This place is undoubtedly the best Mexican food restaurant you will find in Oklahoma City. I ordered the fajitas, both chicken and beef, and the flavor was to die for. The tortillas were absolutely delicious. The service was the best service I've had in a very long time - my waitress Loren was very, very good and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu. She was just as amazing as the food! Thank you Uncle Julio's and thank you Loren for a great dining experience! read more

Definitely worth the wait but there is a wait time. Our waitress was Jasmine and she was from the Houston location helping train at this location. With her was Aldon, he needed NO training!! He was EXCELLENT!! Our drinks were always full, he brought out ice without being asked when it looked like the ice was gone from my drink. The teamwork was terrific and made the experience delightful. The food was delicious. My new favorite Mexican spot for sure (when I'm not in a hurry). The manager came by the table several times to check on everything as well which was impressive considering how busy they were. I will definitely go back!! read more

Went yesterday for dinner in evening. The food was spectacular, they have chips and salsa standard like any other Mexican place. We ordered table side guacamole quest blanco. Both were amazing. They make the guacamole table side as the name implies, it's easily enough to feed four. For entree we got fajitas and Juanita's plater which is a assortment of things. Their enchiladas were fantastic. My wife loved the fajitas, the meats were marinated really well. Since it just opened it was extremely packed so the wait was a little over an hour. Wait staff was obviously new so you could tell a bit. Trying to remember which tables were which and stuff. Found out you can call in a reservation on the fly so I recommend that. Also download their app and you can get a code for free table side guacamole. Fabulous place and a great addition to OKC. read more

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend. It was good but for the price, there are many other options for a better value. The restaurant was very loud, and food and drinks seemed over priced for quantity. Portions were very small compared to other similar themed restaurants. Staff seemed nice and prompt with service. Drinks stayed refilled. Overall good but not a place for a return visit with other restaurants that are lower priced and have more portions. Some of the loudness was due to the restaurant being new and that may settle over some time. read more

Went to the soft opening last night, and we were blown away! The food was delicious, the service was above and beyond, and the atmosphere was wonderful! Our server, Marilyn, was attentive and energetic! We got to sit right by the open kitchen, so we watched tortillas and desserts being made all night. (Try the chocolate piñata...the experience alone is worth the price!). Only two complaints about the whole experience: the food overall was wonderful, but the rice on the side didn't have much flavor, so none of our party touched it. Also, the music inside was so loud, it was hard for us to have a conversation without shouting. But not even those two things are enough to bring this place down a star--we will definitely be back (happy hour here we come!) and are looking forward to trying out more of the menu. read more

the shrimp tacos were amazing! They were the perfect amount of spice and the jicama provided a refreshing crunch that complemented the tacos very well. The ambiance is nice too and the server was super friendly read more

I came in Friday night with my husband and children. Waited 30mins to be sat which was no problem. It was pretty busy.. we sat down and everything proceeded to go down hill from there. It took our waiter khabir 10 mins to get our chips and salsa out. He forgot our drinks and we never received our large white quest. After about 20 mins a young lady brought out our food. Everything looked great expect my husband asked for double rice and no onions on his carnitas tacos. The young lady informed our waiter and told us she would have it made correctly. Our waiter took the plate out of her hands. told my husband "the tacos are good with onions you will like them" and walked away. fed up with the horrible service and Inattentiveness I asked to speak with a manager. The manager never came to speak with us and our server informed us that management was very busy but we could call the store with any concerns. I defiantly will not be back. read more

We had a wonderful experience until it came to pay the bill. The new auto paid system was too difficult to split a check split an appetizer and then pay between several people at the table. We have to deal with computerized and automated things all day at work we do not want to do that at dinner read more

We meet some friends for dinner. Food was good but service was awful. After 5 minutes of waiting at our table we had to find someone to take our order. Our tickets were not correct. My friend and I went into the women's bath room and an employee was sitting on the floor on her phone. When my friend said something to her about how dirty the bathroom was the employee smiled got up and walked out. I would not recommend this place read more

We were very disappointed today. It was our second visit, and we had reservations for 8. We were seated promptly. Waiter took drink orders, and they came reasonably fast. However, when we placed our dinner orders, we were informed that they were out of fish, so no fish and chips. Then, one person in our party requested a side of mayonnaise and was told it was unavailable, but after our insistence that they must have some as they had BLTs with mayo on the menu, agreed that the request could be filled. When the orders came out only 4 people at our table were served, and the other 4 dinners didn't come out until the first four were half finished. The side of mayo seemed to be a problem and finally came to the table after several reminders and the sliders were lukewarm. One person ordered beer battered fries as the side, but got steak fries instead, however they were replaced by the correct fries. The music is too loud to carry on a conversation without shouting. The beer and food were good, but after the poor service, we won't be back. There are too many other choices of good restaurants in the area. read more

Best location. Best food. Best drinks. Great service. Great patio. Nothing bad at this restaurant. Soft opening was amazing and went again today and had no complaints. The patio is amazing and wished we could just sit out there all night. read more

