The thing I remember most about that first meeting was the personalized board they had up welcoming me and my spouse (Mr. and Mrs. D) - a really nice touch, albeit slightly incorrect as I was there with my husband, and when we went back to pick out selections they had updated it to be somewhat more accurate (The D. Family). Jim, the owner, was straightforward when we spoke with him and offered a competitive price compared to the other estimates we received. After we accepted the contract, Jim's sister and the company designer, Kim, was particularly patient with us as we spent upwards of two hours picking out the various components for the new bathroom, successfully finding solutions to mediate style disagreements between me and my husband. Overall, we were both very happy with our selections and excited for the new bathroom to be complete. The workers were excellent and displayed great professionalism during the remodel. The work began in early December, but was stalled a little bit due to the cabinet and vanity not arriving in time. The bathroom was functional, though not finished, before the desired Christmas date. It has been three weeks since the job completed and we have been satisfied so far with the bathroom. With the work, there were two (both immediately fixed) problems that stood out: First, the new toilet was installed slightly at an angle. We emailed Cardigan of the problem. When they came out the next time to continue working on the bathroom, the worker immediately saw the toilet was not level, apologized that he didn't catch it when he installed it, and made the toilet level to the floor. Second, when we started using the shower a week after installation, the shower was draining extremely slowly. Again, I emailed and called regarding this issue, and they fixed it that day despite Jim attending a funeral that morning. One of the workers came by that evening with a snake and fixed the problem. I was extremely impressed at their responsiveness. Overall, I am giving five stars due to the personalization, work quality, responsiveness, professionalism of the workers, and our happiness with the final result. When we finally move on to remodeling our kitchen in a few years, we will definitely be looking at Cardigan. The attached pictures include a picture of the shower before the bathroom was painted, and a picture of the other side of the bathroom after all of the work was completed.

Unfortunately, soon after the toilet began leaking into my basement, luckily I caught it before it ruined my carpet, but it ruined the ceiling and they had to patch the ceiling. So, I go shopping. I have seen the ads for Bray & Scarff, and was checking them against the Big Box stores. A tad higher, but they said they'll match pricing. I call, get a very nice sales lady, Tiffany, just to get pricing, but she was so efficient, friendly, and quickly matched the Lowes pricing, that I started an order estimate (which she emailed me so I could see a clear bottom line cost). She had matched Lowes and Home Depot. Delivery and take away was the same, but then she told me their delivery people were in-house, not contractors. And she could get the ones I picked out delivered the next day as they had them in stock. So before I knew it, the order is placed and paid for. I had saved some time, and had to head out any way, so I stopped in and chatted with her. Excellent shpowroom. No fancy set-ups, but clean, well organized displays of appliances. Anyway, By later in the early evening, they had a delivery time of 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. This morning (delivery day is today, 6/16/2026), checking emails, at 11:04am, I got an email, said they'd be here in 7 minutes! The delivery men were here early! How often does THAT happen? Only 15 minutes, but still. Delivery was handled by 3 men, and working as a team, had it in and running in a half hour, no dents, scratches, perfectly balanced and placed, and they even test ran them. Excellent service start to finish. Yelp needs a way to give a PLUS to a review. These folks are well above a 5 Star company.

A Legacy Brand Losing Its Touch…read more For nearly a quarter century, we have been loyal customers--every major appliance in our home bears this company's name. Once a symbol of reliability and craftsmanship, its service arm has, regrettably, become a study in decline. Each year seems to bring a new low in professionalism. Service appointments are routinely canceled at the last minute, leaving customers stranded in the scheduling void. The technician assigned to our area, in particular, has redefined discourtesy--arriving unprepared, dismissive, and often unhygienic. Shoe coverings, once a simple mark of respect for the household, are flatly refused. When asked for explanations or details about repairs, responses come laced with impatience or outright rudeness. It is disheartening to witness a brand once associated with trust erode so steadily at the hands of its own representatives. After decades of loyalty, we are left to wonder whether the company remembers what service once meant--or if it now believes its long-time customers will simply tolerate neglect disguised as business as usual.

Happy to say that they did a beautiful job. Loui, the owner was extremely communicative and offered many great ideas. The workers arrived on time daily and completed the job in less than 1 month. I knew about the quality of work of this company before as they did my full kitchen and den renovation back in 2018, that is why I didn't hesitate to contact them again for the bathrooms. They are extremely good on every detail and will walk you through the process of the renovation. Take my word, they are that good! Will hire them in the future for the installation of new flooring for the home.

He showed me everything before making it final and I had to run out so he text me that he would need to modify the cabinet to accomodate the sink. He even lowered a chandelier I had that my last contractor left too high. I will be hiring the team again to install my hood range and backsplash.

He is an excellent communicator, and his workers were not only courteous but very skilled at their respective jobs. He was able to finish my basement in a timely manner with high-quality materials. I could not be happier with the work Brown's Custom Contracting did within my home. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. Jim's guys are the best and I highly recommend his service to anyone looking to improve their homes. I have included pictures of the job before and after just so you can see the quality of work.

There were a wide variety of options to choose from as far as what color/pattern of granite we could have installed. We spoke with Atila who came to our home to measure. It was done in a clean way, they are a pleasure to work with and they asked all of the important questions to make sure that they installed it just as we would want.
