After I complained, I was told that I would receive a coupon for one free day of rental on my next visit. I never received that coupon. After about five minutes, she finally acknowledged me, looked up my reservation, and said she didn't think she had a car available. There was no explanation or communication as she searched. She then attempted to process my driver's license but said the magnetic strip would not scan and told me she could not rent me a car. No alternative solution was offered. I asked if she could transfer the reservation to my partner. She said no. I asked if she could create a new reservation. Again, no. When I asked what we should do, she told us to call the 800 number and wait. We followed her instructions, booked a new reservation, and were told to wait in the corner. While we waited, she helped another customer but did not check back in with us. After completing that transaction, I told her we had booked a new reservation and asked her to check. Within seconds, she said she didn't have it and moved on to another customer without any acknowledgment or follow-up. After waiting nearly an hour with no resolution, we were forced to leave and go to another location

While I was there, two other customers were coming in to hear the same story. In the mean time, I'm out $15.00 on Uber to get to the place and $15.00 to get back home. Again they made us inspect the car for damage, when they are suppose to do it. The car was very uncomfortable to drive, the GPS was in the way and not very user friendly. Needless to say for our inconvenience they should of gave us an upgrade instead of giving us a lesser car. This was a one way car rental to AZ. 1 out of 5 - Worst Rental Experience Ever!…read more I will never rent from Budget again. My family's vacation was completely derailed because of their incompetence and lack of accountability. We reserved a minivan well in advance to comfortably fit our family. We showed up right when the store opened at 8am--except it didn't. The employee strolled in at 8:30 with no apology. Then came the excuses: first, our car wasn't there but would "arrive in an hour." After 45 minutes, he tells us, "actually, no van at all--only an SUV." That completely defeated the purpose of reserving a van in the first place. To make matters worse, when we asked for help, he told us to "call customer service." Guess what? Customer service was CLOSED all weekend and not opening until Tuesday because of Labor Day. When I asked for a manager, I was told, "they're gone all weekend." So basically, no accountability and no help. We were left scrambling and had to take our own car just so we wouldn't miss our trip. The employee assured us we'd get a refund processed on Tuesday. It's now Friday, and of course, nothing has been refunded. This company clearly does not value customers' time, money, or trust. Completely unreliable, unprofessional, and unresponsive.
