I had an awful experience with this seller. I ordered two tree frogs, and both arrived completely unresponsive. I gave them time to warm up and acclimate, but they never moved and quickly turned discolored and yellow--they were clearly dead on arrival. When I contacted the seller for help, I was shocked to be offered only 50% of their value for TWO dead animals. That is completely unacceptable. I bought online a set of three ball python yearlings. One of them died within a week, and he also came with ticks. I didn't even call the company as I've heard they won't fix their mistakes. I wish they would be able to send me a new snake, but I am unsure they would consider. The other snakes had mites. One of them looks healthy with the exception of him having mites, but I'm a little concerned about the other one alive... I'm not sure if they would be willing to make it right or not. I tried submitted a dispute about mine that passed away after a week of having him. I would be incredibly hesitant as any animal you receive probably needs heavy rehabiliation.... I have spent over $1000 with this company on animals and every animal that I receive is either sick/dead on arrival/last for a couple months because it's a snake and they can last a couple months and then dies I have other reptiles that I take care of that are in the same room as the reptiles I buy from them and they are alive. I think their issue is they hire a bunch of fiends to go run in the bushes grabbing wild reptiles so they can sell them and normally the wild reptiles after being captive for so long get so depressed that they die. When I ordered, Josiah advised that they he not guarantee Live delivery due to my remote location & cold temperatures in my area. My snake was shipped overnight and I got him at 1:00 PM my time. (UPS driver had NOT kept the package warm despite the "Live Reptile" label.) Snake has stunning colors - even better than what the photos showed. Stay away from this company!! i bought $800 worth of pill millipedes from them and had them shipped overnight FedEx with hold at hub. They were dropped at Fedex at 6:30 PM in Florida and arrived in NJ at 8:00 AM. I was the first person in FedEx at 9 am when they opened and picked up the box. Short drive home, opened the box and all dead with the exception of 3 millipedes which also died later the next day. Temps were in the 20's here but the box and heat pack were still warm. No lag due to temperatures according to Austin there at Underground. Thirteenth and a half hours of travel and all dead?? Impossible that it was caused by temperatures. I've been shipping isopods all winter and have not had one death. Spoke with Austin 2 days later after going back and forth with emails and his offering to make things right was free shipping on my next order. lol. Terrible customer service and sick animals. Don't be fooled when anyone tells you a pig is a teacup or micro mini pig! Don't be fooled when someone tells you a pig they're selling will weigh less then 80 pounds! There is no such thing as micro or teacup pig. (Just an FYI) It depends on what breed of pig it is, but according to the American Mini Pig Association any pig under 350 pounds is considered a MINI pig. Any mini/pot bellied pig could weigh anywhere between 80-300 lbs depending on what you feed it and how often. Education is important and knowledge is power. This company keeps pigs in a reptile cage. Horrible! There is not enough room for it to eat, drink, pee and poo. I would suggest moving the pig to a decent size aquarium where it has more room to move around and do all its businesses in it. AND there isn't even a water bowl inside the cage! Pigs should have access to water 24/7!! If the company is worried about the pig knocking over the water bowl to make a mud pile (which they usually do), I would suggest providing a rabbit water drinker. A small animal feeder where the pig could drink water out of the nipple. No mess or mud to worry about and piggy has water 24/7! And $800 is overpriced!!!!!!! You should check your local SPCA or animal rescue for a much more affordable price. read more

I asked if it was possible to get a 1.2 trio, and was told that's no problem, they'd put a note on my order. When my order came in, I had all females, one dead. They were shipped on dry carefresh with no thermal pack. When I contacted the company, I was offered a store credit for the one DOA ( which wouldn't even cover a replacement if I was buying a single animal, nor would it guarantee me the correct sex), and told there was no note on my order indicating that I wanted a 1.2 trio. Unfortunately I went to buy some rats and as I'm waiting to check out the lady that works at the front was just having a conversation with a guy about immigration and deportation. She was just openly discussing how pro deportation she was. The guy kept giving different scenarios and using personal references telling stories of people he knew struggling, she was impenetrable. Kept mentioning how all of them are on assistance and we are overpopulated. (Mind you the guy was explaining how we're a minority and mostly live as a large household) As a Cuban immigrant, who came at 8 years old, and lived that. I came legally 20 years ago. I've Been a legal citizen for about 15 years thanks to my IMMIGRANT mother who learned all those constitutional and American history questions for the citizenship interview, probably knows