About 1/2 the park appears to be full timers and everyone we met was friendly. Showers are clean and well lit, as is the laundry ($2.25). Very little road noise. The view is spectacular! Lots of good places to eat just a few minutes away (Sweet Wife bakery and Inland Cafe were both worth returning to). There's a nice big Albertsons grocery and a big Ace Hardware. Great little town!

It's not glamping, but Dan and his squad take care of all the details and are focused on making sure you have a great time. The fire is lit. The coffee is ready. The cocktails are poured. And the meals are 5-star. The whole thing is 5-star! We recommend Go Wild! to anyone wanting to get away from it all for a couple days and have a great time and a unique adventure.

Part of our group stayed here, others in a hotel and others at the Gold Rush RV. We decided to meet at Whistle Stop since it was the closest to the trails we were heading out on. As soon as we came through the gate (6 machines) the owner came walking across the parking lot and said if we weren't staying there we couldn't meet there. So by that statement I'm guessing that if you stay there you are not allowed any guests. There was one other guest in the whole park. It was all of our first time in the area, and we love the area and plan on coming back next year. And there is not a tree in the whole place. No shade. None of us will be staying at Whistle Stop.

We arrived in Sumpter about 10:30pm, We had no reservations and this was the first place we saw so we stopped. Being so late the office was closed so we took a chance and called the number we were so pleased to get a live person answering our call. Sherry came down to the office and got us checked in for our stay. We found out that Sherry and Ron had just purchased the park and have been busy cleaning the public areas and making renovations. Pride of ownership and great customer service shone through. We had a great stay and will be back!

This particular rest stop in Baker Valley has a gorgeous view of the valley just before the start of the Blue Mountains. Much of it is still rural farmland, you can't help but look out and think about the pioneers that passed through and eventually settled this land. Amazing! I also like that Oregon has put in mini museums or interpretive stands at many of the rest stops. The one here has pictures and stories about the pioneers that came west on the Oregon Trail wagon trains. Very interesting to read and learn more about the area. Amenities wise: this rest stop has all the standard things you'd expect: bathrooms, water, vending machines with snacks, picnic tables, etc. We've stopped here several times over the years and generally find everything clean and in good working order.

The people running this are passionate, fun, creative, and just over all incredible people! I went with my parents and husband, we had so much fun! Plenty of kids were on the trip and they seemed to have an amazing time as well. After, we went to the gift shop and got a few things to support the project and enjoy for memories. Over all I would say visit if you're on the fence, if you can ride during a time they are doing shows- even better! We were not disappointed and would absolutely go back to ride again, even for the same show!

We were surrounded by spectacular jagged granite peaks. Our day hikes wound through beautiful forests to clear alpine lakes. The clients and our guides were all wonderful. And, the llamas carried most off our stuff. Book your trip early. They fill up very fast.

We were trained on how to saddle them, weigh bags, and put them on the llamas so as to not overburden them. Those llamas were amazing! Tristan was the definite hummer of the group!! We had a great time backpacking with them to Pine lakes! I want to utilize this great resource again!! It was a very unique and amazing experience!
