Always looking for a new place to try when we go to the Revolution. Found this nice little place just off the main road in Foxborough. The directions from Waze send you to the back not the entrance, so it seems like there is not any parking when in reality there is. An old VFW converted into a stylish place. Very good size C shape bar. We decided to sit there as the outside seating was full. Great bartender came right over and handed us menus and was really friendly. She made some drink suggestions as well as pointed out fan favorite menu items. I had the brisket grilled cheese and wife had the cheeseburger with a side salad. Her burger was cooked to perfection and my sandwich was a good size portion. I feel like it could have had more of the tasty bbq sauce, but you could tell it was nicely slow roasted read more

Stopped here for lunch while randomly in town due to reviews and was not disappointed. Started with the dry rub wings (side of Korean BBQ) and ranch which was perfect. Then had the smash burger with truffle fries and chicken and waffles. Burger and fries were another hit but sadly a miss on the waffle and fries. The waffle was glazed so it was almost like a donut crusted which was too sweet for me. The tenders were good though. Lastly did the chocolate book which was .... Chocolate. It is not frosting on top it is actually pudding which was different. One app, one dessert and two entrees for $75. Would have liked a little cheaper but it was good! read more

Great food. Outstanding service. An enjoyable birthday lunch. Highly recommend for any occasion. Thanks! *****

My family and I went to the Union Straw on Trescott Street in Taunton. The service was amazing. Our server Parker was friendly, knowledgeable, and relatable. We had our two kids with us and Parker was fantastic with them. The restaurant is intimate and rustic. It has a very historic feel which goes well with the location. The food was amazing. The brought out the food for the kids first. They got the chicken and waffles and the Mac n cheese. Both were amazing dishes. The Mac n cheese was al dente, creamy and the flavor popped and. The chicken was home made breaded chicken strips with home made Belgian waffles, drizzled with sauce. I got the farmhouse burger with sweet potato fries. It was amazing. The sunny side up egg was a perfect accent to the smokey flavor of the beef. It was wonderful. My husband got the Kama Jama chicken sandwich with crispy chicken had a warm heart seasoned bun and spicy Cole slaw that paired well together. If you want a low key environment I suggest going before 4pm. This will get you in before the dinner rush. Both of our boys loved the restaurant as did my husband and I. My youngest absolutely loves it. He said 5 stars all the way. read more

The Servicer was very friendly and accommodating. The brunch Chicken and waffles was delicious. Be sure to get the French toast sticks ...had so much crunch and Nutella dipping sauce. I would definitely return. Pleasant experience. read more

The specials in Saturday Aug 10 were excellent. My SO and I opted for a watermelon wheat beer and the passion fruit champagne spritz with strawberry puree , both great and served perfectly chilled. I cooked have had many more. Peach pizza with bacon and hot honey was extra sticky but finger licking good ! The chefs special of fried rice with five perfectly grilled shrimp and a sunny side egg on top came out flawless. The shrimp were lightly spiced and the egg was a gorgeous touch. Definitely headed back for the new specials and to try the next fall drought beer. read more

I am so over this place. While the ambiance is nice and it's much needed in a town with a lot of chain restaurants they just can't seem to ever get it right here. I've been here at least half dozen times over the past few years but the other night was the worst service in a restaurant I've ever experienced. Literally no one knew what they were doing food was just sitting out drinks got forgotten (35 mins for a beer really?) and the food is always inconsistent as is the staff. A lot of turnover tells you a lot about a place unfortunately. read more

Was brought here by family and have to say was NOT disappointed. The server was very attentive and friendly. The menu is interesting, had the porketta which was excellent. Woukd return read more

Called ahead for a party of 10. Seated right away and then after getting a drink for brunch they had run out of coffee and then they needed a few moments for clean cups. We ordered at 11 mainly eggs, bacon and home fries. We didn't get our food til close to 1 and we all got our food at different times. This was meant to be a goodbye brunch for my sister going to college and it was a waste of money and time. If I could go back in time this would never have been an option. Save your time read more

Where to start. They get a star because the food was okay. The service was horrendous. We were sat right away then took 10 minutes for someone to come give us water. Then another 5 for our waitress to come take our order. We were never asked if we wanted drinks. Our waitress we saw twice. The appetizer came out after our meal. Was such a disappointment because the reviews made it seem like a good spot to stop on our way to the Pink concert. Will not be going back and wouldn't recommend. Go anywhere else. read more

