Just opened this week and well worth the line! Had the fajita skirt steak lunch special. Steak was so juicy!!! Hubby had the carnita fajita. Had a little sweetness to it but was delicious. Salsa is from in house roasted veggies. Fabulous smoky tone! Think we just found our new favorite for fresh mex. Recommend calling ahead for reservations or wait for a seat at the bar. read more

First time customer, had high expectations for the patio and the wait time wasn't bad. However, soon as I paid my bar tab while waiting a different waiter brought my card back which felt uncomfortable. Had to send both meals back and the waiter didn't bring food out so he didn't know that it was messed up to begin with. Probably dealt with five different people while being served. Didn't know who to ask for any service. It took over 20 minutes for a lukewarm beer to arrive. Lots of water refills but never gave ice. Probably won't return anytime soon. read more

Good food, we enjoyed the chicken fajitas. Great seasoning on the meat. Plenty of extras to complete the set up. Also shared a chocolate piñata with our group. Fun and tasty! About the right size for our party of 7. Service was attentive and friendly. read more

Uncle Julio's - Three words: TABLE SIDE GUACAMOLE - Tex-Mex Near Me - Oklahoma, Oklahoma

Arrived around 2:30 on Sat 7/21 w party of 4. Were quickly seated and that was the last quick anything. Started grumbling after around 10 minutes but server showed up w chips and took drink order. Drinks came, chips were eaten. Drinks were drunk, chips refilled. Decent waitstaff but where was food? Another couple came in, had drinks, ate and asked for box. At this point waiter said food coming shortly. After an hour, called waiter over. He says kitchen taking a long time all day but will check. Goes to talk to manager who goes w him to station and then appears to go to kitchen. However, neither return to table. Several minutes pass and waiter says he doesn't know the problem - he can't go into kitchen. I said, well it's been over an hour, maybe we'll just pay for drinks and go. He goes to see manager and comes back saying no need to pay but no update on food and no manager, so.. we left. Chips and salsa 3.5, margarita 3.5, waiter 3, management 0. read more

Uncle Julio's is great! Their food tastes wonderful, a lot better than I was expecting. Presentation of the food was great, and their service speed was acceptable. The ambiance was great, I met up with some friends and had a good time. Definitely recommend Uncle Julio's. read more

We are finally getting to visit our son and his family in Mustang after 2 long years of COVID and living in a bubble. We went to Uncle Julio's and I have to say it was the best Mexican food I've ever had. Everyone's plates looked so good from the fajita bowl to the carne asada fajitas. Plus the excellent service we received from Jeraldo made it the perfect birthday celebration. He gets a 10+ for his attentiveness, friendliness and attention to detail. THANK YOU FOR THE PERFECT EVENING! We live in St. Louis but it will be on my list of restaurants next time I fly in. read more

Long wait to get in, really slow service, and about twice the price of most other great Mexican food places in town. We saw several people turn in their buzzers after long waits to be seated, choosing to go elsewhere. We should have followed their lead. The salsa has a unique flavor - not bad, but not what we are used to for salsa - and they are somewhat stingy with it. While we were there someone dropped large platters of dishes three times. The people at the table next to us complained about how long it was taking to get their food. Their table was visited by a string of waiters and managers who apologized repeatedly. Finally a manager came out with their food and said he personally intervened to bring out their order. We had waited patiently for so long that our kids had gone to sleep. I asked the same manager if we needed to complain to get our food, too. He apologized, went after our food, and promised to adjust our check. Eventually our food was delivered. The check was not adjusted. Hmmm... Considering the many great Mexican food places in town, we felt the food was about average - certainly not worth the frustration, long waits, crashing dishes, and premium prices. Was this a terribly "off" day, or is this the way this place is normally operated. We will never know, since it was our first and last visit. read more

The atmosphere and the drinks were worth the wait. The fresh guacamole made at the table was the icing on top.

So I ordered the Camarones Diablo. My wife ordered the "steak fajita" soft taco plate. My shrimp were medium-sized at best. I sent it back. What a joke! $24 for 6 medium-sized shrimp.? Not today! I didn't take a pic of my "shrimp", but here's a pic of her "fajita steak" soft tacos. The tacos she got was hamburger, not steak The waiter Keaton, however, was exceptional. We tipped him well. Outstanding service. The food is terribly overpriced for what you get. read more

I gave it two stars for the service. The server was great. The food, however was cheap and simple and not in a good way. I got chicken fajita quesadillas for $17! and it was nothing but some cheese and scant un-tasty chicken in a meh tortilla. There was sour cream and guacamole on the side But they couldn't make up for the lack of taste. You get a better quesadilla from those cheap Mexican restaurants with weird soup like queso. My wife asked for a side of ranch and got charged $2.19! This was the third time going there and it just isn't nearly good enough to justify the prices. Will not be going back again. read more

service was horrible. the management is no where to be found. the staff is wandering around like they are lost. no one engaging with the customers. impossible to get a drink at the bar. and the restaurant was not full. it was not an understaffing issue. food was good, but the rest was not. won't be back. read more

