Oh yeah - seeing the stars from the hot spring pool was dreamy. I'm not sure this would be a pick if the place was full of - the sites are kind of close. But I imagine many families create a lot of great memories here. Make sure to get off at the correct exit or you'll be driving for what seems like a couple miles on a gravel road. But it does immediately put you in the campy state of mind.

Like WAY FIRST CLASS. Price is also very reasonable. Checking -in after hours is very smooth. Now let's talk about the hot springs... There are two pools and they are extremely clean and comfortable. Here's the bad part, they add chlorine. This is just an absolute no, no, no for me. I come to a hot springs for pure chemical free water. I totally understand why they do it (The pools are a distance from the water source -which is located at their resort next door).... which requires they add some chlorine). I get it. But now that I know... i know and I just can't soak in chlorine. I will, however, stay at their luxury resort next door because those tubs are completely chemical free. I'll let you know how it goes in the event I can ever afford a luxury hot springs resort.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds, tucked in next to Brownlee Reservoir at Hells Canyon…read more It's one of a series of Hells Canyon campgrounds operated by Idaho Power, which operates several dams used to produce electricity in Hells Canyon. It contains 118 camper sites with water and electrical hookups, along with a dump station. Another 15 sites, with shared water, are tent-only. Those sites are steps away from the shore. The campground also includes restroom buildings with free hot showers. You can even see Russia, I mean, Oregon from the shore. We typically stay in B Loop, which has large sites with some room between campsites. The C Loop sites are closer together and there's generally more noise produced from families and groups of friends sharing the sites. Wi-fi is available through a private provider, at $5 for two devices for $5. Hookup instructions are provided on a flyer attached on restroom bulletin boards.
