NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! THIS IS A COLLEGE HANGOUT. DON'T GO! KEEP DRIVING...all the way to one of the lakes. How does a resort minutes outside of a national park have availability during peak season? Oh, let me count the ways. I reserved a group tent site in May 2023 for 2 nights. We talked about the site with the "pond." I mentioned extra people, up to 12 possibly. 4 tents, dogs, extra vehicles including camper vans (Class B). Site 30 is a smallish field with room for dogs to run and a decent amount of people to hangout. (NO POND. That part is false advertising. It's an overflow drainage hole that is now empty and full of debris.) Site 30 is at the end and not surrounded by other sites. It all sounded fine and very possible. We pull in after touring the park all day and the tag says we're in group site 42. I'm already thinking, that's not the right number. Site 42 is supposedly a group tent site and in the middle of other sites. Site 42 doesn't have a single inch of flat space. The parking area is not flat, the tent area is not flat. Keep in mind I originally intended to put 4 tents in the space. No way could this site hold that many tents, vehicles or people that I originally intended to bring. The owner didn't know our numbers had been reduced when we showed up. It's late but we call the office number, and the owner comes to the site. She tells us a larger group also made a reservation and we were BUMPED from 30 and she gave it to them. She tells us we have "giant" vans and usually people don't bring those. Where we parked the vans is where tents should go she said. Again, the space isn't flat enough for tents so we thought we might as well park there. Later on she sees the tents we put up and apparently, they are also "giant." We're travelling with our family. How else do you put 4 or 6 people in a tent unless it's giant? (We'll get to this reasoning.) Did you hear an apology? Yeah, we didn't either. We're pretty frustrated at this point and it's late. Next door to Site 42 are a couple of single tent sites with framed in, FLAT tent areas. Parking is still abysmal, and our vehicles don't fit. We put one van in overflow parking which was actually almost flat. Seriously! Why make overflow parking flat and not the actual site parking areas?!? We set up 1 tent in each space. One van still has to park at an angle on an incline and it doesn't really fit. The mom sleeping in that van didn't do much sleeping at that incline. I didn't get to the party happening in the next sites, yet. Yep, big college-age crowd being super loud until very late also kept our people awake. Kids like this don't drive big camper vans or have big family-size tents. Later we found out from a local, who was nice enough to listen to our story, that this is exactly what TimberWolf is known for: for being the teenage/college hangout site. That's why family-size anything doesn't work at this "resort." The locals rolled their eyes when we mentioned this place and apologized to us that we had to have this experience. Oh! The locals know how to the apologize...the owner, not so much. Next morning, (yes, the story continues) dads and kids are sitting around the campfire finishing up the $6 bucket of wood we purchased the night before. The owner comes around and tells them about the fire restrictions that just went into effect that morning and tells them to put the fire out. She actually tries to tell our dogs to be quite so she could talk. LOL! Does she offer to buy the wood back? NOPE!!! She says, "You had plenty of time to burn the wood last night." No, we didn't because we were moving campsites and trying to get ourselves set up! Does she apologize? NOPE!!! She sent an email, we should have known better. We're camping and vacationing, not reading emails. Was there a sign on the wood pile the night before that said anything about making sure to use it all up that night because of the restrictions the next day? NOPE!!! So, we're quite irritated with all the rude, condescending behavior. (Don't judge all Montanans by this woman. Usually, we're really nice and have awesome customer service.) We also heard comments from another family about their stay being one of the worst experiences they've had. We decide to hit the road and find somewhere else to hangout and camp for another night. The owner finds me and asks me for the # of people, vehicles, dogs, like she's working up a bill. I'm thinking, you're really gonna charge us for this huh? Yep, in addition to my prepayments, she wants more money. When we stop by the office to checkout and find out what she's been up to, she just hands me a receipt and asks for more money. Yes, there were slight discounts. But really, there's no value given at this place. What did I pay for? To be on a hill, get rudely treated, and charged for every little thing. read more

Beautiful park with lots of great amenities, including a group fire pit, a cabana with 3 gas grills, an awesome playground for the kiddos and a great covered pavilion for gatherings! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Some of them even have some of their hand crafted items for sell in the gift/supply shop! The owners have some of their hand crafted pottery available too! Surprisingly, they don't gouge you at all for the supplies available either! That's a huge bonus to me because most places like this seem to do just that! They have rv spots with full hookups and spots with just electric. They also have cabins and a small B&B apparently. Only a few things that could make this park a little better, in my opinion. 1: a little wider spaces. Although, they are all at an angle which makes it feel a bit more open. They are wider than some parks though! 2: a leash free pet area would be awesome. 3: the nightly fee is high enough that I feel like charging for showers is excessive. So future campers know, it's 50 cents for 10 minutes. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Timber Wolf Resort. We stayed here while exploring Glacier National Park. For two nights I camped on a large group site, and one night I stayed in the cabins. The people who work at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. The campsites were clean when we arrived and so was the cabin. I would recommend Timber Wolf Resort to anyone looking for a clean campsite or cabin in this area. read more

