Both had some minor mechanical issues (mainly with the canopies falling apart because the hardware was loose). The on/off switch on one of the scooters started failing after a few days - turning the key to the of position did nothing, the scooter remained powered up. Then the switch failed completely - the dash indicators showed that it was powered on, but the scooter wouldn't move. I had to push the thing up a ramp for about 50 feet - this was a challenge at I'm disabled hence why I needed that scooter in the first place. NEVER AGAIN will I rent from this company.

This is our first time renting & first time using a scooter/ECV. I rented for my 82 year old mother…read morewhile we were in Disney World. Renting a scooter/ECV thru ScooterBug, Orlando was the best thing we ever did for visiting Disney World! Their staff is extremely friendly & helpful. Do yourself a favor & call them with questions. I booked the portable Resort Lite ECV scooter online for my mother after reading all ECV descriptions. I called to add a shade to our reservation. The rep asked me a few questions about our expected usage. I reserved the portable scooter for the included 2 batteries figuring double the battery life would get us thru the day. The rep/manager (sorry I forgot your name) explained that the 2 batteries equal the total charge of 20 mile range not a total 40 mile range. Since we were staying on Disney property, she explained that we didn't need the portability & would be better off renting the Resort ECV & turn off the scooter whenever we weren't moving. Turning it off & on worked like a dream. The battery lasted all day & never went into the red/low battery zone. We had a hiccup when we arrived at our Disney Resort Hotel. The scooter wasn't there. After calling & complaining to ScooterBug, I then called to apologize as it was Disney that dropped the ball. We changed Disney Hotels & the Disney Hotel rep said they would notify ScooterBug of our new hotel location & never did. ScooterBug was able to get the scooter to us the next day & I even got a text notifying me of its arrival. Our hotel's Bell Services showed us how to use the scooter. Mom adapted quickly & easily to using it. I even rode it a few times as she had trouble navigating the theme park turns in the line queues. I found the queues easy to navigate. The scooter can make the tightest of turns! We used the basket on the front to hold our water bottles & bags. Our bottles & bags made it easy to find our scooter amongst the sea of scooters in Disney World. We used the scooter in Magic Kingdom, Epcot & Hollywood Studios. The scooter gave us a magical experience at all 3 parks. If you ever need a Scooter/ECV while in the Orlando area, ScooterBug is the one to rent from!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience trying to get my prescribed APAP machine through the…read moreRotech location in Orlando. My sleep specialist sent my prescription over in mid-May, and I was specifically told to call and speak with someone named Thalia regarding the order. Since then, I have left three voicemails and have received zero response. No call back, no update, no confirmation that my prescription was received, no explanation of whether insurance authorization is pending, and no information at all about when I might actually receive the machine. This is not a minor customer service issue. This is prescribed medical equipment that I need for my sleep apnea, and the lack of communication has been incredibly frustrating and concerning. At this point, I do not even know if my order is being processed or if it has fallen through the cracks completely. I understand delays can happen, especially with medical equipment and insurance, but there is no excuse for leaving a patient with no information after multiple attempts to reach the office. A simple return call would have made a huge difference. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location. The lack of responsiveness and follow-through has made an already stressful medical situation even worse.

So I called my local supplier. Their phone has a Rotech phone tree. They seemed to have a streamlined order system. It could be done by voice or phone. Supplies came, although slowly. There were problems if I had to speak to someone on the phone. Rotech has obviously outsourced overseas their customer service. They were hard to understand, Yesterday was the worst. Someone called to tell me my insurance had declined coverage, I couldn't get much info from the person who called. I asked if my Pulmonologist had forgotten to send in a new prescription. He seemed to indicate that was the case but insisted I call the local office. He said that they would know exactly what needed to be done. He also told me to ask them to take off the "pick up" order. Did this mean they were come and get my CPAP? He would give me no further information or guidance except to call my local office. It was after closing hours locally when he called. So I called the local office this morning. Niya was extremely nice. After checking my account & Medicare number for accuracy she couldn't see a reason for the problem. My Pulmonologist had sent the prescription. So that wasn't the problem. She promised to research the issue and determine the problem, which wasn't something the Rotech Call Center ever offered to do. She also said Customer Service had been wrong about their being able to remove the "pick up" order. Rotech had to do that. I wish the acquisition had never happened.