Well it's July 18th , 2019 a Thursday night. The reason why the date is important is because I wasn't able to get the managers name for that night, he plays an important part of just how terrible the evening went. A party of 9 people were sitting on the patio with chips and salsa and all of the sudden the roof of the patio starts falling in our food. So we ask to move to a different table, the manager now enters and makes us feel like it was our fault for complaining, that it's our fault we would like a new table and it's our fault for basically making a huge inconvenience for him . Seriously?!? Then doesn't help the waitress, we get moved to a dirty table, no new chips and salsa, and no water. It continues to descend into the ridiculous from there. Our friend were told they couldn't split their meal, or they would be charged an extra $12 for the chips and salsa that arrived WITH the meal, we were told we could order food OR get a new batch of chips but not both..... because it would delay the order, Seriously?!?!?!. To close out the night we waited about 30 min to get our bill and then another 30 min to gets our credit cards back. So basically this was an embarrassing night for uncle Julio's. We talked our friends into going because we used to live in Dallas and always had an amazing experience, so naturally we thought the wonderful experience would continue here in Oklahoma. WOW! This branch is an epic fail. We were treated so poorly from beginning to end. We have going to to Uncle Julio's since 1997!! read more

First time there with a party of 5. Had reservations and we were seated promptly. Waiter was exceptional. Service was great. Chips and water were never empty. We even asked for other salsas and they were brought promptly. Salsa was house made and delicious. Heat level was a 7 on a 10 scale. Food is why I gave a 2 star rating. I ordered the cheese and onion enchiladas. First the corn tortillas were very thick and hard to cut. Inside was shredded chicken. I ate half of one before I realized it was chicken because it was such a miniscule amount. I did not want to return it because the other members of our party were halfway with their meal and we had an event to go to. My tablemate ordered the beef quesadilla. He said the tortilla was very thick and the beef was not a acceptable amount. The rice and beans were served with my meal. Rice was standard rice and the beans very good. I will say both were what I would call child portion size. Meal was way overpriced for what we got. Will we return, probably not. Way better Mexican in Oklahoma City. read more

This restaurant was disappointing in several ways. First we had to be extremely careful walking through the restaurant as the floors were dangerously slick. It took a really long time for the server to take our order. He brought our drinks and mine was overfull and spilled on the table so I asked for some napkins. He never brought them. When our food arrived, after a very long wait, my dinner was not what I ordered, but I wondered at first if I had said the wrong thing. I looked at a menu and the mistake was not mine. My husband got a salad with no dressing and they neglected to bring his appetizer. I pointed out the error in my dinner and the server asked what I wanted him to do. He did offer to bring another dinner but we had waited long enough. I asked for tortillas and had to ask twice to get butter. In the end my incorrect meal was taken of the bill, but the experience was not good and we won't be back. read more

Worst food I've had in Oklahoma. Server did try to make our experience better at first..but the food was bad. Please hire real chefs with better palates to make your recipes. Restaurant was already showing signs of wear...patio was filthy. Guacamole served on plate tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. The beans were bad..tasted like they came from a can as well. The sauces on the plates were the worst part...they were not even close to authentic mexican flavors. They were kind enough to bring me a different dish that was a bit better but not much. For 45 bucks for 2 horrible plates..we will not return nor will we recommend to friends. The waitress even suggested that she could bring a chef's coat for my husband and he could go back and teach them how to cook. Yes I have culinary training..but I'd eat my husbands mex food over that crap any day. Very rude comment from server...two managers spoke with us and we very kindly, after being asked how we liked the food...explained to them why we were unhappy...no offer to comp ticket..not that we were asking for that but it should have been taken care of. read more

Very disappointed in the service. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and decided to go there because we had heard it was amazing. We usually don't get appetizers at a Mexican restaurant but they only offer a small bowl of salsa so we decided to get the queso and guacamole. We wait for quite a while and the waiter comments on the fact they hadn't brought it out yet. Finally a server comes and drops off a single bowl of white queso with chili on it. We told him that was not ours but he still placed it on our table and walked away. Our waiter came over and we told him they brought the wrong thing. He says he will put it in again. Our food comes and after we eat half of it he brings out an order of guacamole, still no queso. I decide to go ahead and eat the guacamole meantime he never takes the wrong white chili queso off the table. Here comes the check and I'm thinking they'll make it right and take the queso off the order since they never brought it! Nope, so I ask the waiter to take it off the check and only charge us for the quac, so then he pointed to the wrong queso and say so you didn't want this. I said no I wanted what I ordered. Then several of them grouped together for quite a while I guess trying to figure out how to take it off the check. The waiter returned and apologized but the manager never came over. We paid and left. My food was ok but my husband said his quesadillas weren't that great. I'm thinking the staff and management need a lot more training. Maybe get a table at Teds and watch how they make a busy restaurant look like a symphony. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday for a late lunch. We had heard that you needed reservations for this place and we are really glad that we got them. My wife called before and they said that the wait was 45 minutes. We lived about 20 minutes away so we got a reservation for 2:30 and surprisingly we were sat immediately. The restaurant itself is amazing. Really open and rustic and they have a fantastic patio as well. We were greeted fairly quickly by our waitress and we ordered the queso and guacamole sampler. Next time I'll just do the large guacamole because it was really good. Queso was decent. Their salsa is a roasted warm salsa and it has a great Smokey flavor but lacks on anything else. We both ordered the jaunitas platter I believe and it came with 2 enchiladas, 1 tamale and a taco. The beef enchilada with their queso was pretty good and gooey. The chicken was just so so and the tamale had their New Mexico red sauce which was extremely spicy but I liked that part. However the taste was way to acidic and ketchupy. All in all it was just a decent meal and would probably go back and try something else next time. However, I do not think that this was a 65 dollar meal for three. read more

