Small but efficient. We had premium site facing bay with no one blocking our view. The management were very accommodating and even had a happy hour with beer, wine& snacks for all campers. It was a lot of fun talking and meeting people from all over. They are planning a large revamping of the entire grounds for next year. I'd love to come back again.

The beach is beautiful, quiet, close and the water was clear. Absolutely lovely.

Here's my 5 year review of Northport Campground in Northport, ME…read moreWe stayed here in 2019, and at that time, the owner said he was going to be updating and clearning up the campground. The pool had been closed, and the bathroom/shower house was disgusting with black "mold" or something around the edges of the shower floors. We had been assured that these things were going to be taken care of. We stayed here for 8 nights! At the rate they charged ($60/night), it is a shame, and if we could have gotten a refund and gone elsewhere, we would have!! Although their website says, "Clean indoor rest rooms with flush toilets and hot water. Hot showers," not one thing has been remodeled or fixed since we had been here 5 years ago. There is no way I or my husband would shower in these showers. There is no office, there is no laundry room, there is no wifi. The trash dumpster hasn't been emptied since we got here, and when we arrived, it was already almost full! There is one "permanent" mobile home that looks like it's ready to fall off its "foundation." They have a food truck in front of some of the worst, trashiest area behind it and next to his house. This beautiful piece of property has deteriorated badly. It had about 10 RVs, and only about 3 had any people. All the rest looked like they were being stored here! My advice is to stay away. No matter how nice the owner was, the campground is a rip-off. --

We did not stay at the campground but we stopped by to eat at the food truck. AMAZING!!!…read moreLobster roll was stuffed with fresh lobster, shrimp plate was delicious. My husband doesn't like breaded food but his scallops were out of this world. The light breading was done by hand and had a great flavor. Hand cut fries and the blueberry homemade pie were excellent. Best meal of our trip so far. Do yourself a favor and stop at this hidden gem. The family is very friendly and we chatted with them for a while. Id show you pictures but we are our food to quickly.

Medomak Family Camp

This family camp is a true gem - the best kind of all-inclusive vacation for families. My family of…read morefive loves it. The kids spend time by themselves, my husband and I have time alone and together, and we have time with the kids to enjoy each other as a family. The camp is large enough for the kids to exercise their independence --heading to the barn for activities or kayaking in the cove by themselves without me worrying about them. When we go, I don't cook, clean or plan anything - which as a busy mom, is the best kind of vacation. The camp is rustic and simple but very clean with beautifully manicured grounds - a space just perfect for appreciating nature. The food is delicious (I probably gained 5 lbs last week) and easily catered to special diets. I enjoyed a nice mix of structured activities (fishing, sailing, art, archery, land sports, barn dance, bingo, etc) and down time (time at the lake or for a nature walk or just to relax around the fire). I also appreciated the sense of community that camp strives to create each week among the family members. At about 10-12 families per week, it is just the right size. Can't recommend this special place highly enough and I can't wait to go back.

We were warmly welcomed by the amazing staff and guided to private cabin which was perfectly outfitted for our family of 4. The daily schedule has great variety and tailored the ages of all campers. The staff is knowledgeable, caring, accommodating and creates a wonderful family environment. A great place to disconnect from daily routines and reconnect with each other. It is a great place.

Camp wood and lobster pots were supplied for cooking lobster & marshmallows at the campsite, though the wood was not well seasoned & smoked a lot. I've also seen deer & hawks in the campground and they are beautiful to watch. There is potable water, electric hook up and a dump station. All the fellow campers I've met at this campground were friendly and helpful and Troy & Monica White are great hosts. Troy goes out of his way to meet his campers & their needs. There is a great little market about 8 min. away called Burnt Cove Market where you can get anything you need including gas, ice, groceries & a bottle of wine. I have enjoyed this campground two years in a row and there are plenty of things to do and see on & around Deer Isle and Stonington including Nellieville, a must see village of life sized junk people created by sculptor, Peter Beerits (https://www.nervousnellies.com/about-us/). There is also an enlightening presentation on the history of the coastal fishing/lobstering market in Maine given down at Stonington Harbor by Leroy Weed, an engaging and very knowledgeable, lifelong lobsterman. There are harbor cruises (we went with Captain Walker who enjoyed sharing additional history and his upbringing on the harbor), and of course those Maine lobsters, as well as shops, and great food. Will definitely be coming back again in the future!

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.

The bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept. This place was ok overall but I expected more based on what we paid per night....