Stayed at one of their tent sites for 2 nights while visiting Glacier NP in summer of 2020. It's clean, private, quiet, with ample firewood available and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The owners (??) were so nice and helpful. Felt very COVID safe! We will definitely be back. read more

NOT motorhome friendly. It's an older tent and tow behind location and very tight for MH's. Lack of disclosures, they don't want campers to use the restrooms after 10pm because they are tucked into 'lodge' and are shared by renters. They close noon to 3 so you can't check in. The propane tank in on the road, at a curve, around a tree making an exit in a coach nearly impossible. If you're more than 32 feet find somewhere else. read more

I'm leaving this review as a warning for those visiting on Motorcycles. This location is NOT motorcycle friendly. Everyone on the phone was very nice, but after repeatedly asking about road conditions for motorcycles I was NOT told the truth. The photos are VERY misleading too. The drive from the office to the camping and cabin area is all gravel...loose, large, hard to manage gravel. The "path" slopes at crazy angles - at least 30 degree angles - is very rough, lots of ruts and uneven. We dropped two motorcycles trying to get to our campsite and back out after realizing the horrible conditions. I even scraped the bottom of my SUV trying to drive on their "roads". Also, the tent sites are not on grass, dirt or sand - more GRAVEL. read more

My husband and I stopped here on a road-trip out west. We rented a "Pioneer Cabin." This was my first time going cabin-camping, but I was actually surprised. We stayed here for a week, and every moment was a treat. The owners are on site all the time and are beyond helpful. They seem to really love what they do and enjoy those of us who stay here. We checked in very late the first night, and our check in info was left in a visible place, with very clear directions about how to get to our space easily. They have tolerated my daughter's countless visits to their office to borrow board games and buy more post cards (which she can't reach, meaning they have to help her). And I know they will treat her so well each time she goes, which lets me give her the chance to be independent with those little journeys. The site where we are is as level as anyone could want in this terrain, and everything on the camp is clean, well-maintained, obviously tended to with love. Our next Glacier trip will absolutely have this place as home base; the west entrance to the park is super close. Stay here--you absolutely will not be disappointed in any way. (If you use the sanidump app, by the way, it lists the timber wolf as having a dump station, but that is incorrect--no dump station on site, but one close at a Conoco.) read more

I came to Montana to experience nature and to get away from the greedy corporate culture that is the Bay Area. Montana is one of the few places on Earth where you could get away from corporate America, and appreciate nature and the great outdoors. The owners of Timber Wolf Resort are a reminder that corporate greed exists everywhere. The story began in July 2016 as I was planning a trip for my birthday at the end of July. This time of the year gets very busy for Glacier and I could not find any accommodations but the one at Timber Wolf Resort. The cabins were $125 per cabin and were very basic. The business nature of the "resort" became apparent when I had to continuously feed a shower every 10 minutes with a $.50 to get a hot shower. The absurdity in prices continued at the gift shop of the "resort" where they charge $5 for forks and knives, $2 for a small miniature box of cereal. In fact, there was a "clearance" sale that had items "50%" off," including a $38 hat (note: I bought an official park hat for $18 at Logan Pass visitor center, and supported the Park not some business people). The lack of professionalism of the owners of Timber Wolf started the first day when I received a note on our cabin door when we returned from a long day of hiking, informing us that there was a problem with our booking. At 6AM, the next morning, I decided to call the owners and see what the issue was. The owner informed me that she booked us in the wrong cabin and that we needed to move. This was an extreme inconvenience for us, as we were ready to hit the National Park and start our day of hiking. As most of you know, the secret in successfully navigating the national parks is to start early. The owner used her sweet Texan charm to explain the problem in the booking, clearly her problem not ours. I naturally asked her why she could not simply put the new guest in the new cabin and adjust their booking, instead of moving us. She kept insisting and did not leave us with any other option but to pack all of our belongings at 6am and move us. I told her that we wanted to book another night and if there was something/anything she could do it would help us immensely. She said she would look at the system and get back to us; she did neither, nor had the courtesy to stop by (leave a note) and say there was nothing available. The next day, as we were about to check out, I asked her if she was able to find accommodations for us. She said there was nothing. When I asked her if she could make a simple tent cite for us, she said there was nothing. She then went on to say I committed fraud by writing that I had five people in our party when my reservation said four. This made my extremely upset because two of our guests were a couple that was staying at a hotel in Kalispell. Further, we had set up a hammock on a tree outside the cabin and she assumed someone had stayed in the hammock overnight (note: no reasonable person would spend the night in a hammock in Grizzly country!). She said she wanted to charge me $10/head. At that point I had a real sour taste in my mouth, gave her my credit card, and begged her to charge me the extra money. She obviously cared more about the $10 charge than customer service or the long-term future of her business. I also told her that I was an attorney and that she needed to look up the definition of fraud. At this point, she started back pedaling very quickly. She asked me what I would do in her position. I told her, that I would do something, anything, to make me feel that it was worth my time moving from one cabin to the other, sacrificing my time on the mountain. Perhaps, a small parting gift from the gift shop? She laughed at the idea. At that point I gave up and just asked her for a complimentary coffee, and her reply was "that would be $1.50." I understand with or without this review, the Timber Wolf Resort will be fine, because of it's proximity to the majestic Glacier National Park. I just wanted to write this review to discuss the lack of professionalism and greed of the owners of Timber Wolf Resort. Timber Wolf Resort is another example of outsiders (Texans) coming into Montana to exploit it for its beauty and profit from every opportunity possible. read more

