specs. Over and over, we made clear what we wanted and pointed out that the way it had been done was not what we wanted. We finally went above Scott's head to pull in the "big boss," and we were told that we should be happy with the outcome and that UHE didn't know that we were unhappy with the work. It's unfathomable that they couldn't have known, given that we made multiple requests in person, on the phone, and in a massive text thread. It's far more likely that UHE thought they could pit the homeowners against each other. In the end, the house looks good, but that's only because we insisted on them correcting their mistakes. If I had to do it over again, I would use a different company and/or hire my own full-time construction supervisor. OVERPRICED RUBBER ROOF - In 2022, I had a rubber roof put on my single wide mobile home 14'x70.' At the time I didn't know I could cover my home with a tarp and wait for estimates from different companies. I didn't want my home getting damaged by rain, so I signed on with them. They charged $20,000. Afterwards I told friends I had a new roof put on and they were shocked at the price. They said it should have only cost $10,000. United Home Experts did do a good job and they were very nice to work with, but they were way too expensive. read more

This review is based on some work I had done several years ago. Overall, a completely terrible experience. I purchased a new Marvin bay window and front door. While moving the window into place, the installers left enormous scratches all over my hardwood floor. During the install, one of the installers shot a nail through the window frame into a wire, shorting out my entire room. Instead of taking ownership and fixing the problem, the "project manager" insisted that the problem must have existed before the work was performed, only acknowledging fault after I completely lost my cool. Very disappointed with UHE. My mother in law needed someone to repair and paint the wood siding on here home. After listening to UHE and their promises of quality and customer service we picked them. The repair work was good but as soon as they started painting it was obvious that they were rushing and the paint was peeling before they finished. I sent an email expressing her concerns and they responded and repainted. Now the second coat is peeling. 6 months ago we were promised a visit to review the problem but no one showed up. Emailed our salesperson Mike on 5-31-21 to ask if we could have someone come back to address a few more concerns. For context: When Mike came for quotes, he bragged about the company having re-done the siding on ENTIRE HOMES in the past, suggesting that United Home will always stand behind their work. Also sent a text message to Mike on 6-5-21 asking when I could expect to receive a response to my email. As of this writing, I have received NO RESPONSE to either my email or my text message so I am assuming that this means, they have no intention of following up on any concerns we still have following a project that cost $26,478 last year. Current concerns: There are many GAPS now in the rakes which require expansion foam and caulking. We do understand some expansion and contraction, however, 1/4" gaps are excessive. See photos. The gutters all need adjusting, there is standing water in all of them, especially the one over the garage where they initially forgot to install the downspout on the right side. When the man came back to install the forgotten downspout it appears that the pitch was only slightly adjusted downward towards the new downspout versus the downward pitch on the left side. NOTE: This is the THIRD (3rd) set of gutters we have had installed on our home and every company who has replaced them has assured us that they will be done correctly, so United Home is certainly not alone in this regard. The handle of the front door has been hitting the inside of the exterior storm door and it now has a gouge on it. We had previous issues with the alignment of the two new exterior storm doors. This may seem minor but these two doors should NOT be hitting each other after the money we paid to replace them. JOB HISTORY Initially Mike came to meet with us 2-3 times and provided 3 quotes. Quote 1 ~$60k Included Everlast siding and items in Quote 3 Quote 2 ~$40k Included conventional siding and items in Quote 3 Quote 3 ~$25k - includes new soffits, rakes, gutters, 2 new exterior doors and 2 new storm/screen doors. A large cash deposit for Quote 3 was given and the carpentry crew was on the way to our house 7 weeks later to first install the doors. After install they came back to adjust the exterior screen doors that were not closing properly. After the adjustment I sent a video to Chris showing there is still an issue with closing. The doors were adjusted with an IMPACT WRENCH and both striker plates were bent more than they already were in the first place and most of the machined screws were irreparably damaged. They had to order replacement parts. Received a text from Chris Re: Extra soffit work in progress. They had to cut and add new framing to the soffits in order to install new rake boards. Extra charge will be $985. We saw the work in progress happening so we expected the extra charge. Scaffolding was removed from the driveway and they finished up at the end of the day. I texted Chris back later in the day to let him know that the downspout on the right side of the double-car garage was Missed and NOT INSTALLED. Also texted Chris to say "My husband checked around last night and found some screws in the yard and gardens