Finally Honda repaired my AC compressor seal. Had to make three trips to Billings (60 miles one way) before they had a technician and seal to complete the job. I would have thought they would have seals on hand due to it being a recall item. Glad to have air conditioning again. Also, feel that they need loaner cars for jobs that will take most of a day. I wish I would not have purchased a new vehicle from this dealership! The vehocle and manufacturer might be good but the service department managers are shifty in more ways than one. If you have a new car under warranty and still under the " complementary service", part of the service is tire rotations. Next time you are taking it in for this "complementary service" mark the two front wheels and see if they get rotated. If not check your invoice and see if they billed the factory warranty. Both times I brought mine in they lied to me and billed the mother company for work that was never done. I had more problems than this but will wait to do another posting on those issues. Oh, and commentary isn't complementary you paid for it in the price of the car. read more

I can't give a one-star review since I haven't been to the dealership, but this is regarding two service quotes I was given this morning within minutes of each other. The first quote was just under $100. The second quote came from the service manager and was over $160. I don't think the manager knew I already received a quote for the same service earlier. With such large gap between quotes, I think I'll be doing business elsewhere. Given reading the poor reviews specifically for the service department, I'll continue to "window shop" for now. read more

There were undisclosed issues with the car, they allowed me to drive it home with unsafe tires, the staff ignore you after your purchase, it's been over a month and they still haven't released the title even though I didn't finance through them and they're paid in full...I can go on and on. No one here knows what they're doing, no one can answer a question, and they will happily lie to your face about anything and everything if that's what it takes to make a buck. I understand they're trying to make a living and need to sell cars, but it's places like this that give the auto industry a bad wrap. Stay away if you value your wallet and sanity. read more

If I could leave them less than one star I would. On October 5, 2019 I went in for an oil change at Underriner Honda. Service advisor Shaun took the keys and told me there would be about an hour hour and a half wait. When I came back I noticed that the car was no longer in the service station at that point I asked if the car was ready and Shaun said we have a problem we need to have a talk about your car. He said that the oil pan plug is stripped and I need to buy a new oil pan for $700. I told him that I was the one that did the oil change the last time and there was no issues tightening down the oil pan plug the last time so more than likely his service technician probably stripped out the oil pan threads with the oil plug. I asked Shaun if they had to push the car out of the service bay and he said they must have had to. He didn't like that very much but said that I would still have to get it fixed before I could leave because there isn't any oil in the vehicle. I asked to talk to the person that changed the oil which I later found out his name was Kole. Kole said that he was able to put the oil pan plug into the oil pan but it was not holding very well. I went back in to talk to Shaun and informed him that there was oil in the car and that I'd like to speak to the service manager. Derrick was of course out that day. I paid for the oil change and took the car over to black ice automotive where Chaz the owner drained the oil and put a new oil drain plug into the car for $110.71. Way less than just the oil pan over at Honda. Today October 14, 2019 I was finally able to go back and talk to Der at Honda. After listening to my story he basically asks how many miles are on the Honda and I say 249,000 miles and he says oh yeah those cars weren't meant to last that long and the oil pan should've been replaced a long time ago. If you own a Honda you know that this is not true. Chaz's professional opinion is that Kole stripped the oil pan threads and blamed it on either me or the fact the car is old. Derrick should have offered to help pay for the fix I had to do on my car with black ice automotive. Also Shaun should be taught customer service skills and not lie directly to customers faces. Kole should be taught how to actually perform oil changes on vehicles and not over tighten oil pan plugs. I would never have written this if Derrick would have asked how he could remedy this but I will never do business with underriner Honda and I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to have work done here and to not buy vehicles from them. Derrick could have offered to cover the cost of the repair I had to pay black ice automotive to do. Because I sure as sin didn't strip the threads out of my oil pan so who does that leave? I can tell you in 2 words. Underriner Honda. They could have offered to put in an oversized drain plug but they didn't all they wanted was $700 for the new oil pan. I call this breaking something intentionally to make more money. The pic is of the new oversized oil drain plug that Chaz over at Black ice automotive did. We came here because our tire was making a weird noise. We told them it happened only when we turned left. The gentleman here said it would be $80 for a diagnosis. When I told him we were going to look at other auto shops, he scoughed at me and laughed and said a sarcastic "okay." We would have returned if we couldn't find another shop but because he did that. No. Called Jiffy Lube right around the corner, told them what was happening and while on the phone, he said it's probably a skid plate. We got there and sure enough it was a skid plate. They clipped it for free and we were on our way. Jiffy Lube does free inspection which is worth noting and the workers there were very nice and helpful. read more

