    Cabin #4

We stayed in cabin 4 and it was a great experience. Stovetop and oven provided as well as a small refrigerator in it. Showers and restrooms were clean.

Trucks all night long. Campsite A06.

Beautiful Park and campground. Nice showers and toilet facilities too. The INTERSTATE HIGHWAY runs 75 yards away from the campsites and OH. MY. GOSH! Trucks all night long. We had to just laugh and call it part of the adventure. Truly a shame because it's a lovely campground.

This is one of the nicest state park I've been in long time, the bathrooms, with showers are spotless, the sights are nicely spaced, and tons of walking/horse trails in the park. Most RV sights have full hook-up, ATT cell phone works great. Has nice little cabins to rent, also really nice rental hall for wedding or family reunion etc. also horse small horse camp and day picnic area. The only draw back is close to the highway so there is highway noise, but you kind of get used to it, and the traffic slows down at night.

    $5.00 for a cart full!

One of the cleanest bathroom parks I've ever seen! The campsite is located off the freeway, so it can be noisy at night when trucks are passing by - I guess it could be like white noise when you're sleeping. But if you're a light sleeper - probably not ideal. We went during September and the temperature was super chilly. We used this campsite as a rest stop as we were passing through to Seattle, WA. I would recommend it. The camp hosts and park rangers are friendly and they sincerely want you to enjoy your time there. The option for firewood is the best! A full barrel for I believe $5? It really was a good deal!! They have cabin options, RV and car camping available also water and electricity at certain sites. If you're just looking for a campsite to stay at just for the night, this place is great! It's right off the freeway so you don't have to venture too far into the woods. I didn't get to check out the hiking trails or anything of that nature - but they have trails and pamphlets about the park available near the restrooms. We only stayed for one night - it was a very short stay but a more memorable one!

Large flat sites make camping here quite nice. 21 miles from LaGrand and 21 miles from Pendleton give you a few days of activites too.

This was a great place to camp BUT you have to be aware of the noise from RTE 84. It truly becomes whitenoise if you let it which we did. The sites are large, clean and relatively flat. Larhe wagons of dry wood for $5. Free hot showers. Clean bathrooms. Hiking trails everwhere. The rangers are always available. Water at almost every site.

Campgrounds are clean and bathrooms are nice and well kept. Pay showers. The sound from the highway is very loud.

Nice park even when the parking lot is closed for the winter…read more I use the park as the starting point or a turnaround point of a walk along Mill Creek or a walk from here to Bennington Reservoir (lake). As the turnaround point, leaving the car at WWCC ball park and walking up to Rooks puts the cold breeze at your back on the way back down. If you leave your car outside the locked gates in the winter months at the park, you can just walk in and take a hike up to Bennington or walk down to WWCC or even further into Walla Walla along the trail. I like the last part of my hike or walk to always be the downhill part. In the summer, this can be a nice place for a family gathering, a picnic (tables available or barbeque pits), or a little activity. However, check for ticks in the spring and summer months especially if your wanderings take you out among the flora and fauna.

This park has character as it is close to the city but is quite rustic…read more It has all the usual accoutrements of a park--kid play area, bathrooms, grass, picnic areas, barbecue pits, horseshoes, tables, a dam, a bridge, a creek, a stream, some great trees and lots of parking. OK, so most parks don't have a dam and a bridge, but some do, right? It is attached to Walla Walla by the Mill Creek Recreation Trail which is over a mile long and is perfect for a daily walk as it runs alongside Mill Creek. It is next to the Bennington Lake Recreation Area which increases your options for entertainment. Dogs are welcome at Rooks Park but should be on a leash. Horses are also welcome, but they cannot use the bridge. The parking lot is closed for most of the winter so you may have to park outside the gates if you arrive at an out-of-season time.

Oh yeah - seeing the stars from the hot spring pool was dreamy. I'm not sure this would be a pick if the place was full of - the sites are kind of close. But I imagine many families create a lot of great memories here. Make sure to get off at the correct exit or you'll be driving for what seems like a couple miles on a gravel road. But it does immediately put you in the campy state of mind.

Like WAY FIRST CLASS. Price is also very reasonable. Checking -in after hours is very smooth. Now let's talk about the hot springs... There are two pools and they are extremely clean and comfortable. Here's the bad part, they add chlorine. This is just an absolute no, no, no for me. I come to a hot springs for pure chemical free water. I totally understand why they do it (The pools are a distance from the water source -which is located at their resort next door).... which requires they add some chlorine). I get it. But now that I know... i know and I just can't soak in chlorine. I will, however, stay at their luxury resort next door because those tubs are completely chemical free. I'll let you know how it goes in the event I can ever afford a luxury hot springs resort.