as well. We were mostly concerned about picking screws up in our car tires so my husband blew the driveway off with his leaf blower". Suggested they use a magnet THEN a blower on driveways as a practice. Response back was "True. Very honestly your house was much harder and much more work than planned. They finished up at 6 pm last night pretty tired. Not an excuse just an explanation". I guess a job that cost $26,478 isn't supposed to be hard or time consuming? Concerning response from Chris We paid an extra $985 for soffit work NO QUESTIONS ASKED so United Home was fairly compensated for the extra day and unexpected work. The start date for OUR job was DELAYED because United was held over at a PREVIOUS job, so it seems to me that this is commonplace. Why would you complain to a customer about needing an extra day to finish when you are being PAID for it? Sent text and pictures to Mike about 3 issues: 1. Motion light on the back gable end of the house was knocked out of place but my husband somehow got it back into place without a ladder and being 2 stories off the ground. 2. The light on the left side of the sliding door was dislodged from the wall and bees started building a nest in there. 3. A piece of new PVC rake board is warped near the front door Texted Mike asking if he was going to respond to the 3 issues, NO RESPONSE. 10 days letter I sent Mike a video of water pouring off the gutters due to missing rain deflectors, NO RESPONSE. SEE A PATTERN HERE? I have 3 PAGES of notes and many photos I kept on this job and only limited space to post details here. United Home Experts is the definition of a greasy car salesman. I felt like I needed to shower after dealing with them. We needed to have the siding done on our house. I reached out to 5 different companies to get quotes to find the best balance of price/quality of work. I'd like to think that I can make a fair comparison between United Home Experts and these other companies. My observations: 1) United Home Experts was the most expensive quote, by far. They quoted me $47,200. The range of quotes I received from the other companies was between $27,500-33,000. 2) They operate like a car dealership. When I told them that their quote was almost $15,000 more than the next closest quote, they immediately "checked with my manager" and were able to magically discount their price by $10,000. How a company can slash prices that much blows my mind - clearly they think most people are suckers. 3) My siding was installed in October 2019. Until June 2020 (yes, for over 6 months) I was receiving calls from United Home Experts asking me to reconsider my decision. Even after I told them my siding had already been fully installed. It's like they are robots. Do yourself a favor: get multiple quotes for big projects like this. You'll see that United Home Experts is going to rip you off from the start. read more

I find it extremely hard to believe that most of these reviews on google are genuine especially after our experience with their rep named Paul today. I initially called them to ask if they install "Harvey" windows and was told yes they do. I had their rep come over today and the first thing I asked him was the same question and he said yes but then he tried to tell me that I am making a mistake and so on and should avoid Harvey windows. After having him spend over an hour blabing away about how he likes to help us save money and bla bla, he measured the windows and then went to his car for another 15-20 minutes to come back with a quote. He returns and says that "we don't do Harvey windows" and gives us a quote on some other brand. This is a lousy guy to have in your company. He wasted our time and my day. Avoid this company for roofing services. My husband hired them to re-roof our home in June 2020, and immediately we had some issues with how it appeared the roof would function. The crew supervisor brushed me off. I hired a roof inspector ($$) who said it was the worst job he'd ever seen. The company sent people out to repair issues, which was great except they did not tell us in advance of showing up and starting the work. 4 months later, October 2020, and it is raining inside my master bathroom. We call and email and are told it will be addressed in early December. They inform me the warranty department is very busy (shocker). They finally come Dec. 2020 and repair the issue, and my bathroom no longer rains - but their "leak proof guarantee" warranty department won't return my calls and emails, leaving me to foot the $2000 repair bill for my interior ceiling or attempt the work myself. Recently I had all my windows and siding replaced by United Home Experts (UHE). This was a huge project for me, and something I had been planning for a few years. The sales person, Tim Carelli, was very helpful with discussing options. He listened to what I wanted, and did not want. His estimate included what I wanted, and avoided what I didn't want. Norm Harnick, the Project Manager contacted me to introduce himself and schedule the installation. Norm stops by every day or so to check on the progress and solicits feedback/concerns. The days he is not there, he calls to check in to see if you have any issues, which I never did. The on-site supervisor, Andre, was great to work with. He has a wealth of construction experience and is able to easily handle any issues which arise. Andre's crew: Joel, Mateus, Leomir, and Darci were professional, respectful, friendly, and worked as a high-performing team every day for two weeks. They always cleaned up as they went along. I have a few