Hells Canyon Reservoir runs from Copperfield Oregon up north along the Snake River/Hells Canyon all…read morethe way up to the dam. It's a long, fairly narrow reservoir that sits in a steep, picturesque canyon. You can access it from both the Oregon and Idaho sides, with numerous areas for camping and boat launch on both sides. This river reservoir is nestled in a hot, dry climate and offers an emerald-hued escape from the oppressive heat. We visited on a day that crested well over 100 heatwave) and, well, that's pretty much perfect for enjoying the cool water. There are a ton of trailheads along the reservoir if you want to hike up to the canyon rim, and definitely tons of lakefront to stretch out on. Aside from the established campgrounds there are a bunch of pullouts on Hells Canyon Road suitable for car camping. This is definitely a locals spot, and not really a destination. I think Wallowa Lake is more for the Portland tourists. But that said, it's easy to see how this is a really popular spot for party boats, water skiing, and simple lake-style recreation.

The RV sites have adequate space, there was a nice picnic table but no fire ring; there are a couple of community fire pits. The hot spring soaking tubs are adequate but nothing unique. It's the kind of stop where you can actually resupply without driving into town. The hot tub was clean, well-maintained, and properly warm. Bathrooms had hot showers with solid water pressure, which is never guaranteed at an RV park and always appreciated after a long day on the road. We were passing through on a road trip and stayed one night in our rooftop tent. For a single-night stop, this place delivered everything you'd want. Clean facilities, good amenities, and staff that make you feel like a guest rather than a transaction. Would stop here again without hesitation.

This is a great campground on the northern edge of Phillips Lke between Baker City and Sumpter…read more Surrounded by ponderosa pines, the campsites are spacious and farher apart than in many campgrounds. Individual sites include water and electricity and there are also tent-only and group sites.. From Boise, it's about the same distance as going to McCall, but the drive along the freeway is much easier. The campground is also available for day use; many picnic tables are spread out between campsites and the lake. A paved trail circles the lake for walkers and bikers. We really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to a return visit.

This park has a FANTASTIC visitor center! I mean it's not packed with tons of info but it's got a solid little bit, nice folks, a good little gift shop, clean bathrooms, what more could you want? There are so many trails with an abundance of options for difficulty, or even just driving through was tranquil. We saw a huge variety of birds, wildlife, flowers, and just incredible views. It's worth a visit, take a day and explore, we went in late June and saw many adorable fawns and deer!

Staff collects trash every morning and also will refill propane tanks for you if you leave the tank out, you just have to pay for the propane! We chose to get a group site as there were 3 groups in our party. The group site consisted of 4 sites forming a box around shared grass (shown in photo). Full hookups including a direct dump spot on your site! There are plenty of solo sites which each have their own grass patch (pro tip - sites around spot 77 offer a view of the river!). super dog friendly with stations throughout the park for bags and waste trash cans. The main lobby has free popcorn available for self serve. Very nice pool, hot tub and sauna, as well as a mini fitness area and showers located to the left of the lobby. 8pm-10pm is reserved for adults only. Bathrooms were literally the nicest i have ever seen (super clean!) with each private stall having a shower, sink, toilet and complimentary bathmats. bathmats only ran out once in the 4 times i used the shower. There is also access to the river from the campsites and areas for fly fishing! Full time residents stay here as well :) Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay again!

The staff makes sure you are okay to set up and stay to answer any questions. The spaces are spread out enough to give you enough space between sites and we loved the group site of four! The common grass area in the middle was ideal to gather around and let our dogs hang out (on leashes). It was like our own little camping area. The bathrooms were the best I've ever seen camping! Individual bathrooms with showers equipped with bath mats! Very clean and the water pressure was excellent! 6 bathrooms in our area with the laundry room. A short walk from our camp site. The main check-in area had a club house with a pool/spa (adults only 18 and up from 8-10pm) with a lounge. They had some entertainment at nights (scheduled). Free popped popcorn all day, help yourself which was just like what you get at the movies - yum! RV Park is dog friendly and has a dog park and has dog areas and poop bags/dispensers thought out the park. It is close to the river so some spots have a river view and you are able to walk to the river and fish. Really loved our stay and will be back next year! Highly recommended!
