A great go-to for all of your underwater adventure needs! They offer classes and instruction to teach you the "ahhhhs" and "ooohhhhs" of scuba diving. They have pool time available for you to hone your skills once you're certified, offer specialty classes for just about anything, and are always so helpful and patient with every dumb question I have asked. Once you decide to take the plunge (pun intended) and spend the money to go forward with your decision to put your life at risk, you'll more than likely never look back. The feeling of weightless under the water is such a welcome felling to my beat up, post-roller derby body. To breathe underwater and feel peace and tranquility, there's nothing like it. They teach you how-not-to-die while going against what nature intended for us land animals that cannot breathe underwater without the aid of a heavy tank and a breathing apparatus attached to your mouth. They provide you with so much literature that teaches you the laws of physics, science and more science. Basically, its reading material that tells you how not to die by using common sense and most importantly, how to stay calm in moments of distress and panic. Reading it, I felt like "no problem, just stay calm and breathe. I'm a great swimmer so I'm sure I'll be fine". Trust me on this, the mental stuff takes practice. It doesn't matter how well you can swim, if you can't nail the mental fitness of this sport, it may be a long, bumpy road. I'm still working on it. My goal is to go on one of their many annual scuba diving trips, preferably somewhere tropical so I can actually see above, below and all around me. The lakes and quarries we practice in have not been ideal as far as visibility and I believe that all the things will click and fit into place once I can actually see more than 5 feet in front of me. For the exception of one poorly instructed class (advanced diving), there were too many students and not enough instructors, so that made my deep dive to 60 feet a nightmare. And one of the instructors had little to no patience with us; kinda just threw us into the deep end with no floaties and told us to swim. Aside from my one poor experience in the water, the owners are awesome and knowledgeable and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable in the water and encourage you to learn at your own pace. I look forward to expanding my knowledge base and feeling more and more comfortable in water with every I descend I make. read more

UW connection is a phenomenal learning team. We started our journey with a groupon in February and scuba became our covid activity during warmer months. We completed open water and advanced open water through UW and are continuing this winter with buouancy training at a local high school pool. We've had nearly only excellent experiences with qll.of our instructors... in my first open water weekend, I had a lot of anxiety about a specific skill and our instructor modified how the group tested for the skill to ensure success. Since our advance class where I had trouble with my buoyancy there has been additional opportunity to sign up to join the open water pool training dives to explore weights. We found I over weighted by 10 pounds!! Love UW and will continue to keep them in our learning scuba portfolio. read more

Personnel in this store are very rude and lack basic customer service skills. I went in with the intention of buying some new gear and signing up for a class but left without either after my questions were answered with "I don't know." and "We don't carry that." (even though they're supposedly an authorized dealer for the brand I was inquiring about). My wife was shocked by his attitude. They guy acted like I was bothering him because I wanted to buy something. They weren't busy. It was a weekday early afternoon and we were the only ones in the store. There are several other nice dive shops in the area (AJ Scuba, Aquatic Adventures, Pirates Cove, Stillwater). You'll be better off going to one of them. read more

I became a certified scuba diver through this shop. The class was well organized and the water experience was well-instructed. I was nervous about having a "buddy" (to dive with) because I signed up for the class solo, but there was another solo learner in the class, so it worked out nice. I did not enjoy the "sand pit" water open water experience. I wish they could find another location. They also charged extra (I think it was $15) for the open water experience, which I think should be included in the cost of the certification. The shop itself is nice. I checked out their prices before buying, so I could compare them to other places. I found the items I was looking to buy were a good price at Underwater Connection and did purchase my mask, snorkel, and fins from this location. read more

The staff at Underwater Connections is second to none. My husband and I have book several trips, both local and warm weather, and all of these excursions where beyond our expectations. I could go on and on but take my word! As for classes and product, again they are the best. I was certified through a different dive firm, however I was Nitrox certified at UC. The class was informative and the ease of taking my cert dive locally was great. Everyone on staff has extensive product knowledge. You just need to let them know what your looking for and they will ensure you get what's going to work for you. The individual service you get is great and something you rarely get anywhere else. Ok store as in neat & clean, They will train you and punch a C-card,then try to stroke you on expensive gear, it's a vacation divers store! as they have 2 stores,, not a local divers store, My point had a gal pals computer name brand in for battery change and they screwed up and it could of been ruined but had to rush send it off to a nother dealer for service & repair after calling UWC back and telling the story and close call thinking a re-fund would be in order the goof on the phone said THANK YOU for the info! so vacation travlers looking for a c- card referal go for it! serious divers doing diving its a wanabe store IMO read more

Out of the 4 Dive shops I have been to in WI, UWC is by far the best. When you walk in they know who you are which is great.Their instructors will take time to make sure you understand everything. Even if it means taking you one on one later which happened to a student in Open Water class. To see the instructor take extra time with one student who was struggling made me realize that the store hired amazing instructors. If you join their FB group you will never have an excuse not to get in the water, they do an incredible job getting word out about trips. I live closer to 2 other dive shops but will continue to drive an extra 40mins just to get to this one. read more

I have not had a chance to make it out to this location but the hales corners location was bad I'm hoping to stop in and see if other locations are better . Hales corner staff did not know about the product o n the sales floor , as well as had broken product on the floor staff ignored me the whole hour I was there. My young son and I recently completed our open water certification training through the Hales Corner store. The instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly, and patient with my son. Before taking the certification course, we tried the sport and the shop out by signing up for their 'discover SCUBA' program, which is run at a local pool. You get to put on the gear and swim around for an hour or so with an instructor under very controlled conditions, so it was a nice introduction. We were very happy with how it was run, and they provided a bit of a credit towards the certification class because we took the discover program. read more
