They were very helpful in renting us a wheelchair van. The vehicle was great, and everything went fine until the return. We were told to leave it at the airport valet on the morning of our departure, but the valet was very confused and was asking us a lot of questions about who from United would be picking it up and when, etc. We couldn't get answers from calling United Access, but we obviously couldn't miss our flight. So my wife called the sales/rental rep's cell number (which was provided in her email in case we had questions) and she proceeded to be extremely rude and disrespectful to my wife about calling early in the morning outside of business hours. Made my wife cry in the middle of the airport while we were trying to navigate through everything. Don't provide your cell if you don't want your customers using it. In my field of work, I don't provide my cell to anyone for this reason. Some do, or have an alternate business-only number. I emailed the rep asking for an apology, and she left a voicemail that wasn't really a true apology. Terrible customer service. Don't know if this is her first ever customer service job, but don't provide numbers you don't want people calling. The General Manager was sympathetic and agreed that was unacceptable at least. read more

It's a long story but we bought a salvage title van and had it taken here for service. We live on an island in the middle of the Pacific, and I was orchestrating this from a long way away. I just had to trust that they would take care of us. They did. Rory did a fine job of keeping me informed of what needed to be done, hooked me up with a couple deals for add-ons, and even delivered the van to our friends home. I later learned that some friends here purchased their van there, and they are very happy with the people they dealt with. I'm going to continue dealing with them in the future. read more

United Access - BraunAbility review I contacted BaunAbility - Indiana & received very prompt answers to my questions thus I found United Access, the BranAbility dealer in Portland, OR not far from my home in Washington. Jemal communicated really well with me as I conducted my extensive research on this product and other options. I purchased a new truck and Jemal got the seat ordered it right away and lined up the truck for the installation. I had United Access, Portland Oregon install a BraunAbility Turny EVO handicap seat with simulated leather & the heated seat options installed in my new 2018 Ford 4X4 F-150 CrewCab truck. I was worried that the 4X4 would be too high for wheel chair transfers on my handicap wife. Jemal said it would work so I decided to move forward with the installation. The seat lowers to a VERY easy transfer height even in a factory-height 4X4 truck application. For those needing an all weather handicap vehicle, as I do in the Pacific NW, I would not hesitate to install the BraunAbility Turny EVO seat into a stock-height 4X4 application. Jemal, Rory, their Lead Mechanic, their Administrative Assistant & the United Access Team were fantastic. Very professional and obviously know what they are doing. We installed the arm rests a week later when I determined that the armrests are needed. There is a slight "rub" on the console to left arm rest (passenger side installation of seat), but nothing to worry about (they told me this in advance for my application & the rub is acceptable). The BraunAbility Turny EVO seat is a Perfect for my wife & my needs! A very good alternative to a conventional van or sedan application, again where you want or need the truck and 4X4 application. Order the heated seat, simulated leather, arm rests AND lap-belt when you have it installed. I look forward to being a continued customer with United Access and BraunAbility as well. Performance Mobility was once a great place to bring your car. However, after the past two experiences I have had there, I will not go back. The first one: I brought my wife's car in to have to have the door serviced. After spending $250 the door had the exact same issue. Okay, I get that sometimes you have to take the car back to find the problem. I didn't get around to it so I can accept some of the blame. The second one is really the worst. I dropped my wife's new car to get hand controls installed. When the car was ready, a week later, Jesse informed me he could not release the car without a letter from my wife's doctor. A) My wife has been driving with hand controls for 20 years. B) Jesse (or someone at Performance) couldn't have told me a week ago? C) As a long-standing customer, I don't appreciate having my wife's car held up so she can't use her only mode of transport. OK, I got that settled, had the note faxed over, paid the $1700+ and asked them to leave the car at the airport. They told me they would. We got in from our flight and guess what? No text, no call, nothing. It's 9:00 at night and I look for the car for 40 minutes. We finally had to take a taxi home. I get a call from Jesse this morning, and he tries to put this on me. When something goes wrong, blame the customer? Cya? I know there are not a lot of options in Portland for this type of service, but really? I want to say one final thing: Jamal has always been great. My father is disabled and confined to an electric wheelchair. While Lift allows short trips to appointments, my father was not able to get out and experience life as he knew it. Recently moving back to Oregon from Arizona, he wanted to see the coast again. After searching for a way to fulfill that wish, I came across United Access. On my initial call, Amber was helpful beyond my expectations. Once I realized I was going to make Dad's wish come to true, I was overcome with emotion. I arrived to pick up the van and again Amber took her time to show me safe operations and quickly guide me through the paperwork. This experience was positive in every way possible. We were able to get to the coast, smell the ocean-air, and enjoy a nice meal while looking out over the ocean. My father was on cloud-9 and I was so happy that he was happy. The van worked perfectly to load and unload my fathers (large) chair and get him in and out. Operations of the van was simple and straightforward. And Amber's customer service and caring-attitude totally made the experience a positive one. I hadn't used my wheelchair ramp in awhile and it was making some noise, so I took it in to Performance Mobility to be looked at. Jessie checked it out and said it just needed a little oil. He took care of it and I was able to pick up my van with 24 hours. The guys there were also kind enough to recommend an asking price on my van, given that I am listing it for sale. I've dealt with other mobility providers in the area, and these guys were definitely the nicest to deal with.
