We are so happy to stay here, the only 1 star down is the tariff is expensive as they offered. We paid $1900 for 2 tents , we understand it is July 4th holiday and peak time for them but still 900/ tent is quite expensive. The best part here is the view and the service, kids work here are very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Abi the guide she is wonderful, and Bryce who helped us to arranged private cruise is also very nice. We enjoyed, the tents are cold in the night we advise future visitors bring extra warm blankets ( layers ) specially in September October. Overall they deserve definitely 4 star . read more

This was expensive with no amenities. There were no on site activities. Board games and a fire pit near the registration tent don't count. This site is more than 30 minutes from the acclaimed destination (Acadia park). The on site dining is a bunch of kids (no chef) heating up food. The brochure promised a view of the ocean but our tent was so far away there was no view from our tent. Question. Why put the registration tent near the best part of the campgrounds? The tents are on top of each other so there's no privacy. There's no attention to your needs unless you call for it. For example we were told about animals coming to the tent (pretty sure that's mice because we saw one on the path) but no one came to clean the garbage. We carried our own bags on a wagon provide a LONG way to our tent. Because parking is far from your tent. We were given one large towel each. When I called for an extra (for my long hair) the staff came and gave two new ones and removed the other ones. We had to ask daily for the battery packs. They should have been dropped off with new kindling EVERY DAY for the price paid. The wood AND kindling were wet. Not seasoned. So annoying to get a fire going. Ran out of matches. And when asked you are given two small (I mean SMALL) fire starters. The shower was the worst. Each time the water would heat so high I got burned. On my scalp and my face. There is only a 3/4 wall around the toilet and shower so you better love the one you're with because there are no secrets! The bed however was nice. I'll never do this again. For the money spent, the experience was lack luster and there were NO amenities. The staff was nice but again it was a bunch of older teens. DISAPPOINTING read more

I didn't find the value in my two night stay here. I spend just under $1000 for the two nights and (we had two tents so in all $2000 for two nights), for what I thought was a glamping experience. Under Canvas is camping with a few upgrades. Glamping is not a word that should be in their advertising. I actually feel bad that I dragged others to what I thought would be a really fun experience. I reached out to the general manager (Lisa Margraff) to discuss my disappointment with the stay and after speaking with her I'm actually more upset than when I originally left the grounds. It's excuse after excuse with out any real accountability. Please note this camp site is more than 40 minutes from the acclaimed destination (Acadia park). The tents are on top of each other so there's no privacy and you can literally hear what's happing in the next tent over. Additionally, There's no attention to your needs unless you call for it and even when you do it takes hours for them to arrive and according to the general manager (Lisa Margraff) it's your responsibility as a guest to call again for service. Again no accountability for the lack of service. We carried our own bags to and from our room on a wagon to our tent. Please note parking is far from your tent. Additionally, the forest is a mess it literally looks like a bomb went off and nobody bothered to pick up a rake. This I'm told is apart of keeping nature as intended however, I'm not sure why it can't be cleaned. There were plenty of cleared areas. I personally own have a six acre forest property, and in my opinion it is possible to have a beautiful forest that is in line with the eco system. We were given one large towel each in our room and neither was plush. I will say the products in the shower were nice. We had to ask daily for the battery packs.( Also note that battery packs do not offer support to new iPhone chargers, usb only) Freshly charged Lights and battery packs should have been dropped off with new kindling EVERY DAY for the price paid. The wood AND kindling were WET. The logs were cut so big they did not fit in the fire stove. It was So annoying to get a fire going. We had one of the staff help us one night and then we were literally up all night trying to keep it lit. Ps this night it was in the upper 40's so we were sooo cold. The worst part is the smoke from stove smoked out the entire tent because the wood is wet. Apparently this is known problem but they just can't figure out a way to keep the wood dry. Inexcusable, how about covering the wood. All of our belongings smelled like smoke for the rest of our 8 day vacation. It was awful. The shower was the worst. In one of our tents the water would heat so hot we got burned, In the other the water just wasn't hot enough. Apparently you need to call for that too. (in some areas of camp there is no cell service and no wifi so not really sure how they expect some to do this) I guess you need to walk to the main tent in the middle of the night in the dark when you need something. Additionally, you need to hold a chain down the entire time to take a shower otherwise you get hit with bursts of freezing cold water. A knob would be nice. Apparentlly they are trying to be eco friendly by limiting the amount of water you use in the shower. (Does this sound like glamping?) There is only a 3/4 wall around the toilet and shower so you better be comfortable with the one you're with because there are no secrets!   I was so excited to try this one and then head out and try some of their other locations. I'll never do this again. For the money spent, the experience was lack luster and there were NO amenities. TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT. Not Worth The Money Spent. First, this place is NOT GLAMPING by any means and they should remove those words from their advertising. My stay here with friends wasn't completely bad so I'll highlight the things that were acceptable and those that were not. Acceptable: The main tent is cool. Reminded me of something out of Mad Max Thunderdome. The furnishings were nice and comfortable. The staff was friendly. That unfortunately is where it ends. Now onto the UN-Acceptable: Unkept - The property looks like it went through a hurricane. Downed trees, roots, everywhere. The property really needs to be cleaned up in a BIG way. No Food in Tents - We were warned not to have food in our tents as the "vicious" porcupines might make their way in to get your goodies. In reality, no porcupine was seen nor any other animals except for a squirrel. The real reason for this is they want you to eat and drink at the main tent. Food and Drink at the main tent - lackluster. In most cases, just not good. From breakfast to dinner. Blah food. Lighting - Terrible lighting at night. They use the cheapest Walmart solar path markers everywhere that, if you are lucky to have a sunny day, give off a minimal amount of light. If you come here BRING YOUR OWN FLASHLIGHTS. Some More Smores Please - Anytime you want in the evening you can get a cute little bag of items to make Smores at the main tent. Of course, the smores items were all stale. Yummy. Onto the actual tents. You have a choice to be out in the open (looks like a camp on Mars), or in the woods. Regardless of your choice, there is little to no privacy as the tents are positioned so close to one another and you can hear everything going on with your neighbors. Tent Furnishings are TERRIBLE! The most uncomfortable chairs and bed. Nothing from the nice items of the main tent are carried over here. The linens and towels are some of the cheapest I have encountered. The shower is a terrible design and the toilet leaves little to the imagine to your roomies or neighbors. The worst part of the tents is the wood-burning stove. It's is very hard to get a fire lit so much so that the property has a full time guy who will come around with a blow torch to get the fire started. Then you are on your own. The stove only works by having the front hatch open, which as you guessed caused a tremendous amount of smoke to fill the tent. Our clothing smelled like smoke a week later from this experience. This is a LIFE SAFETY issue and someone is going to get hurt or die from these stoves and how they are configured. All in all, was it an experience? Sure, but their false advertising painted a different picture. Nowhere near worth the high dollar paid to be here. I would rather just camp in the woods with my own tent, fire and food. That is more glamorous than this. I think their concept here is a good one, in thought and vision. However the end product and execution of such will have you disappointed. read more