more than half of actual "born" Americans + DJT. I left feeling so uncomfortable and sick to my stomach. Only reason I didn't walk out without paying was out of respect for the rats but damn what a terrible experience came out of what should've been a simple mundane errand. I would highly recommend this place to buy lizards from. It was my first time, and the bad reviews made me terrified. But all is well, super well. To me it seems like all of the bad reviews had poor postage service, lived in too cold of an area, or doesn't know how to really care for the specific animal. I read people saying they got sick animals, these guys are far from sick- just healthy as can be and a little feisty. I would say shipping any animal and getting it in the mail is risky, even flying dogs over planes is risky. It's a risk you are going to have to take if you order them. I highly recommend UG. I had heard of Underground Reptiles and had seen some YouTube videos on them. So, my Husband and I took the drive up North to visit them and see what they had. We recently lost our 9 year old Pet, Dino - a Blue Ornate Uromastyx. We went on an extended vacation, left him with Family and upon our arrival found out he had died a few days after we left. It had been a few months and I really wanted another Lizard. My Husband had purchased Dino at U.R. so I was excited when I went. We visited on a Saturday, looked at their beautiful Blue Tongue Skinks, a baby Moroccan Uromastyx and some other nice Lizards & Snakes they had. One in particular caught my eye. A baby (1month old) Indonesian Blue Tongue Skink. We left without purchasing anything and started our drive back to Miami. 20 minutes into our drive, I called over 5 different reptile stores to see if they ever had BABY Blue Tongue skinks and the answer was a firm NO, from everyone I called! To make a long story short, we turned around and bought our baby Skink! We named him Bruni! He is an Indonesian Merauke Blue Tongue and we love him SO MUCH!! The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is because the Uromastyx looked very thin and the tanks had water bowls - which are bad for Desert lizards. That's basic Uro care. They only had romaine, no lentils or beans and the romaine did not show signs of Calcium powder. I didn't like that, so I am giving them a 4 out 5. My youngest son loves all sorts of reptiles, at times my house has been more of a zoo than an actual house. We love having all kinds of pets, from snakes to exotic frogs to all kinds of lizards, we have pretty much had every kind of exotic animal throughout the years. Our dogs and cats have grown up with many other species around them and learned to adapt or sometimes barely tolerate each other. Underground reptiles has always been one of our favorite places to find new additions to the family. This store features healthy well maintained and hard to find species. We enjoy taking our time and observing each immaculately kept tank. On our last visit, we were fortunate because the staff was in the process of feeding, this meant that we got to see each of these beautiful animals moving around and eating which is always a lot of fun. Just bought a baby Herman's tortoise from here along with a baby set up. I was given substitutes instead of the original set up. Some items were also missing. Rabbit food for substrate instead of what was advertised. I paid $200 for a baby tortoise setup. They told me that in store in usually cost more and I got a good deal. When I calculated the actually cost, everything was really worth $90 at most. Definitely a rip off. Red flag #1, they held all of their juvenile axolotls together in 1 tank. Saw a lot of them missing limbs and mutilated. Also saw tiny white spots on their skin throughout tank. In June or July 2020 I bought eight "Cuban King Anole Chameleons," from "UG." I ordered them on a Thursday, they were delivered the following Saturday. They were shipped in a box, well ventilated. Each lizard was in an individual breathable bag, with draw string. All eight lizards are still alive today! I have ordered the "feeder crickets," from "UG," as well. The crickets are shipped in boxes with windows with screen, so they can breathe. I also have bought feeder crickets from Pet Town in Downey where I live. I don't know what's going on on those bad reviews but my experience is perfect! I am in Cali and ordered a blue iguana from their website, the shipping is fast and on time. The iguana is active and healthy, also no broken toes and tail and the main body color is solid blue which is excellent! At the next day it starts eating, and also I received a call from underground reptiles asked me how's the condition etc, pretty good customer service. Right now the ig is still shy and need settle down, will see how many days after I can handle and start to tame it. If I could put negative stars oh trust me I would. This lady with short hair literally handling the tortoises were like tossing the tortoises back in the cages when showing them to us, she flip these turtles like there their the baby rattle toys. Every animal looked sicks and it was super depressing. I've handled and owned snakes, turtles, bearded dragons. I would NOT recommend EVER going there to buy a pet. I believe they should also be closed and the animals should be taken away for how they were handling those poor reptiles.i pray for those animals and if I could I'd take them all.