medical conditions, and I was upfront with Tim, Norm and Andre about the extra help I needed. They could not have been more accommodating. I honestly was not looking forward to having people in and out of the house for a couple of weeks. They quickly changed how I felt. I actually looked forward to seeing them. If you need windows or siding replaced, I highly recommend UHE. Ask for Tim to provide you with a quote. If you decide to go with them, request that Norm be your project manager, and Andre, Joel, Mateus, Leomir and Darci to be your installation crew. I had experience similar to others who posted. When things needed discussion, Mike , the sales guy never answered a series of emails. Scheduling for the job (5 window replacements with Provia Encore windows) was bungled and when install "team" finally showed up it was one person. The reason I do not give a lower rating is that the supervisor, Scott, came out to assist. When the installer finished I asked if he was going to clean the windows. He said it was not his job. Install was not highest caliber and I had to do some repairs to framework myself. The windows themselves look fine and I am hoping the high performance reviews I see for the windows will offset the install issues. I advise United to admonish Mike for his customer avoidance. We had United replace a shingled roof, first stripping off 2 layers that had done their time. Salesperson explained the work in advance, scheduling people accommodated our request to fit us in asap. They also did a front siding smaller job, which had to be scheduled around some masonry work, which they did. I asked about the condition of the plywood on the roof deck - they said it looked fine and sent me digital photos for our records. Crews showed up when requested and worked very hard, polite people. We just signed our second contract with United Home Experts this week and found the process to be just as wonderful as the last. At this point, we've had them work on three (3) areas of our home and trust them with the most difficult home remodeling projects. They weren't the cheapest, but their pricing was fair. And I trust that IF we have any issues down the line, that they will be there to service and warrantee the work. I'll pay a little more for that assurance. I had my house painted last summer, and was not satisfied with the job. I discussed my situation and agreed to resolve the issue next spring as it was getting too cold to paint. I contacted United in May and they sent someone out who agreed that it wasn't their best job and promptly told me they would redo the job. They came out and completed the job and I think the house came out great! I think United is a reputable company who stand behind their warranties. Poor communication and poor project management was a constant with them. Gave us the B team and had the A team come back twice to fix the B teams work. Troublesome was the damage done to inner and out walls replacing "tear out" windows. Not only did they NOT not remove the gutters but they damaged them. They then lied about it. I was not happy with your customer service or how you have conducted business. I recently bought my house that had half a new roof and it developed a leak (on the new roof side). When United Home Experts came to examine the house they said we needed an entirely new roof. During the first rain it was leaking in the same place AND had NEW leaks! When you came back out and someone actually looked at the roof it was just a J Channel Dormer. Your "best team" didn't even take the time to check the problem just wanted to make the most money. Taking advantage of someone who is not able to go on the roof themselves. The work site was also not picked up. Hundreds of nails were left in the driveway, grass, and pathway. The BEST thing I have found about using this company time and time again is the consistency of the products they recommend and the workmanship that they deliver....not to mention the outstanding customer service they provide. Two years ago, after obtaining several bids, UHE redid my entire house with the Hardie Plank siding. I could not have been happier- from the initial meetings, through the utmost professionalism shown by the entire work crew (who was there early and worked late and kept things very clean), to the follow up afterwards, i found the entire experience to be first rate. It was so good, in fact, that when i was obtaining bids for a new roof this year, i asked for one from UHE- despite the fact that i had a couple bids for a bit less money, the fact that i was sure they knew what they were doing and would perform admirably was worth the small additional cost. We found UHE at the Worcester Home Show and noticed a special they were offering on a Roof Tuneup and Inspection. Their technician came out on the scheduled day and on time. I explained the issue we were having and within the hour he had fixed what he felt was the cause of the leak. While on the roof he also did a thorough inspection and pointed out a few areas that needed attention. NOTE: he didn't try to sell us on "this needs to be fixed right now". He explained the issues that he found and what he did to hopefully fix the problem. Shortly after he left I received a report, complete with pictures, of the issues he found during his inspection. I haven't been up on our roof in over 10 years so his photos were a big help. I plan on bringing UHE back in the spring to give me an estimate on the other work that needs to be done. I was that impressed with their technician and the company's follow-up. read more