Great idea! So close to great hiking. The place has a beautiful view of the lake. The restaurant inside was surprisingly really good too! We had the burgers (vegan and non), fries, brownie sundae and breakfast sandwiches. All cooked well! The tents are very much in the open, no trees or anything for separation, so u could hear your neighbors (especially those with kids) quite well. It was also a rainy cold weekend (in the 40s at night) and the stove in the tent didn't seem to ever really fully warm the tent and would die off after about 2.5 hours so we didn't get much sleep. I'm sure in the summer it would be 5 stars. Best part; DOG FRIENDLY! read more

Perfect "glamping" getaway near Acadia National Park - for those who don't want to sacrifice comfort but still want to enjoy the outdoors. Yes, it's definitely pricey but a worthwhile experience IMO. The location is a little farther from the park itself, but offers beautiful waterfront views so you can still enjoy the scenery. We were lucky to have a tent at the very end of one of the trails, so we couldn't hear any of our neighbors. The bed was SO comfortable and we found the shower really easy to use. Since we went during the summertime, the heating stove wasn't super essential - thankfully, because it does take some patience and skill to keep it going. The property is beautifully outfitted with West Elm furniture and portable power banks, making for a really comfortable stay. We were most pleasantly surprised by the food. Didn't expect much since I find the majority of in-house restaurants to be subpar when traveling, but everything was delicious and generously portioned. The free s'mores kits at night were a treat. Would definitely recommend, and hope to check out some of their other locations soon. read more

Unless you are 100% sure you will not need to cancel, DO NOT BOOK THIS! I purchased extra cancellation policy ($14 a person for 5 people) and cancelled 6 weeks in advance of trip and this hotel/tent still charged me $150 to cancel. What good is the extra protection if you can't use it. The employees at the hotel were not helpful and very unsympathetic to my situation, but I guess that is just par-for-the course these days. read more

This place is awesome! Tent is well furnished and super modern + cozy. The main tent had a full service restaurant with AWESOME FOOD + a stocked bar. My kids loved the s'mores and all the games. read more
