Even when you first meet her it's like visiting an old friend. My husband and I came last year in October and stayed here for an anniversary trip. The campsites were spacious and private and the trees large and beautiful. The outdoor showers were his favorite part. Everything is clean and tidy. We stayed at lot 806 and the views were amazing. I will say, we stayed out of season in Mid October so we had a lot of spots to choose from. Booking was super easy and the check in process very simple. Property was beautiful, bathrooms and shower very clean. The bathhouse was alittle cold in the morning but the windows were open, the door was as well and adding that it was 35 degrees through the night so can't judge them on that. Thank you again for an easy and wonderful stay. We will be back next fall.

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.

At the end of a winding scenic drive this place is what you think of when you think Coastal Maine. During the summer there is a concession stand, life guards, and park staff. The lagoon is a calm warmer more shallow place to swim, perfect for the kiddos. There beach goes on for miles and waves crash along the sand and the rocks. Tons to do and explore! Climb around the rocky shore, explore tide pools, and make sand castles! It's a family friendly place, with some of most breathtaking views in the State. Bring a nice picnic there are a lot of picnic tables scattered around there are two beaches to explore with plenty of parking as well as changing rooms, showers, and ADA compliant restrooms. There is also a large shelter that groups can use for meetings, cook outs etc. No pets allowed during certain months. Put this park on your must visit list if you're in Maine.

While sites are small and close, we had adequate room for our camper and truck side by side and then room to sit and enjoy the sounds of the Atlantic Ocean from less than 100' away. Our site shared a utility post with neighbor site (front end and wrong side for us as back in unit) and voltage showed low so we used post on next site from us (they were tenting and didn't need power and said ok to plug to their post) Lots of children while we were there, but they were all so well behaved and everyone was enjoying the cool Seabreeze compared to the stifling temps further in town. Lots of rules and regs at this place, but that's part of what made it the perfect location for us during this trip. It gets a 4 out of 5 due to low voltage and utility hookups in a bad setup for us. We're ok with no sewer dump on our site (you can use their's once for every 3 nights or pay extra) but we're use to state parks and such so it was no problem.

The best part is the camraderie of the other campers, ovbiously from some of these ridiculous comments, not everybody "gets it" (try KOA or DaysInn!) - its the fellow campers tuned into the magic. Thank you Eleanor for all you do to keep this special place accessible, I look forward to coming "home" . My kids' best memories are from the Lobster Buoy and we reminisce often.

We went to load our dog onto a canoe and hope that she would be good with it but of course she wasn't and so when she hopped out of the canoe some stuck up lady yelled at us as we were struggling to get back onto the beach.. Dogs are allowed on the beach and I'm like yeah I know our dog jumped out of the canoe and we're heading back and we have to go through the beach to get the canoe back on land.., water stunk and the kids were screaming CACA Mama the water smells like caca Not sure if it's that time of the year where the heat hits in the humidity to where it increases water smell? I probably wouldn't return if I was to be honest it wasn't my type of thing But the office was really nice and the place was clean and hook ups were real easy to get to.. And price was very affordable.