7-20-21 Complaint on safety, Airbag Inflator Recall Repair: I received a notice from Honda Co., U.S. Department of Transportation and NHTSA sometime in the spring 2021 that I needed to get my 2003 CR-V in for Airbag Inflator Recall Repair. I went in to the local dealership here in Billings, MT 59101, Underriner Honda , soon after getting that 1st class mail notice. Underriner Honda had my car for about 15 minutes. Jessie ________ in Service said after they had my car for awhile that "No" I did not need any recall work done. I went home and preceded to receive in the mail 2 notices again for "Airbag Inflator Recall Repair" that was "Urgently" needed. The letter I received on 6-24-21 stated " the initial recall repair was only a temporary fix to help ensure your safety while new, permanent replacement parts were being developed. " I went with my friend, Joe, mid July to Underriner Honda as he needed work done. I talked to the service manager, Reese Stephan, [Main: 406-255-2350, Service: 406-255-2315, Direct:406-255-2324, reese.stephan@underrinermotors.com] in charge of Jessie ________. I explained the recall situation. I explained I had looked up my VIN on the NHTSA website to confirm this! Reese looked up my car's full VIN number and said "yes", I needed the recall to be done. Reese did not have an apology for me and said he would be gone for the upcoming week. He wrote down another supervisor's name, Shaun, 406-255-2381, who I was to contact should I have any more issues. I called within the next week to reschedule for the recall. Unfortunately I again had to deal with Jessie _____ who at the worst point of the extremely frustrating discussion laughed at me about my insistence that my car needed recall work! I explained I had looked up my VIN on the NHTSA website to confirm this! I hung up the phone very angry and frustrated. Obviously Reese Stephan had not taked to Jessie ____ about my major safety issue!! I called the main office at Underriner and was forwarded to Derek Kopp, who also said my car probably did not need to have any work done. I apologize to the receptionist for my anger and frustration! Then I remembered to look on the back of Reese's business card and called Shaun, 406-255-2381. Shaun graciously apologized and again confirmed for me the recall needed to be done. I do not believe Underriner Honda cares at all about the safety of it's customers. I believe this dealership has been going downhill for a number of years. I've been bringing my Hondas here for service for almost 20 years. I've never had any of the bad experiences others have complained about. Mine have always been positive. One time they informed me I didn't need the service I thought I did and sent me home with just an oil change. Another time when they were having problems diagnosing and fixing a recurring check engine light, they sent me home with a loaner car so they could be sure to get it right. I've bought one car here and would probably buy another except for the fact that I hate buying cars and my Honda Accord may run forever, especially with good service. read more