Made 7:45p reservations for a Friday Night after watching the hometown win a High School Super Bowl at Gillette. Atmosphere was great, loud and fun. Drinks were amazing!! Wings were fall off the bone perfection with a tangy Korean BBQ sauce. Let me say the Chicken and Waffles were delicious, sweet and spicy. Waffles were perfect crisp with sugar and syrup and the boneless fried chicken was crispy and spicy with some Hot Honey sauce. The Award Winning Steak was a disappointment. It was loaded with fat and had an inedible line of gristle through the entire cut. Potatoes were good and the duck confit didn't make much sense in the dish (IMO). Service wasn't great as I ordered a second drink before our appetizer had arrived, but we received the appetizer and our entrees before our waitress came back and I could remind her that I never received my second drink. Drinks, Wings, Fried Chicken & Waffles A+'s. Steak and service solid C's resulting in . read more

Perfect dining experience at Union Straw last night! Laura, our server, made sure the water glasses never reached empty. We had the Truffalo Cauliflower (full of flavor), turkey burger (made fresh in house), and the Salmon (cooked perfectly). The manager, Craig, was helping expedite while checking on tables. The whole meal was slightly more than an hour. We never felt rushed. They were very busy. They were just "on point". Kudos to the owners, managers, chefs, and their entire staff. Total team effort resulted in a perfect dining experience. We will be back! read more

Was not expecting that this would be as good as it was. Hard to see the restaurant name from the street but once your in it was a great experience. Server came in and gave good suggestions. Will be back next year during our next tournament. read more

My girlfriend and I ate at the union straw last night and had nothing short of a wonderful experience. Although it was very busy, the host was extremely helpful and gracious, and we ended up enjoying our dinner at the bar where we were served by two outstanding servers, who happened to be leaving for Las Vegas next day on vacation. The menu had tons of great options, and we ended up having a steak option along with waffles and chicken. Both meals were fantastic and we had an awesome time from start to finish. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant for its vast food options, wonderful staff, and overall great experience read more

Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The menu was interesting, but still approachable. What wasn't the best was the price point. I can't imagine the struggle that the business is in at the moment, but holy smokes, I can't justify spending that kind of money on a dish. The chicken and waffles were ok. The chicken very tasty, but the waffle was grainy. The pear and bacon salad had very little bacon and tiny pieces. Again, for the price, it was a little disappointing. The pork belly app was tasty, but not as the menu described. I was expecting candied, sticky bacon and essentially got a piece of smoked bacon. Delicious, but inaccurate. I recommend the place, especially since the area doesn't have a ton of options like this, but just wouldn't become a regular, that's for sure. read more

Atmosphere : FAB! The entrance seating area is so inviting. Great place to grab a drink and head back to a comfy seat to chat while waiting for your table! Lovely woodwork throughout the bar and restaurant as well as the dining room seating was comfortable. We also took a walk to the back patio. Looks like a great place to hang out, enjoy a drink and get into the music (when available!) Food: AMAZING! We stopped in for brunch and we were not disappointed. If you are a pancake fan.. try the blueberry pancakes - YUM! Hash lover? My sis said it was the best she has ever had! The breakfast burritos are delicious. Fresh fruit on the side and pineapple over the top- with sausage and eggs tucked inside.. wow! We loved everything about this place. Fun wait staff as well. A gem in Foxboro. We will be back! read more

The service was great! I have a gluten allergy and they did have a lot of options - that they were able to make gluten free. I got the Kama Jama Sandwich which I didn't think were that great since I had to eat it grilled. While my cousins husband got it fried and said it was amazing. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which said was amazing especially with the honey Buffalo sauce that they had over it. My little cousin got the kid version which looked a little bit bland compared to the adult version. I really liked that they have a kids menu that was a nice touch. I will definitely need to come back on a Sunday for their brunch menu. The ambiance is also really cute and cozy. I will definitely plan to have my friends bridal shower here it's such a cute and cozy venue. read more

I came here just last week, and I was very impressed. After hearing a few of my friends talk about this place, I have been very eager to try it. We came in and we were the first ones through the door since they opened at 4pm I'm guessing due to covid but I'm not sure. Our sodas were served to us in a mason jar which I though was super cute and I loved the idea. We started off with appetizers. My girlfriend got the cheese curds and I got the calamari. She said that the cheese curds were really good. It is served with this applesauce type sauce. My calamari was superrr good. Instead of the original garlic type sauce it's usually served in, union straw served it in a general tso sauce. I wasn't sure how I was going to like it but honestly it was one of the best calamari I have ever had!! For dinner, I got the bolognese. I have never even heard of this plate before, but I was out to eat so I said why not try something new and it seemed very popular. This was by far one of my favorite dishes ever. The flavor was impeccable. Now, whenever I go out I think I'm going to have to order it! My girlfriend got the pork belly burnt ends. She said that she really enjoyed them! They aren't my style so I can't really say much. For dessert, I got the apple crisp mason jar. It wasn't even served in a mason jar. The server said that they were all out. I wasn't too impressed with the overall taste of it. It was very creamy to be apple crisp. They really overdid it on the marshmallow and whipped cream. I wouldn't order it ever again. My girlfriend got the waffle ice cream sandwich. She said hers was just pretty basic as well. The chocolate was overpowering on the dish. It's nothing extraordinary. Next time, I would just skip dessert. However, the service, amazing appetizers and dinner dishes absolutely trump the dessert leaving me to only give this place five stars. I love this place and will absolutely be back to try more. Side note: I know some of the pictures on here show poutine. They no longer have poutine. read more

