I was unfamiliar with it, but located it by an AI search, which also informed me that they use a separate vegetarian fryer and have their own in-house soy products. It was a low-end operation, with some spartan indoor seating, counter service, and a small drink refrigerator among the few touches of note. I got a plum-based imported drink. From their vegetarian menu I selected a panang curry with tofu and some dumplings. The dumplings were fairly basic and cabbage-y, but served my needs pretty well and tasted fresh. My tofu was served with green beans, and I was considering another green bean dish so I was happy about this. Again on the basic side, but the hearty fried tofu and a fruity aroma mixed with spicy flavor made for a successful dish in my book. The menu was broad, which I got the sense was due to this place's owners coming from a Malaysian Chinese background. Just ordered dinner from Uncle Lim's. This review is specifically for the Red Curry Noodle Soup. This is the perfect soup for a cold winters night. I had half a lime leftover from a Moscow mule I made and squeezed that on top and the soup was perfect. Some heat, some sweet, with a not too thick or rich curry base. The soup has noodles, eggplant, chicken, and some greens. It was so flavorful, I used my chopsticks and then drank the broth! The take out container is enough for at least two servings. Best quality Americanized Asian style food around. I've now tried a few of their different dishes and all are well executed. Even my toddler will indulge with me. Their sauces don't taste like chemicals which I appreciate. A great place for vegans as they have many options that can be ordered straight from the menu. I love supporting this family business even seeing small children at play there from time to time (they've always been sweet to my little girl). I asked for Thai hot but this was the blandest I've ever had (I put hot sauce on it that I had at home). The egg roll wasn't cooked all the way so it tasted doughy. The fried rice was meh as well. Ordered dinner from Uncle Lim's for the first time last evening, in an ongoing effort to try and nail some great Chinese takeout. I think we may have found the leader in Wilmington now. Not only was the food incredibly fresh, it tasted clean! Best part of this experience is that you can place a phone call directly to Uncle Lim's Kitchen and order delivery, bypassing the expenses of 3rd party fees, only paying a $2.99 total delivery fee. FOOD: Roast Pork with Mushroom (spicy) entree with fried rice; Beef w/ broccoli and white rice; Order of 6 crab rangoon; 2 egg rolls. The egg rolls were hot and fresh as expected. Size was adequate and the flavor was on par with many others I've tried. They don't really give you that "Wow" factor to set themselves apart but they were prepared and fried well. The crab rangoon appetizer had a wonderful flavor and also cooked well. However, after trying many others in Wilmington, these had moderate filling rather than a generous, plump pocket, bursting at the folds. My wife loved her beef and broccoli with steamed rice. When I asked her what she thought overall, she stated that it was so fresh with tender beef, crisp broccoli and an overall "clean" taste / finish to the palate. After I opened my container of spicy pork with mushrooms, I instantly noticed something very different compared to other Asian takeout places...these ingredients look like they are prime ingredients, fresh out of the wok and no preservatives. After tasting the entree with fried rice, my wife was correct...it tasted like, and may very well have been, "clean" food with clean ingredients. I'm impressed. Uncle Lim...thank you. This is the type of fast asian food I have been looking for. Not too much oil, no MSG, light and fresh ingredients. SCORE: 3.9 STARS!! SERVICE: I called Uncle Lim's directly just to see if I may luck out with direct delivery. I did. No service fees, third party charges...just that $2.99 tack-on. I'm good with that. The gentleman on the phone was friendly, efficient and very easy to communicate with. My order was placed after he stated the time and delivery fee (full disclosure is always a plus). This was easy, pleasant and no hassle. SCORE: 5 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: I think I may have found my favorite (overall) place to have asian cuisine delivered. The flavors are great, portions met expectations and all of the food was prepared flawlessly. I like this place. My girlfriend is vegan and she found a lot of helpful options at this restaurant. I really like the guy who delivers. Really nice fella. The only negative I would say is there is a communication barrier, at times. Also, there is a $40 spending requirement to deliver to Myrtle Grove. But, that's not really their fault. Recently moved to the area, I have been looking for a go-to Sunday night Chinese restaurant. Based off of other yelp reviews, I decided to choose this one. They are always relatively fast and each time I have ordered, the food has had the same consistency/quality/quantity. The only thing I have ordered (multiple times) is their chicken and broccoli with vegetable fried rice and either an egg or vegetable spring roll. The chicken was similar to previous Chinese take-out restaurants that I have been to (kind of rubbery, tbh it grosses me out to the point of where I can only eat it sometimes). Their rice is a little flavorful, but nothing to brag about. However, they do have a really really good spring roll if you are in the mood for one of those. The egg roll isn't bad per-se, however, it is very very very very greasy (which is somewhat expected). They have a huge range of soups. I've gotten the egg drop soup before and it honestly didn't have any real flavor at all (no matter how much I got my hopes up to try to imagine that it did). I haven't tried any of the other soups though. You do get a very large portion for a very good price (which is something I look for in restaurants). I rated this a 3/5 mainly because it really isn't much to brag about. I got my hopes up going here after all of the 5-star reviews, but really it only deserves a 3. The staff are really nice and I do still come back here whenever I am in the mood for late-night take out, however just know that it isn't going to be SUPER amazing but it will definitely do the trick!! read more

Pretty solid Chinese food. Or maybe it's easier to say South eastern Asian food based around many Chinese dishes that Americans are familiar with. They're the only show in town that I found that has chow fun noodles. Staff is super friendly, service is quick and the food is good. I'm a pretty tough critic on places like this normally, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the place. They locked me in as a customer. Will I say it's the best Asian cuisine I ever had? No. It's impossible in this region to say that. In my opinion, the best Chinese food is in New York, San Fran, or of course, in Asia. Read the negative reviews and don't see the big deal. I ordered the food being weary but everything turned out fine. I got the beef and broccoli because one review said the beef and garlic was the only saving factor. The beef was tender, sauce was good and not overly salty(which I can tell because I have a heart issue so any high salt content sends my heart rate skyrocketing) the egg roll was to be expected and the vegetable fried rice was better than most Chinese restaurants. Also I tried the pork dim sum as it was recommended by reviews and it was perfect. Not sure if the bad reviews are old and it's now new management but what I experienced was everything I wanted. Delivery driver was also 15 minutes early and very friendly. Recent update. Phone service was extremely rude.