My fiancé and I were so impressed by this place! The bathrooms were super clean and smelled great. We rented the pioneer cabin for three nights ( no electricity, heat or bedding) and fell in love with it. The beds were comfortable and we both were very happy with our accommodations. The cabin was super cute, clean and very well maintained. The owners were extremely friendly and it's a Very short drive to the west glacier entrance. We are both looking forward to coming back here next year. read more

Beautiful little place near the West Entrance to Glacier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are very clean and safe and they welcomed our dog Verne. The restrooms and showers are very clean and convenient. The family running the campground is so nice and so accommodating. Would recommend to anyone! read more

Where to start... Me and my family came here looking for somewhere to stay that was cheap, fun, family-friendly, and nice. We found everything we wanted and needed+more. The owners couldn't be nicer and the service was exceptional. I was surprised to find the bathrooms were clean and smelled good, and the water wasn't freezing cold like some I've stayed at. Great location and excellent price before the fees! Don't think they should charge you for extra kids and showers since they call themselves a resort. Loved the central location to Flathead Lake, the Citites and Glacier West entrance. Paid too much for green firewood that would not burn (found way cheaper wood at the grocery store that was dry and would burn), charged my mom $75 to sleep in her car with her dogs (she and the dogs all 4 pounds of them never stepped foot in your cabins). Little bit annoying that the bathrooms and showers were cleaned every morning around 10:00 and closed for at least 1 hour (some people on vacation are just getting around at this time and it created serious delays). Would like to see better options for trash (recycling? yes Montana recycles) Glacier park had great recycling options. All in All the cabins were great, RV and Tents sights appeared to be great since we did not use them. Definately not a resort though. Have been going to multiple web sites and reading all the other 1 star horrible reviews. read more

Hello Reader, As usual my wife, son, and I are last minute for trip planning because that's just the way we are as a family unit. So I called the KOA in West Glacier, Montana and to our disparity / frustration they were full, zero occupancy. KOA recommended Timber Wolf Resort as an alternative choice in West Glacier to stay at. I called Timber Wolf Resort and booked with the owner Christine at the time of booking she was busy helping guests that were in her lobby and asked for my number to call me back to complete the reservation. I was apprehensive about this because most businesses will not call you back; however, she called me back probably within ten minutes to make a reservation. I can actually say that when I arrived the following day I was extremely surprised with how neat and orderly the business was run and the grounds were kept spotless. Someone who travels regularly around the country rates this grounds in the top 5 for vacation pleasure and simplicity . The things that appeal to me were the one on one of the owner to the customer overall experience , the grounds were well kept , moreover how friendly the atmosphere here is for Children and Family, and just the overall vibe that Timber Wolf Resort gives out in a positive manner . I really hope that my review makes you want to book here if you have not already stayed here in the past. I will without apprehension stay here again with my family especially with their WiFi offerings to help facilitate my own personal work needs. This place is wonderful! I went tent camping with my husband and three kids. The campsite was beautiful and the bathrooms were the cleanest I had ever seen in a campground. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the playground. A lot of nice, extra touches and pride of ownership really shows through. It's also very close to Glacier. We booked this RV park for four nights. When we arrived we paid the balance in full at the office and went to our designated site. As soon as we got to the site we could see that this was not a good site. There were no alternative sites. All of the sites for big rigs are lined up on terraces so that when you walk out your door you have to hang on are you going to slide down to the next Terrace, or the road. I contacted the office a couple of hours after we arrived and asked that we be refunded two nights because we didn't want to stay for the four nights we paid for. We were informed that their policy is no refunds for early leave. So we stuck it out for two nights and left. They kept the other two nights payment. Sewers are uphill which makes no sense, difficult to flush out. They advertised free Wi-Fi however until the second day I could not logon. I was told sorry the owners are not available don't have anything to help you. Staff was very friendly. That is the only positive comment I can make. I would not recommend this park. There are many other RV parks in the area that appear to have flat even sites. RV parks with this type of policy steer clear of. It's obvious they have trouble with people wanting to leave early. read more

My daughter and her family reserved a camp site in Whitefish that was far less than what was promised when they arrived. The asked for their deposit back and were now homeless during the busiest part of the season. I found Timber Wolf Resort on-line (remember seeing it in my travels) and made a call. I was happy to hear that there was a tent site available. The person I talked to on the phone was one of the most pleasant people I have ever talked to. She held the site until my daughter arrived. According to my daughter the site was perfect. Great fire pit, nice table and good site for the tent. The bathrooms were clean, small charge for the shower (.50) for over ten minutes. The grounds were beautiful, hiking path very nice and the camp store great. 20 acres of wooded area. Camp sites were not close together and the greenery kept their site somewhat private. Thanks for making what could of been miserable a great three days for the family!! See you again soon!! read more
