We had a thirty minute wait.this wasn't so bad until we were seated. Tables were so close that my neighbor missed his face and wiped mine. The menu was limited, and pricey $$$. The food was very good. I liked the Fresh guacamole, but again $$$. The wait staff were friendly, and professional. All in all, a good expierance. read more

My first experience with Uncle Julio's was less than satisfactory. We arrived for a late lunch (1:15) and we were seated right away. It took 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. They do not have a gluten free menu and they cook the tortilla chips in the same oil as the flower tortillas. So my niece was unable to have any salsa unless she used a spoon. The chips we did get were greasy. We watched as table after table that were seated after us received their meals before us. When our fajitas finally came they were just so so. Several times we asked for sweetener to go with our tea and it did arrive after we had finished our meal. We will wait a few months and try it again but my hopes are not high. read more

Because it's delicious and there is very good service, fresh food, agood attitudes, quick food delivery, great atmosphere

We got the chips and guacamole and we ate it all we ate to much of the appetizer so we did not eat much of the food. The shrimps were spicy and really good. And the fresh mangos were the best in my opinion. It was really good. Excellent atmosphere and service too! We will come back soon in the future. read more

The food was pretty good but everything there was definitely overpriced for what you received. We went to dinner at the bar and the drinks were $12 or more for simple drinks. Maybe if they were specialty drinks?!? So many other wonderful choices in town. read more

Food was good, reminded me of Pappasitos in Dallas.. service was slow, probably due to the place being packed.

Best Mexican in town . Went here with my family when we lived in Texas, and where thrilled to see one open in okc!!!

Double check their math on tip percentages for split checks. They do their calculation based on the entire check rather than your portion.

Food was great! Our waitress wastrels did a good job. We called ahead and got right in.

Courtney was such a good server & the food was great. Definitely recommend, but ask for her! She made our experience 10x better.

Very good first experience. Food was good and our server Rico was excellent. We had Guadalajara fajitas and the shrimp was very well done.

Too expensive. 80.00 for 2 with no alcohol purchased. -! I wont be returning to this restaurant. Too many other options out there.

We had an excellent evening here. Called in this morning at 930 and made a reservation for 730. Our table was not ready when we arrive but we did not have to wait long. Upon seating our server Kevin greeted us in a timely and fun manor, Jeremy the manager came over apologized that our table wasn't ready and offers us a free appetizer. We ordered the guacamole and queso duo, it was great, perfect for a small group. Kevin went over all the drink options and made a recommendation for the fresh marg of the day.. so tasty. Next we ordered fajitas, one Al Pastor Shrimp and one Aho tuna, both were fresh and very good. Jeremy came back by to make sure we were happy. We ended our meal without desert this time but the selections seems amazing! We will be back. I will say this MAKE A RESERVATION read more

We were very excited when we heard Uncle Julio's was coming to the Okc/Edmond area, as we have been to the restaurant in Austin, TX. Other than having to wait, even with a reservation, we would definitely rate Uncle Julio's best in OKC. Table side guacamole, salsa, fajitas and drinks were all very delicious. Service was outstanding even with them being incredibly busy. We would highly recommend!! We will definitely be frequenting Uncle Julio's. read more

The food was amazing, full of flavor. The pinata dessert was also very good and big enough for the whole family to share. However, the service was some of the worst we've ever had. We started the evening on the patio and due to chilly temperatures, moved inside for dessert. The wait staff was rude and inattentive in both places. I'm willing to give it one more shot but if we get bad service again, we won't be back. read more

This place has some of the best Mexican food, I have ever had. The portions of food you get are outstanding the food taste is incredible. It's a little pricey but its definitely worth it if you ever get the chance to go. read more

I don't know why this place has so many mediocre reviews. I went to Uncle Julio's on Sunday for my birthday, and it was great! I loved the complimentary salsa, because it was very different than other Mexican restaurants that I've been to. Their table-side guac was to die for, and the rice was super yummy! My fish tacos were just okay to me, but I was also getting pretty full at this point. We decided to get the chocolate lovers chocolate piñata and lemme tell ya--that thing is amazing! Not only was the presentation outstanding, but the dessert was mouth watering as well. They even wrote "Happy Birthday Olivia" underneath the piñata and they didn't seem annoyed at all by the fact that I was having a hard time busting the piñata open. 10/10 would recommend, especially for a special event. The chocolate piñata is a must-try! Our service was great. Fun location as well. My nephews and niece went and played on the little playground by it afterwards. read more

