We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement. He came over same day to survey the job I was requesting which was to tile the backsplash of a powder room bathroom. Jeff provided a quote to install the tile and finish the work of the bathroom including install of vanity, plumbing, sink, mirror, caulking. His quote seemed reasonable. However due to the holidays and budgeting we elected to only have the tile work performed. He was happy to only do the tile work instead of everything he originally quoted us for. According to my partner Zach, Jeff was very professional to speak to and work with throughout the entire process while I was traveling. Jeff even helped out as a bonus and fixed how our carpet met up with the tile bathroom floor that we had installed ourselves but did not take care of the transition between the tile and carpet ourselves properly. When I came home and saw the tile work I immediately knew it was worth the money. Everything was level on the wall. The tile was expertly cut around the plumbing, and the grout lines everywhere were very clean. He cleaned up after himself so well that you wouldn't of known a day before tile was installed. Lied to our neighbor about killing his plants with some lie about having a relative who tests plants and chemicals blah, blah ... then turned to us and laughed. The owner (Randy) came out and spent a lot of time explaining the proper care and treatment of my particular roof (tapersawn, pre-treated, cedar shake). He is extremely knowledgeable, and I actually learned a lot. While our roof did not look bad, it had darkened over the years due to black fungus that apparently likes to grow on our type of cedar. AAA-1 recommended a two-step process of (1) cleaning the roof and then (after things had dried out), (2) applying a manufactured oil shingle treatment. Two of Randy's workers came out within a couple of weeks and spent most of a day pressure-washing the roof. Our roof's pitch is VERY steep, and it was comforting to see they were well-equipped with safety harnesses and ropes - using the tie-offs along our roof's ridge. Their cleanup was excellent. During the process, our beautiful off-white stucco house was covered in debris from the cleaning. But it was literally spotless - better than before - after they rinsed it all off. A few weeks later, the same crew returned and applied the oil. It looks fantastic now! It is a good feeling to know that our roof has been thoroughly cleaned and treated. Randy suggested a maintenance plan (basically every 3-5 years) to do the same process. We do not get much debris on our roof, so it is mostly sun damage and the black fungus we need to address. The oil also helps prevent curling and/or splitting of the shakes. AAA-1 also cleaned our detached gazebo and garden shed - both of which cleaned up nicely. I highly recommend AAA-1. Knowledgeable, professional, prompt, thorough, and honest are all adjectives I'd use to describe these folks.

I found that local newspaper advertisement worth a coupon/promotional deal of $299 for roof wash up to 1900sq feet! What a deal you would say, right? Wrong! And my husband proved me wrong and being too naive yet again. First of, I tried to schedule an estimation visit and no dates or time were provided. Then I asked them at least notify me of the visit 24 hours in advance, cause I wanted to be present and talk to the estimator. Guess what, I got a call from their office telling me there estimator will be there in 30 min when I was out, so I rushed home immediately and found out that he already left like 2 hours ago! Second, I was patiently waiting for an estimation that day, and the best day, and decided to give them a call, where a nice lady told me that she will send me my estimation in an hour or so. No result! The next day I called again and heard a bs about junk folders or whatnot... Finally, I got my email after that. And what a surprise... Third, surprise was great! My promo/coupon estimated price was $645 plus tax = $712!!! Let me explain also that our whole house area (2 floors!!!) is 1800sq feet! So, even if my roof including slopes is double of one floor area (900 sq feet), it would still be under stated 1900sq f promo! And, as someone already mentioned in their review, their estimate basically said: - We'll wash your roof for xxx $ - If you accept in 24 hours, we'll decrease this by X percent - If you pay by cash/check, we'll decrease this by Y percent No explanation provided of ANY sorts of details of unique case, or basis of provided pricing!!!?!?!! What a joke! It is just a catch for customers! Take your money elsewhere!

But NW Roof Care is way different from my typical experience. Ty and his crew are courteous, clean and explain everything so there are no surprises (well, other than the fact that I live in a very old house and there are always surprises!!) Ty was always on hand when I needed information and his crew is great. During the end of the job they were installing the actual roof tiles and there were scraps of roof all over the place as I left my house to go to a meeting. I came back a little bit later and the whole yard had been cleaned. It was amazing. And the roof - that literally used to wave at you it had so many waves in it - is now beautiful. PROS: Anna was helpful in guiding us through the process, contacting and scheduling other contractors, and helping us through the permitting process. She was also helpful with suggesting design ideas that we ultimately really liked! Julio and his team were very friendly, skilled and for the most part courteous. We really love the final outcome of our dining room and the quality of the workmanship of our deck. CONS: the refinishing of our hardwood floors wasn't the most detailed. As you can see in the photos sanding was missed on the edges. The floor looks better than before, but it's not exactly what we had hoped for. There was some debris left over after the project was completed that we had to take care of, the worst being urine-filled water bottles which was a bit disgusting. It was also discovered after the project was completed and after they left there were personal items of ours that were thrown away, property damage, and our outdoor water faucet was left running which ended up being an increase of about $200 to our water bill. Overall costing us hundreds of dollars out of pocket. We have tried to communicate with Anna about some sort of rectification with no success. Although we do love our dining room and deck, I can't in good consciousness recommend DreamForge Contractors.