Excellent customer service but they wanted $410 to replace a broken sun visor clip and broken center console latch on my honda civic. After a 5 min youtube tutorial, I purchased these two parts online for $9 combined and spent 10 minutes total replacing them myself. At that rate (10 minutes of labor for $400), they would be charging $2,400/hr for labor, substantially more than a neurosurgeon gets paid for their labor. I messaged them at 7:50am this morning about a vehicle I wanted to get. Victoria was great but the next person that text me over an hour later didn't introduce themself & wasn't helpful at all. Didn't answer my questions well, was short with answers, & told me to hold a vehicle they would need a $1000 NON REFUNDABLE deposit. My husband & I decided to go for it & get the vehicle so we applied & were approved for it, we checked insurance rates & were just waiting for Joe to call back. Joe had said he would call him back in 10 mins, but called back an hour & a half later to say someone else test drove the vehicle we wanted & bought it! I'm so upset because I messaged them first thing in the morning to get this vehicle & they just let it go to someone else when we already talked to 3 employees at the dealership & got approved for it. This was the exact vehicle I have been looking for, for months now. Shows they don't care about their customers or loyalty, they just care about money. Such BS! Do not bring your car to this service center for any repairs. They do not admit to any errors and are not customer friendly. We took our car in a year ago for work and when we got home had a leak in a hose that they had moved to do service work and of course the denied that they caused the leak. Now we just took our car back in because the clutch they replaced last year needed to be replaced AGAIN. They say it was misuse, yet we have had this car for 17 years and only after last year did we have clutch problems. Now they are saying we are driving wrong and caused the problem. We have not changed our driving practices . Fool me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me. I just thought they would fix the problem and not charge again , but no they always put the blame on the customer. Needless to say I will Never go back or buy another Honda. read more

Took our 2015 Honda Fit in because the A/C quit working. It's still under its 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. They told us over the phone that it probably wouldn't be covered as its most likely due to rodent damage. When we got there, it turned out that was exactly what it was. This is a well known problem it seems, for some reason Honda used Soy in their wire coating, and there is a class action lawsuit against them. We just want Honda to stand behind their product and fix their mistake! read more

a few weeks ago i was en route (from Minnesota) to assist with my Dads hospice near Livingston. i had a mechanical and was referred to Underriner motors. With two dogs in the car , a hot day, two more hours of driving still ahead and my dad rapidly failing, the service crew at Underriner came thru with flying colors. After my poor car got wrecked, I had to get a new one and Underriner was in my top five lists. I went there prepared (detailed lists and spreadsheets basically!) and with the assistance of a saleswoman (whose name I can't quite remember) I found the perfect new car for myself. However, about a week ago my heat stopped working so I took my car in to see what was wrong and there was a messed up engine pin and a blown out blower motor. I wasn't pleased to here this (since I'd been sitting in the lobby for nearly 4 hours and the fact that I'd just bought the car), but the service department was wonderful. They got me in the next business day. More bad news: the mechanic who was supposed to work on my car called in sick, but they were still able to finish and fix my car that day, as well as provide me transportation to and from the dealership (can't quite place his name either, but he's wonderful and very kind). After all this, the service department even able to cut the cost of my bill past half. I'm so grateful for that. My 20 year old Civic needed a new transmission at 96,000 miles. Brought it here first, they quoted me $2400 for a used transmission replacement. That was an awful lot, so I asked to take it home and think about it (because at that cost, for a 1996 car, maybe it was time to think about using the money for a downpayment). I paid $80 for the eval and took it across town to Jim's for a second opinion. They did the job (replaced with a serviced used transmission) for half the cost, and explained to me in full what was going on with my car at every step of the way. At Underriner, I never even met the mechanic, just a service desk woman (who, to her credit, was incredibly nice and had great customer service; but couldn't explain much to me). The lady behind the service desk is the only reason this place got a second star, their service representatives are willing to do everything in their capacity to help you out. read more

They came back and told me I needed a new part and it would cost $650 versus waiting till it completely stopped working and then to replace the whole component would be $1300. I was skeptical and got a second opinion. It turned out the belts needed a little lubrication to run smoothly again and it was successfully addressed at no cost by a local mechanic. we drove12hrs to this location on a snowy day. pictures posted online did not reflect all info on vehicle. they lied about taxes owed to dmv when I called and spoke to finance manager was told nothing they can do, asked to speak to someone higher up and was told that person was not in for the day. I hung up called back from a different number and turns out the controller was there. controller tells me I would have to figure it out. finally get them to semi help and than they are trying to add interest. this place is a joke.
