    Prime rib dip sandwich

Yum! Husband had the breakfast sandwich and I had the prime rib with au jus dip which comes with a side of creamy horseradish sauce! Deliciously messy, made to order and soooooo good! Fun lil market/cafe. Highly recommend

The prime rib dip was the best we have ever tasted! The meat was tender and juicy, the bread was homemade and excellent! The au jus was to die for! And he also gives you horseradish sauce to put on if you want, which we did and it added that extra zing we like. Don't be deceived by the laid back looks of the store, the food was excellent! We also had a brownie and blueberry muffin which were great as well!

I love small town country stores that leave you with big feels! This place is a cozy local spot and it was super convenient for a nice pit stop. I lucked out with purchasing some fresh baked blueberry muffins- talk about yum! I left with a few fresh garden tomatoes that I can't wait to sink my teeth into. They also sale various convenient store items, local goods, and fresh baked treats.

Stopped by this place to get a light snack for our day trip. To our amazement it has coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, etc. We had some delicious clam chowder and while waiting a fresh cinnamon rolls we hot out of the over. Loved the old style store and hope to visit again soon.

(Pro tip, they sell it separately and had I realized how incredible it was before I left I would have brought some home). Secondly, the vegetarian fillings were fresh, perfect avocado, fresh tomato, lovely red peppers with a nice slice of Swiss and some fresh lettuce. It was heavenly. It's maybe a tad expensive, but considering the freshness and the bonus blueberry bread and chips they included I did not mind at all. The guy worming was very nice (and made an incredible sandwich) but the woman, who I'm guessing was the owner, seemed a little put off to have to make stuff. I'm only docking them a point because of the somewhat awkward feeling and slightly stale atheistic of the place. But honestly, it was clean and they are clearly putting out a bunch of fresh, homemade goodies so I can absolutely look past that all. Next time I'm in the area I'll be back and I'll be loading up on their fresh bread...and probably a pastry or cookie or something else yummy.

Most custom cake bakeries want much more advance notice but Nostalgia House only needed 48 hours. The people at the bakery were very responsive to both my phone calls and messages via their Facebook page. Everyone at the party loved the design and flavor of the cake, Lemon cake with strawberry filling. The bakery literally said we could do any flavor so tons of options available to you. Arrived at the bakery on a Saturday around 10am and they had my cake ready to go and it was great. Also a fair price. I will say if you are going to this bakery looking for pastries on Saturday...go early. When I got there at 10 they were cleaned out. It's a nice space clean, quiet and cozy. Didn't really notice much seating though.

On the one hand there is nothing extra like onions or peppers it is loaded with eggs and tasty pork sausage. The tortilla was very good, not too thick but thin and tender. Even though I was hungry it was difficult to finish the large burrito. I would definitely come back just for the burrito. I tried a blueberry streusel muffin- didn't care for it, seemed dry and lacked blueberries. The muffin itself had a yellow cake like batter and the streusel lacked sweetness or flavor. I also chose a Carmel pecan roll. It was much more to my liking, especially after I warmed it up. It was much like my grandmother used to make. Soft, nice amount of topping. Finally I tried a mini sourdough loaf . Made toast with it and it was tasty, toasted up nice. I will come back to try some of the other treats they have- and definitely another burrito!!

There is no place to sit inside but there are sidewalk benches or you can walk as you snack. I love that you can look at all the pastries from the side walk. They not only entice you to get a pastry or three but you can plan out what you want while waiting in line. When you order, if I remember correctly, you only get your items in a box if you order more than six items. If you order less they are placed into a waxed bag. I ordered the sour cream donut, Viking cup, and a butterhorn with almonds. I loved them all! They all tasted so fresh, had a great texture, and was absolutely yummy. The Viking cup had the perfect balance of frosting to bun.

There was a line out the door even 30 minutes before closing, but it went pretty fast and the shelves were also well stocked with pastries; not bare like I expected them to be coming so soon before closing. The person behind the counter explained that the Viking cups were all 20% off as the batch that day came out with irregular shapes. Taste wise it wasn't bad, tastes like a regular cinnamon roll but with more of that homemade touch you get with good quality ingredients and handmade cream cheese frosting (the contrast from store bought to homemade is big when it comes to cream cheese). The frosting had good texture and surprisingly I liked it better than the actual roll, especially since I'm known to always remove cream cheese icing. I think the roll would have been better if it had been served warm. Overall it was not bad, a little sweeter than I would have preferred, but I'm also not a huge cinnamon roll or cream cheese fan because of how sweet they always are in general, so that could just be a personal preference. Want to try the pecan roll or any of the cookies next time I visit, those sounded promising as well. Prices here are also pretty decent considering how touristy this place is, and coming from Seattle, anything under $5 is a relief. Definitely will become a place I hit every time I'm in Poulsbo!
