TLDR: Friendly AND fast - a win-win for everyone!…read more Let's just say I'm not always the best at taking care of basic car functions, like oil changes. After a less-than-stellar experience by one of the more local, yet highly visible oil change places in the area, I was none too keen to get my oil changed by them again. Lo and behold, there was a Valvoline nearby, which I had used years ago while living in another state. When I pulled in, there were large flags indicating discounts for LSU faculty and staff (woohoo - a win I wasn't expecting - about 20% off!) and the folks there directed me to pull around into one of the bays. I was there only one there around 9am on a Friday. Brad, Dontae, and Elliot were so friendly and fast at getting my oil changed - took maybe about 20 minutes when all was said and done (including changing out my engine air filter and resetting my dashboard inspection indicator, which is always a hassle - thanks VW for that!). I will definitely be going back when I'm due for my next oil change!

DO NOT USE TAKE 5…read more My wife always brought her car to a place where she would have to wait 30 minutes or so on an oil change and I told her she needed to try Take 5 they are supposed to be 10 minutes and you just sit in the car. We go to this Take 5 and there was a car in each of the 3 bays. Three people were working and we arrived at 9:31 am cars came after us and left after attendant went and talked to them. The car in front of us had a female in it the attendant seemed to enjoy upselling and flirting with. He leaned in her car chatting and laughing with for almost 10 minutes. We were pulled into a bay at 10:11 40 minutes after arriving. They begin working on one of the other cars that were in the bays when we pulled up. I had thought someone had left them but people were in them. They stood around trying to upsell the next car and taking pictures of each other when they did. They finally started my car and we pulled out of there at 10:51 am and $107.00 later. An hour and 20 minutes for a 10 minute oil change. Needless to say my wife's oil change establishment wins the business from now on. Better service and better price. Do not use take 5

Upon leaving the shop, I noticed the vehicle's engine light was on, so I went to an auto parts store to pull the codes. Turns out the technician lost the stock air filter bolt and replaced it with a generic one without a proper washer and left the housing loose. I was able to turn both the original bolt and the replaced one without tools. I decided not to return, as I lost trust in the technician to handle things properly. Ended up ordering a set of replacement bolts and secured the air filter housing myself. Will not be returning to this establishment.

I had only been there and one other place so I assumed it possibly happened at the other place. I detailed my car this past weekend and paid special attention to the damaged area, so I knew exactly what it looked like. I went through the car wash on Monday and noticed new damage in the same area just below the other scratches, when I arrived at work. This time it took a huge chunk of paint and deeper scratches into the paint. I went back to the carwash and asked to speak to the manager. He immediately told me they were not responsible for the damage and it did not happen there. It absolutely did happen there and I will never go back!
