BUYERS BEWARE! I wish I had read these reviews prior to…read morepurchasing anything from Progress Mobility, LLC. It seems their reputation for rudeness and lack of customer service is well documented. I purchased an E-Wheels EW-29 Red Trike R29-479 from Progress Mobility, LLC for $1500 in July 2018. I was so excited about this purchase. I received the Trike only to learn that the design is way different than a standard bicycle. The distance from the center of the seat to the center of the pedal apparatus is only approximately 5", where on a regular bike that distance is a little over double that distance at approximately 13.5". The result is that the seat is virtually on top of the pedal apparatus making it very difficult and, in my case, impossible to pedal. It literally feels like the pedals are behind me, which makes it impossible for me to pedal. In addition, the Progress Mobility website also states that the weight specifications for the EW-29 Trike is 400lbs but I weigh 270 and the tires depress to where they look almost flat when I mount the bike. I contacted Progress Mobility right away to let them know that I love the idea of the Trike but that for me the design makes it impossible for me to operate it and that I would need to arrange a return. Progress Mobility immediately took a rude and defensive tone and spoke over me. It seems easy enough to keep a happy customer by trying to work with them. I am sure their employees are great when all is going well. However, it's times like these that separate the good companies from the bad. My hope is that Progress Mobility would want to be one of the good ones. I don't mind paying a re-stocking fee if the return was my fault, but the way it is advertised is misleading at best and false at worst. I should not incur a bunch of fees for a product I can't even use. Very disappointed. Feel used and abused. Wanted to warn my fellow consumer.
