I've been taking my vehicles to Brutus Auto for the last 5 years and haven't looked back…read more Recently I brought my sister's car in for a check engine light on. I asked them if it could have anything to do with a recall. They ran diagnostics, called the dealership and did the research. Instead of fixing something that may not need to be fixed and charging her, they found the issue may be resolved when the recall issue is resolved. Even if you do pay a diagnostic fee, their time is valuable and the honesty is worth every penny. Because of this, Brutus Auto is now my sister's new auto shop!

Don't trust this auto shop. They don't know what they're doing. I brought my car in a very common…read moreHonda Accord for a valve cover leak repair. They said the VTEC solenoid needed to be replaced. I trusted them and let them replace it in addition to the valve cover gasket. After this my car did not run and would not idle and stalled out driving it out of the place when they said it was all set to be picked up. They spent the next two weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with it and did not correctly fix it. I ended up having to bring it to Honda directly. Honda was able to fix it in Concord in one day. All the additional diagnostic work with Brutus cost me over $800 and they still couldn't fix it, this $800 did not include the money I had to pay Honda to fix what Brutus had done. They then offered me a credit for that work. We brought my wife's Nissan versa in for something simple. We told them the AC wasn't working. It had already had a vacuum test done and been recharged with uv leak detector added and still didn't work previous to bringing to them. We also suspected it had an exhaust leak. They did another vacuum test refilled it again even though we had told them it had already been done and then they said it could not be verified whether the the AC system worked. They also said they could not fix the exhaust leak and we'd need to bring it to a different shop. They then said the charge would be $160 we picked up my wife's car and did not pay this. We had requested they call us before doing any work. They never called my wife. They sent me a text message even though it is not my car that the work was completed. They never got authorization to do the work after they inspected it. Do not trust these people do not work with them. They do not know what they're doing. Additional update. We brought my wife's car to exhaust shop to be repaired. They said the exhaust leak was not in the piping as Brutus had told us but was in the gasket and it was a simple gasket replacement and they were able to do it in under 2 hours. Once again Brutus was not able tocorrectly use the issue and it was a simple fix they could have done if they understood what they were doing.

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car so I took it in to Kelley Street. They diagnosed the problem quickly and did some extra legwork to get a good price on a replacement part (turned out my EGR valve was bad). They didn't have to look for a better deal, but they did and it ended up saving me about $100. The only downside to this place is that it is sometimes hard to get them to see you on short notice. Definitely make an appointment. I've also had good luck with Mom's Garage which is a few blocks east on the same road.

I googled search this morning and I discovered for those in the future this year 2025 who needs to renew your NH state inspection go here. They are the lowest for NH state inspection around town as other places I called charged up to $60 bucks or are dishonest about their fee like Adams Auto Care when the lady told me it's $49.95 but I stated I saw online their advertisement for $29.95. She stated you must mention that to get that promotion rate which it didn't say that. Anyway, I wanted to share my fabulous and outstanding customer service phone skills as well in person skills Dan who portray exceptional professionalism. I waited for my car less than 1/2 wait time in their customer waiting lounge as they offer free wi-fi plus refreshments if you need them. Dan didn't rush on collecting my $14.95 NH state inspection right away until my car service was rendered and completed for the payment. I paid cash but I overheard Dan informing another patron if you pay with your credit card there will be a 3% transaction fee added on top of the invoice bill. Therefore, Dan fully communicated with his patrons which is what I really appreciate when going to get your car service. Kudos to Dan for professionally representing Extra Care Auto Repair. Monday, the day I'm supposed to drop off the van rolls around, and I give a call into the shop just to confirm. Tom says he can't do it this week, and reschedules me for next Monday. I drop off the van the following Monday, and get the van back Thursday. Two phone calls to communicate status and progress in the mean time.