Uncle Julio's - Tex-Mex Near Me - Oklahoma, Oklahoma

I don't see what all the rage is about. Came for a date night with my husband and neither of us really enjoyed it. Tortillas say "homemade" on the menu and on the container they come in but there's no way that they are. They seemed like mission tortillas from the store that they microwaved. Free salsa didn't taste fresh to me. Tableside guac was tasty but I wish there had been more communication about what we wanted and didn't want. (Could have used wayyyy less tomatoes for our taste) Taco salad was subpar at best. Chocolate piñata was good. The best part of our meal was probably the sangria swirls. Our server was friendly, but the place was insanely busy for a Thursday and it took over 2 hours to get in and out. We might come back to sit at the bar and have a swirl, but I doubt we would eat there again, especially for the price. read more

It was good, but a bit overpriced. Long wait which is expected for a new restaurant. The food was fine, not excellent. Great location and view. read more

Had the steak fajitas and they were cooked perfect. Tortillas are soft and perfect. The salsa is a little different git very good. Had a margarita with had a shit of teuila in it. That had an odd taste. Not sure I am a fan of that particular tequila. Everything else was delicious! read more

I must say I was a little disappointed. My husband and I went for lunch right after they opened.!it was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. Service was ok but the food was very disappointing. Might give them another try. Maybe it had something to do with how new they were. read more

Food is okay. Pretty bland and not adventurous. Meat doesnt really have any seasoning. definitely not worth the price. Service both times I went there the service was less than good. Both times they seemed to ignore our needs to cater to the people in suits and ties that were around us. disappointing and will most likely never be back. read more

Love, love, love this place. Table side guacamole, great drinks, amazing food and a fun atmosphere. Get a reservation! It is always packed. The Jalisco Fajitas are our favorite so far. We are big Ted's Cafe fans and this is the first Tex mex restaurant in Edmond that gives them a real run for their money. We have been back several times. read more

This was my second time to Uncle Julio's and I was again impressed with the service. The restaurant was very busy, thank goodness we had reservations, but we had two small children with us and we also celebrated a birthday. The food was hot, fresh and tasty (I loved the tamales) and the tableside guac was wonderful. The service was excellent! We topped off the evening with the chocolate pinata which was a hit. I love the freshness of the food at Uncle Julio's and will be back. read more

This was my first trip to Uncle Julio's. I thought the service was very good, and the food was excellent. My only complaint, was my side order of beans that came with the meal hardly had any beans. Other than that, I was very pleased. The blanco queso was delicious as well as the guacamole. My main course was enchiladas and a tamale. All were very good. read more

Waitress was doing the best she could. No manager anywhere to be found. Food was not good. When filling out water glasses the guy spilled water in our chips then later in our friends meal. Drink was served with completely flat and no syrup Diet Coke. Other drink was incorrect and tasted terrible. And the bartender got an attitude about taking our drinks back. Oh and we had to go back to the bar ourselves. Should've thrown $100 in the water next to the restaurant. Very disappointed. We understand covid and being short staffed, but a manager walking around would have been nice. read more

They are great with service and the quest and food was amazing it didn't seem like much but when I ate there it was an amazing experience they are very kind and caring to customers they take care of you and make sure you have a great time read more

Service was very slow and below par for the price of the food. We had ordered the $30 chocolate piñata at the beginning of our meal and had to wait 20 minutes after our plates were removed to get it. Ridiculous. I ordered $15 tuna tacos and there were a total of 5 tiny slivers of fish on the tacos total. Won't be back. Too many other options in town! read more

