I realized the location wasn't going to work for me with my work (i work in construction and we move jobs sites frequently) so I went in and canceled. The start of the billing cycle is on the 1st. I was told when I signed up I would be charged then for my first month plus a pro rated charge for the partial month of January. When I canceled my membership which I did BEFORE the start of the next billing cycle (February 1st) I was informed that they would be increasing my rate from $45.00 a month to $55.00 a month and that they will be charging me for the month of February as well as the pro-rated January charge at the new rate. This place has all kinds of extra facilities to use that members HAVE TO PAY FOR to use them. There is a member discount but it's not much. Also I signed up to start with a personal trainer and was given an appointment date and time. I canceled other appointments i had to make sure i could meet my obligation. the trainer called me the day before and canceled on me and offered me other appointment times. which means he gave MY appointment away to someone else. VERY UNPROFESIONAL! that was my appointment and if someone missed theirs its up to them to work that out, not my responsibility to give up my appointment and inconvienece myself because they couldn't drive in the snow. (BTW u wasn't even asked if i was willing to give my appointment up and reschedule, I was offered a new time and when that didn't work I was pretty much told to let him know what would) bottom line STAY AWAY, this place obviously has poor business practices and ethics and there are much better facilities for the cost of a membership.

Whether you're an avid yoga practitioner or have been contemplating trying yoga for the first time, it's an absolute must. My only warning is that you'll be hard pressed to find a better experience once you step foot in the studio. I started practicing with the founders, Jeri Wilson and Susan Golden, more than 10 years ago when I was 16. Both continue to teach at the studio even though it recently changed hands and is now owned by Kathleen Haberstock. But I have to say, Jeri and Susan spoiled me and my yoga experience for the rest of my life. I've lived in big cities from the east coast to the west and I still come back to the joy of these teachers and this studio. This place is truly a community. From the teachers who lead classes to the students who take the time out of their day to practice with one another in this space, it feels like coming home whenever I take a class. There is an abundance of teaching styles and multiple class levels so it's always easy to find something that fits what you need and where you are in your life and your physical ability. They offer events and teacher trainings and host teachers from other studios who bring something different to the table and allow this small community to experience world-class talent. If you're reading this and just discovering School Street Yoga for the first time, I urge you to take a class and see how lucky Waterville is to have a studio of this caliber. And if you're reading this and you already know what I'm talking about, this is your friendly reminder to return to the studio and your practice. You won't regret it.
