I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!

And the bartender was there to help the rest of my family with recommendations/clarifications about the different cocktail offerings. All of our drinks were delicious! We didn't get any food but the menu looked interesting, for sure! My one complaint was that the service was deathly slow -- despite us being one of only two parties in the restaurant that had a bartender and a server working the floor.

First, the bartender couldn't remember the difference between a white and a red wine. Okay. Also, how about give your name and introduce yourself without a snide remark and glance. Plus, if you reserve a table, shouldn't it be reserved? Like, should I wait 10-15 minutes for the table? It was reserved. So, I guess they are a tapas restaurant? The menu should not be so cryptic that you can't understand what the food is, and what the meal is. Are you trying to make me feel stupid? Mission accomplished. So, my biggest beef is this: DO NOT put a hanger steak on the menu for $44 like you are going to get a steak. A steak is a slab of meat. Like a meal. What I got was a few steak tips hiding under leaves of lettuce. 5 bites at most. That was $8.80 per bite. I kid you not. The drinks, really? Canned beer should not cost $15 a can. Draft, maybe. But $15 should get me a 6 pack. The chicken was the best, and we got 7 "meals." But everything was super salty. If you come to Portland for a high brow meal, this is not it. If you want tapas, go to Central Provisions. It's got really good food, a better price, and less snootiness. Thanks Regards, give my regrets.

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.

The bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept. This place was ok overall but I expected more based on what we paid per night....

We stayed July 4th weekend and when we booked in January this was one of the last tent sites available. Granted it was July 4th, but still something to think about. There are a few lucky tent sites that overlook the water which would be incredible. Maybe next time we can book earlier and snag one. Each site has everything you will need -- a platform for your tent (perfect incase it rains), an electrical outlet, running water, a picnic table and a firepit. It is clean and well-kept, and you are never too far from a bathroom / shower facility. Just note that the shower is $1 for 5 minutes and you'll need quarters. There is a main house where you can buy wood and other supplies. During non-covid times they also have a gathering place where you can buy snacks. I believe the rate is around $50 dollars a night but I'm not sure if the rate changes depending on the weekend, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher than normal over July 4th. This is a wonderful campsite and I'd happily return. In comparison, I've also camped at the Oceanside KOA in Bar Harbor and this campsite is way better. Be sure to check it out!

She offered many tips and made sure we were all set. In the morning on the 5th we grabbed some coffee inside the reception area. We toured the gift store and checked out the restaurant menu. We needed a couple extra bath towels and the gentleman behind the reception counter was very helpful and accommodating. Our cottage was the perfect size for the five of us. We even made one bathroom work n with no issues. The bathroom is actually a pretty good size. The bathroom could definitely use some hooks throughout to hang towels and maybe wet bathing suits, etc. Especially since this is geared for a party of 6. We had no problem with hot water. The living room set up is also a decent size with a working fireplace and a table and chairs in the corner. The kitchenette is tiny but packs a lot in there. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were clean and soft. The porch was so inviting. We sat outside numerous times and enjoyed it. The WiFi worked great, no issues. We used the pool one evening and that was perfect after a day of walking. Towels are provided and the pool is heated but not super warm. We had no problem swimming in it. I like that the pool will be open slightly later 830/9 depending on dusk time. Only complaint is how fast some cars go out front in the property. My concern is there is many people in that area on and off during the day including children. But, that is no fault to them. Maybe speed bumps to help slow people down?