I know a lot of people speak highly of Uncle Julios, but frankly I didn't think it lived up to the hype. Nice place, but too loud. The music played so loudly we at our table could hardly speak with one another. The beef enchiladas were so spicy. I was up most of the night chewing tums. The menu did not mention heat at all. Most at our table liked the roasted salsa, but my wife and I were not huge fans. We prefer fresh salsa. The quest was very good, however. The guacamole made at the table was good, but needed a little salt and lime in my opinion. All in all, what made dinner special were the friends we were with. The restaurant was almost a hindrance. Maybe it was an off night for me?? You know, it's hard to beat our stand by local favorite, and Uncle Julio's was worth the experience, but we will pass on them in the future. read more

Co workers wanted to try out this new Uncle Julio and try to make reservations for party of 8-9. Whoever answered the phone didn't bother to look to see if there was any spot open for 6pm. He laughed when asked for rsvp of 8. What the hell kind of service is this?! We haven't eaten there yet and we definitely are not going there for any occasion! Poor service! read more

Excellent in every aspect - food, service, and atmosphere! Great birthday dinner! Table side guacamole was a huge portion, and entree was big enough to share. Will definitely go back ASAP!!! read more

During a short vacation we got lucky enough to find this place, I believe it was the first or second day they were open! We sat in the patio area and asked for some recommendations since there weren't many reviews of the place yet.. Jocelyn was our server and she recommended the fajitas which were absolutely fantastic! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Her knowledge of the food was great and she had a wonderful attitude with everyone around us.. 10/10 will be here again!!! read more

The wait was 45 minutes. The wait staff didn't understand the menu. They ordered the wrong drink and instead of making the correct drink they made an argument to accept the wrong drink at a higher price. The AC blew on the table so hard that it was like sitting in their cooler. I'm pretty easy. The floor was so greasy that it felt like ice skating. This was a fatiguing experience for average food. read more

This place never disappoints. We make the drive from weatherford at least once every few weeks and we always have to get the chocolate piñata! read more

Two times our family has tried to eat at this restaurant. The first time we tried to visit, I called to get a reservation and was told, by a very snooty girl, a party of 9 would need to be at the restaurant by 4:45 or 5:00 pm to be seated and the next reservation spot was not available until 9:00 pm. The second time we tried to visit, we showed up before 5 and was told we could not be seated until 9 meanwhile there was obvious room and large tables able to accommodate a large party. All of this is very disappointing as we have been excited to try this place. We drove all the way from Norman with two small children at the time that was suggested. I will never attempt to try this restaurant again and will be sure to let families know this restaurant will not easily accommodate large parties. read more

We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation. It took us about ten minutes to be seated. Not terrible but not great. Then we waited at the table for 15 minutes before our chips and salsa came. Our children ordered kids fajitas. To our surprise, kids fajitas aren't fajitas at all. It was literally strips of grilled chicken. No cheese. No pico. No sour cream. No guac. I'm a bit surprised we got tortillas honestly. We inquired if their food was supposed to come with any of the above and we were told no. So that was disappointing and the kids were very disappointed. Then after being out of water for ten minutes, we finally got our server to get refills. We figured that due to covid they would just bring new cups. Nope! She took the lids off the kids cups and laid them in the table. And to top it all off, we learned that the chocolate piñata was not available. Which was the reason we came in the first place as it was my daughters bday. But we were told we could buy a sopapilla for six dollars lol. No thanks. I'm going to be honest. This was the second time I've been to Uncle Julios. My first experience was much like the second visit above. Decent food. Very over priced (more than double what a normal mexican food bill is) and extremely bad service. Needless to say, we have no intention of going back. Oh and also the menu was extremely limited. For as much as they charge, the service should be top notch. Sadly, the service is better at a dine in fast food restaurant. read more

Busy busy Saturday but worth the wait. The margaritas are awesome, queso awesome, food awesome, and Edgar our server, awesome. This place hustles and is super busy. Reservations can help with wait times, but nice place to eat and our son insisted I give five stars. His quesadilla was awesome too. FIVE stars!!!!! read more

Have been looking forward to this place to open and was not disappointed! Very good margaritas. The guacamole made at our table side was probably the best I've ever had. We sat at the bar and had a great experience! The bartender was awesome and the drinks were incredible. Highly recommend any of their margaritas. I enjoy the food and service here. I do think they are a little on the pricey side for what you get. Nice place for a special occasion dinner, but it's not a place I would frequent. read more
