The same tech did all three of my services, which was nice. I'm pretty protective of my nail beds so I only do regular polish ever, but wanted to consider doing a rubber based gel. The staff was very kind in talking me through the options and helping me decide to stick with regular polish. The results was a beautifully shaped manicure, a pedicure to match, and perfectly shaped eyebrows. The interior is nicely decorated, and this is one of those nail shops that serves beverages with a service, so I had a hot ginger tea it was absolutely exactly what I needed and delicious. My only complaint, is that I was not given the advertised Bday discount. The website says there is a 10% birthday discount that never expires. When I asked about a discount at checkout, my nail tech was unaware and very kindly went to inquire. One of her colleagues came over and input a five dollar discount, which was definitely less than 10% of my bill. Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the wait was short. I like them slightly coffin, grinded down thin and sharp edges. Exactly this. My ocd is terrible, and I will peel them off in a hot second if they are 'off'. I could tell Vy was a little annoyed at how specific I was being - I also couldn't decide on color or design, it was one of those days - but she did exactly as I asked and I am so happy with them! Sam did my pedicure, and it was so relaxing and she did the polish perfect. I usually go to another spot that I really do like, about 30 minutes from my house but Charming nails is only 10 minutes. This is my new spot, I am very happy with my experience.

My hands, however, are a nightmare. I got Gel X done. 2 days later a nail pulled off while I was pulling up my leggings... literally not rough on my hands at all. I went back in to get it fixed (it was painful) and they offered to glue it down... I literally just got them done, I'm not sure why there was any push back about getting it fixed. So they fixed it and then told me to be careful on them like it was a me issue and not a quality issue... Lo and behold, I've had 2-3 more nails pull up and break since getting them done, and have been using glue to hold them on and get me by until my next appt. It's been exactly 2 weeks. That's insane. I went to a hole in the wall nail salon in Orlando and they lasted perfectly for 3 weeks without breaking or pulling up at all. I'm highly disappointed in the quality of the Gel X service here. I've had it done several places and this is by far the worst, unfortunately. Side note: they won't see you as a walk in if they can't leave on time. I've had many other salons see me and stay past closing, and there would be other people getting their nails done too past closing, not just me. Thought that was a normal thing. So that definitely didn't sit well with me when I rushed through almost 2 hours of traffic to make it there, and they couldn't stay 20 mins past closing time to fit me in.

I went to get my nails done and explained that this was a bridal trial run and I wanted SNS powder Pink and white ombré and I showed a picture of exactly what I wanted. Instead of doing powder, she wanted to do these new TAP nails (which I had before and liked), but I asked if we could do the colors I want with tap and she said yes and that it looked better with ombré if doing tap. She's the expert so I said yes. She started doing two nails of tap and I told her it didn't look bright enough and I showed her a picture again bc I wanted it to look like the color in the picture. She said "don't worry it'll get brighter when the top coat goes on" it did not. I straight up told her that I said I wanted it brighter and that I didn't like it. I asked if there was any way to make it brighter without having to redo all of it. She said no but she could just paint over it. I don't understand why she didn't listen when I originally said I wanted it brighter. She could have been like "okay let's switch and do powder" She said that was her first time doing ombré with the tap stuff but earlier BEFORE SHE STARTED she said the ombré looks better with tap. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU JUST SAID THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME?!? So I made her paint over them and I asked for a discount. I don't even want to pay for nails I don't like. Like I clearly stated at the beginning what I wanted and that I didn't like the color and she was like oh no don't worry it'll be brighter . I didn't plan to get my nails done again until the wedding, but now I have to find someone else. She offered 10% off which was only $5.00. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN 50% off or free BECAUSE SHE DID NOT LISTEN. The man doing my toes didn't even ask me what color I wanted and just started painting them. I was too frustrated at that point to even say anything but wtf???? I'm so disappointed since my first visit was great. This is the first time I've ever left a place without leaving a tip, but I couldn't believe how awful the experience was. She also cut my thumb twice and now my nails are way too thick because she refused to redo them. She could have offered for me to come back the following day to redo them since it was almost closing time, but she rushed out after she was done. Thanks for ruining my nails. Stop forcing the TAP nails down everyone's throat and let your customers choose their colors and do what they ask. See photos for reference. The color is so dull.
