Not one, two, or three times but as your company wants. Got it! My concern is that, regardless of whether the consultation was free, I still secured my appointment as requested with a credit card and set aside my time in good faith. From a client's perspective, a scheduled appointment is still a commitment, and repeated last-minute changes make it feel as though the client's time is less valued. If the situation were reversed and I had made multiple same-day changes or cancellations, I would have been subject to a fee. That difference in expectations is what I found frustrating and ultimately led to my decision to cancel. This is not about the consultation itself, but about mutual respect for time and consistency in how scheduling policies are applied.

My advice to those new to the salon is to get there early as parking is limited in the front and the ample parking would be across the street or in the residential area. Now let me get to my stylist who wow'ed me. This was my second time around with this stylist. Backstory I met Shawn Babauta at JCPenny as I went in to get a haircut and she mentioned she was moving to Dolce Salon which was the best decision she made as well as for Dolce Salon to add an amazing stylist to their team. Shawn is so talented and the thing I love about Shawn when I first met her was she listened to what my concerns were and what my inspiration was. Also Shawn gives good feedback on styles that compliment your face and how much work a certain style would be for example bangs. That's a plus for me because not many stylists listen or give you that type of feedback. When it comes to a long term stylist I feel that not only are their talents a plus but also vibing with them is important. I called a bunch of hairstylists on Instagram but no one had any same day availability which I understood completely, but I had to keep searching. I decided to look for a formal salon on google and Chroma was the first suggestion. Living in Des Moines, Tacoma seemed a little far but I was in a crisis so I booked the slot for 1 pm with Terry Ross. I was nervous because the person who ruined my hair shattered my trust. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the establishment was modern with its open floor plan, clean and both customers and hairdressers all seemed happy, engaged in conversation while working - immediately a good vibe. Terry acknowledges me and as soon as she's finished with the previous customer she comes over to me to take a look at what she's dealing with (a color disaster to say the least) Terry really took her time to evaluate what was done to my hair by the previous person. She went over the details of what she planned on doing to correct my hair color making sure to address all my questions in the process. We had a really lovely time chatting while she worked on the foils. She checked the foils often and made sure to make me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. The outcome was unbelievable to me because when I walked in I looked like a fox (not in a good way) and Terry sent me out the door with a high level of confidence in my appearance. I'm lucky to have Charla and Jessica taking care of my hair--my lifelong, deep red hair that I proudly say comes from my great-great-grandmother. It's that strong Indian red MC1R gene trait, and I don't take it lightly! I had hand and arm surgery in January 2026, and the girls even took care of my hair before my surgery. At that time, we were working through simple wash routines together because I couldn't wash my hair myself. They were so patient and helpful through all of it. By the time I needed my next move-up, I was ready to wash my own hair again, and they celebrated that progress with me. I truly love these ladies like I've known them for years.
