The Log House RV is conveniently located near Joseph and the Wallowa State Park, and exploring those areas was such a fun time that we're planning a return trip before the summer's end. Brian and Margaret, the owners, were both amazingly welcoming and inviting. My husband had reserved a luxury campsite, (eg "Glamping"), for my birthday weekend, and Margaret offered to have a small box of Arrowhead chocolate caramels, (from a local chocolate shop located in nearby Joseph), waiting for us upon our arrival. My husband took her up on her offer, and the candy was decadent. Also, Brian left a birthday card beside the chocolates that was personally handwritten by him. The luxury tent that my husband, myself and our chocolate lab spent our weekend was clean and cozy and had the absolute most comfortable bed that we've ever slept in - no kidding. The bathrooms and shower house was also clean, and they are even 2 sets of washers and dryers if you feel inclined to cleaning your dirty duds during your stay. Overall, a wonderful birthday weekend was had, and much thanks and appreciation to both Brian and Margaret!! **Side Note: A little hidden gem that's not to be missed and is located in nearby Lostine, is the recently renovated and re-vamped Lostine Tavern, (the locals call it "LT"), for either a delicious breakfast or lunch. Also, a little shop named "Beecrowbee" that's located in Joseph is a great stop for handmade soaps, unique jewelry and apparel.

Off the Gondola, walk 3 miles to all camera and binocular ready view lookouts of mountains in all directions and lake below. Lush green vegetation and scents of alpine high. I won't go into the details of the chaos that ensued, but suffice it to say that waiting two hours for dinner was unacceptable, especially as we watched other people get seated, order, be served and leave before we had anything, Not even a bread basket or crackers for goodness sakes. The young man who was identified as the manager was sarcastic instead of helpful. When I asked him what the holdup was and pointed out that our dinner orders had been in place for two days, his snarky response was, "Well, we didn't start cooking them two days ago." No explanation and no offer to help. Afterwards, I sent an email to Jane, the woman I'd coordinated with for weeks asking her to just explain what happened. Her response? Crickets. Not enough professional courtesy to even respond to an email let alone offer an apology. Being ghosted after your group has been treated rudely and after spending hundreds of dollars is more than a lack of courtesy. It's the mark of a poorly trained staff. I'm sure dinner for two they can manage but don't take a group there.
