My wife loves this kind of shit. She looks for it and gets excited when she finds it!
Me... Not so much...
I prefer a place where I can poop and shower in a nearby bathroom, and not have to trek to an out house to take care of business.
Now that information is out of the way I can give you the scoop on this place.
C has had her eye on this place for as long as I can remember. She wanted to stay here as we were on our way to Acadia. When she checked as we got near, it was all booked.
Honestly, we had a very hard time finding a place at all for a day or two when we were near Acadia National Park.
This was the first time our travels have hit a snag where we might not have a place to sleep. I ended up finding an RV to sleep in on the first night into the park. That's another story.... No where to check in on that one. LOL
So.... The second night, she looked and they had a family style Yurt available for us. It was way bigger than we needed but C was determined to stay here.
Arrived and checking it out. It's pretty cool I guess. I like fires. I built one so that's cool.
Here are the things I really liked:
My wife loved it.
They had free firewood and a fire pit to use.
It had a fridge and microwave.
My wife loved it.
The Stone Public House place has really good pizza!
Here are the things I did not like:
There is no bathroom in the tent. You must walk to the outhouse. This is a bad description btw. It's a really nice bathroom and shower trailer. Full access to all of the amenities of home. Except you have to walk to it.... Can you tell I didn't like this yet?
It was cloudy, could not see stars. Not on them.
Some asshat discharged a pistol round at the campsite early in the evening of our stay. I am not sure why, but I did not have a weapon on my person, so I was not thrilled to wonder why without a counter measure in place. I am pretty sure I heard a family frantically leaving shortly after. Not on them either, but damn...
It was freaking cold man. There was a heater in the tent but it didn't really do much, so big time snuggles that night. I guess that is a good/bad thing. It got down to about 45 outside and felt like about 55 inside.
I could not park near my tent and had to drag my shit from up top to the bottom both ways. I am not sure why we could not. It is totally built for it.
It's not that bad really. I am just spoiled. I would say it's three stars but C would kill me if she ever saw it, so five it is. Let's hope she never actually reads this.
No one will get this far for sure! LOL. Free nights stay here on the owner if you do!! Tell him you won the Adamventure Yelp Super Duper package!! Let me know if he gives you any crap, I paid for it all in advance.
