I'm lucky to have Charla and Jessica taking care of my hair--my lifelong, deep red hair that I proudly say comes from my great-great-grandmother. It's that strong Indian red MC1R gene trait, and I don't take it lightly! I had hand and arm surgery in January 2026, and the girls even took care of my hair before my surgery. At that time, we were working through simple wash routines together because I couldn't wash my hair myself. They were so patient and helpful through all of it. By the time I needed my next move-up, I was ready to wash my own hair again, and they celebrated that progress with me. I truly love these ladies like I've known them for years. I figured I'd give some broad ideas I had and defer to her judgment once we met and bless her, she totally understood what I was going for within mere sentences! I've never felt such immediate trust and comfortability in a stylist. It's insane how much you dont realize your hair impacts your self esteem when it's been in a state for some time. I could feel my personality getting bigger (or rather, coming back) as she cut off all this length and I watched her transform my hair. My cup truly runneth over with joy once it was complete! I felt like a whole new woman and I could not stop checking myself out. Hell, I'm still checking myself out! I truly did not and still don't know how to act since. Jocelyn and Bravo are both experts in their field and their work together speaks for itself in the vibe of the shop. I've never had a bad haircut in Jocelyn's hands, she had taken the time to learn my cowlicks and lifestyle. My hair is wash-and-go now and I've never had more compliments. I've been having my hair cut by Julie for a few years now and she's the best I've had. What drew me to the salon was the 'curly' part of their name as not all stylists know how to cut curly hair. Julie cuts it so well that 3 friends with curly hair (plus one without it) now get their hair cut by Julie or her sister Joanie. I saw this was a curly hair salon and so I was so excited because I was like finally people who understand my hair! I asked for a small trim just to cut dead ends, I wanted to keep the length. For reference my hair was about at my chest. I don't know the lady who helped me's name anyways she asked me if I wanted layers. I said absolutely not bc I didn't wanna look old lol. She said do you want me to reduce volume of your hair. I said yea sure (bc of the last salon who complained about my hair volume and not really knowing what she meant ). During the cut, I noticed she was cutting A LOT of hair. But me, being scared to say smthg and I felt like I just need to trust the process bc I don't know hair, didn't say anything. Plus, by the time I was upset about it, it was already so short like above my shoulders. I know it was a junior stylist who did my hair but a senior stylist watched over her. The senior stylist came after the cut and did some finishes and asked me do you like it? I actually held back tears I was so upset. THERE WERE LAYERS AFTER I ASKED FOR NO LAYERS. And my hair was so freaking short. Anyways, now to present time (5 months later), I am so insecure about my hair because now I can see how uneven the cut is. I had asked for the front to be short and the back to be longer and for it to be like a gradual length or whatever but it's quite literally the opposite. All these months I thought I was tripping bc I thought I can't see how it rly looks but omg it's actually so bad that I can notice it very clearly. Four of us from my family went to her for years until she moved to Sola on 6th ave and become unreachable for scheduling. It sucked to lose someone I had been working with for like 8 years, but I had to find a new stylist who wanted my business and appreciated my loyalty. Enter Staci Knight. I was relieved I could book online and surprised I was able to get in ASAP. The services I had were an express keratin treatment and a cut&style. When I met Staci any anxiety I had just melted away. She just exudes a positive, friendly energy. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She trained at Gene Juarez and has been a professional in the industry for 11 years. One of the many aspects I love about Staci is her insistence of quality versus results that don't last or look good. If you have damaged hair and want it colored, she's going to mend it first so your color lasts longer and it looks amazing. Her clients are her resume and she's going to make sure it's done properly to have beautiful results.