Our party of 14 was quickly seated on the patio. There were two tables pushed together which was fine BUT one of the tables was broken. So badly that it pitched completely towards those sitting on the other side. We told the server who brought the salsa and he said we needed to tell our server. She came over, raised her eyebrows and had no clue what to do. My grandson lifted the table and attempted to fix the leg. No one offered to fix the table or seat us elsewhere. A manager never came to our table. We wanted a very long time for our food to be served.... we were there almost 2 1/2 hrs.to finish our meal. When our food was served it was cold and soggy. The cheese in my quesadilla was hard it was so cold. Ordered the chocolate ball for a bday celebration. It took another 30 minutes. I wouldn't give that a great review either. Very few strawberries inside ... but the bday girl was excited to finally get it. I have to say I would never eat there again. All plates had lots of food left to throw away. We just couldn't eat it. Plenty of chips (which was the best part of the meal ... salsa not so much) but we couldn't get our glasses to stay full. She did bring them out but only after the glasses had been empty for quite sometime. There were 14 of us ... it was a busy Friday night ....but I would think they could easily handle a party of that size. Thirteenth birthday celebration that just did not live up to expectations. I think the server should have had a manager come over...started rough and ended worse. Just my opinion. read more

The only reason I am giving this a 2 is because the previous times I have dined here were good for most part. Saturday May 19th we went for lunch at around 11.20am. When we walked in there were 5 girls all chatting around their greeting station. Not a single one said hello or acknowledged us until we asked if we could sit in the bar area to eat. One of them said yes , open seating so we went in and sit down. Once again they were not very busy and a lot of employees talking and wandering around. Not once did any of the employees acknowledge us and after 10 minutes we walked out. We went to Ted's up the street and the service was outstanding in every aspect. For the management team at UJ, the great location and food will not overcome such poor service and the fact it was every department probably means the expectation for customer experience is not part of the culture. Hope you can make some changes as I have no desire to return. read more

Have tasted better fish tacos here in OKC. Beans were good. Thought the meal, all together, was pricey. What I really found disturbing was the lack of attention given to the design of the entry way to the restaurant - it does not accommodate people that are elderly or disabled. There is only one drop off for these people, which abuts a small parking area where two handicap parking spaces are situated. This may create a problem when attempting to drop off people with cars entering and exiting the parking lot. A suggestion would be to eliminate most of the parking spaces in this area, making a circle drive and adding a valet service. The distance from the drop off point to the entry way is ridiculous. A suggestion would be to add handicap parking spots at the very front, adding another sidewalk across the knoll, to at least accommodate more elderly and people with disabilities. I am really surprised that in today's society that we have not made more efforts in the design and construction of facilities that take into consideration the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities. read more

I will never come back. It was my first visit and highly disappointed. Service was horrible so was the food. Our server took our order (table of 5) another server delivered our entrees and told us the last two entrees would be right out following the others. 6 minutes later our original server comes over to check on us and doesn't even notice the two missing entrees and walks away. Comes back within 5 minutes and asked us if we were ready for our check. So first I'm upset because there are two missing entrees still and second felt rushed the entire time to hurry up and tab out. It was my little sisters birthday dinner. I told the waiter we never got the two entrees he opened his book to look at the paper he wrote our food on and reads off two completely different entrees. I'm shocked because one he just took our order not too long ago, he's now forgotten about two of them and now doesn't even remember what we got while looking at the paper. He apologizes then says he would get out two meals comped. In the mean time I ask for a refill on my unsweet tea he takes the pitcher and fills my cup up with no ice at all. Doesn't say a thing. So I have room temper tea to drink... yummy. May I also add they were not busy at all or I would have some sympathy. We finally get our food. Tasted bland and it wasn't hot. The server came with our check and never comps our two entrees he forgot about. I worked in the service industry for over 8 years so of course I'm hesitant to bring it up. I didn't want our table to look like we wanted free food but I couldn't not say anything due to the service we were getting. Our server looked at us oddly then goes oh no the comp can't happen now sorry.... so we paid the full amount and went on with our evening and left. I get it's hard to find good servers and get a good flow of a restaurant especially it being new but those two simple things like putting ice in a cup before a drink refill and making sure everyone has their food is not rocket science. Best of luck to this restaurant. read more

long wait time to be seated. understaffed wait staff. food is over priced, very over priced!!!!!! the food is not worth the wait nor the price!!!! and be careful, they will charge you for food you never received! (it's for the bigger tip expected!)and then, say they credited your account when in fact, that never happened. the credit was probably put in the waiters own pocket. my only recommendation, do not spend your time or money here, not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