Appreciate they still have outdoor dining with heating. Lots of street parking and social distancing. Contactless menus are used by scanning a QR code. Started with cheese curds ($5) and they were terrific. Light, crunchy, and covered in a panko crumb. Though the menu says it's served with a bourbon apple butter and house made hot sauce, our order only came with one sauce, a brown vinegary bbq like sauce, which I mistook for watered down hot sauce. It took some hemming and hawing to get the hot sauce which I was told to be "probably tobasco". It was actually even less flavorless than tobasco. I took a sip from the serving cup in order to actually taste it and all I could taste was vinegar. Ordered a bbq plate combo with ribs and burnt ends. The ribs were tiny but fall off the bone, while the burnt ends weren't really burnt ends but chopped up pork belly smothered in bbq sauce. The coleslaw was super dry but crunchy. The cornbread was also a bit dry and would have been better served with a pat of butter. The beans packed the most flavor and spice. Oniony and spicier than the house made hot sauce. $28, it's not bad if you're really craving bbq but don't expect this to be made by a pit master. read more

We sat at the bar on a Sunday morning. We ordered coffee right away and it was delivered in a timely fashion by the bartender. Unfortunately, no sweetener/ milk or creamer was offered in accompaniment. No utensils, I had to flag another server down to obtain coffee accompaniments, then to obtain utensils. We ordered Lobster Benny, and the Steak & Eggs dishes. Food took quite awhile to come out. Taste was adequate/ average. Hollandaise sauce was bland on the eggs Benedict, but the eggs were cooked perfectly. Steak came out as requested... medium. Ambiance is nice, would like to go back and give it another chance. read more

Had a wonderful experience here! Our server was Connor and he was great! He was very attentive and kind and made some awesome recommendations. The atmosphere is lively but welcoming, with lovely farmhouse chic style decor. Our food and drinks came out fresh and at perfect temperatures in a timely fashion. For starters, we picked the Burrata Bruschetta and Candied Pork Belly. These were both winners and so delicious. I picked the mixed greens salad as a lighter option and it was great value for your money with a large portion of fresh and crisp ingredients (the pickled onions were a great touch). The chicken pot pie was also tasty and filling with an expertly cooked puff pastry topping. The drinks I tried were the Cranberry & Thyme Gin & Tonic and the Cinnamon Hibiscus Margarita (pictured). They were both creative and well done twists on classic cocktails that really hit the spot. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for delicious drinks & dishes in Foxborough. read more

Came here on a Friday night with my wife and another couple. The service was good overall, and our drink orders came out in a couple minutes. Food was tasty. We so wanted to live this place. Our 1st visit the food just wasn't good. So date night again we decided to give it another try. Great patio atmosphere. We were greeted and sat quickly. Our server Joseph was friendly. I ordered the pulled chicken tacos and my wife ordered the Korean BBQ boneless wings. I ordered a large water no ice.... and what came.... large glass with ice. Both meals had great flavor.... just cold all of it. The tortilla, the pulled chicken everything. My wife's wings were cold as well. We left disappointed again. Probably won't be back. It's unfortunate as the place has great ambiance. read more

Delicious food service was slow place was not busy but food and drinks were delish. Good looking place.

Loved the menu and ambience, there's not a lot but there are some good choices to choose from. The decor isn't gaudy, more of a farmhouse airy feeling. Came here for a date. The staff was friendly and helpful. The entree portions are well worth the money. You legit get about 20-25 wings for 12 bucks! The drinks were strong as well. The alligator chorizo in the voodoo shrimp is delish. Only issue is the mac & cheese is stove top.... not baked. Unexpected since there is an up charge to top it w/ additional protein. If it were just the Mac alone it would've been sent back. The chicken on top was okay, a little on the sweet side not very "hot" We would definitely go back and try different menu items. read more

Haven't been in a while as the quality has been uneven, and this used to be excellent every time we would go. I am glad I gave it another try! I got the Brisket Grilled Cheese with a side of Tots. We came to this place at last minute and found that they cannot give us seats due to reservations. But they found a way to put us in the bar area so we can eat our dinner on high stool chairs. Very friendly staff and very busy bartenders around that area that kept us alive to watch their acts. The food was delicious. We all satisfied with burgers and fries.