Wow, this place does impress and my family will be back! Parking lot is jammed full, but it didn't tale long for my wife and I to get food. We first went over to the bar to drink a recommended by the bartender, El Hef margarita-whoa! Deliciously hot (spicy) and strong, just the way we like them! We then were seated at a table for two in the bar area and, while it was a decent location, the acoustic was weird. A lady a couple two-seater table away could be heard in our ears like she was sitting right there with us, whispering in our ears. We figured out that her voice was hitting the arched brick above and traveling over to us. Not a huge issue, but we won't sit there again-very odd. Get the table side guacamole. It was prepared beside our table and very fresh and tasty. The chips are quite tasty as was the queso-actually addicting. The salsa not so great-we didn't like the smokey flavor. The enchiladas were average as was the rice and tiny bowl of smokey flavored beans. No complimentary sopapillas and desserts are pretty expensive. The margaritas are expensive, too, but the el hef was so delicious and strong that we'll be back just for a drink, chips, quest and guac, and some festive ambience. The server was average as were the hostesses in demeanor and appearance. If I ran the place, I'd hire very sharp looking and acting servers and hostesses. Hostesses make the first impression, which is really important. Julio's can afford to do this! We've been talking Julio's up around town-the margaritas, ambience and cool location . Looking forward to our next El Hef's! Great experience. read more

The raspberry margarita was delicious! The chick and steak fajitas were delicious, il go back for sure!!

UPDATE: I ended up waiting until 7:28 for my order to come out, which is unacceptable given the fact that I placed my order online at 5:54pm for a 7pm pick up. The food was as good as I remembered the one in Atlanta being, so that upped the stars on this review from 2 to 3. However, we ordered (and paid for) 12 each corn and flour tortillas and in their "rush" to get the order to me, they only gave us 8 of each. I do appreciate management's response, and we might come in and sit down for a meal one day, but we'll never utilize the online ordering again. ************** Don't bother ordering online! I placed an order and requested a 7pm pickup. It's 7:22 and I'm still waiting! Will update if/when we actually get our order! read more

I honestly should've complained to the manager but I just kept thinking "everyone has bad days"... but it took almost 10 minutes for me to be greeted, and I never send food back but I had to ask for fresh chips because mine were so stale and cold it was like they came out of a dirty metal container. My waitress was not unkind, she was very respectful, but it was like she was half asleep or something. She repeated back my order to me and yet still brought me the wrong appetizer, and didn't even give me silver wear for my meal so I had to wait for her to circle back while my food was getting cold so I could ask for it.... I would understand this type of service had she been slammed or in charge of a large party, but I was a table of one and the restaurant was almost dead. Everyone has bad days though, not her fault the food was trash. Halfway through eating, the table next to me had to send their meal back because the gentleman found GLASS in his food. I was too afraid to continue eating after that honestly. The only thing I took to-go was a cardboard taco. The only reason I'm leaving this review however, is the cardboard taco went straight in the trash after I got home because I've only been back home a few hours and I am sick to my stomach. I'm thinking this restaurant is going through some hard times, I hope to see them turn it around and match the quality of the DFW locations soon so I can continue to give them my business. Hopefully I didn't unknowingly eat glass. UPDATE: next morning and I have food poisoning, been up all night sick and have not eaten since Uncle Julio's. Do not go here. :( read more

Probably should not admit this, but we had this place twice in one week. The first time we went, we got take out and the second time we set a reservation (if you don't, prepare to wait hours). We love the locations in Dallas. Here are my recommendations: Tres amigos margarita- it has an extra shot of tequila and is delicious. Patron margarita Bacon wrapped camarones Honey chipotle salmon Agave quest chicken Lobster fajita chicken and steak All of these dishes are amazing. My husband is not a fajita fan, but was obsessed with the beef that came with the lobster fajitas. I'm sure we will be regulars! read more

Best Mexican food in town, no contest. Where do I start? This place is very busy, and rightly so- so I highly recommend making a reservation, though it's worth the wait. We were seated on the patio and it was gorgeous! We ordered the table side guacamole and it was incredibly fresh and very yummy, would order again. My friends ordered the Guadalajara to split between the both of them, and I ordered the beef enchiladas w green sauce. Everything was outstanding! The shrimp my friends ordered was huge, steak seared perfectly, and again very fresh. The enchiladas did not disappoint as a staple Mexican dish they were executed better than I expected. (We also had some pretty bomb margaritas that made us very enthused about our food as well) lastly we ordered the chocolate piñata. Yes. We did that. It was honestly amazing. Overall 10/10. read more

Uncle Julio's was PACKED yesterday evening. I had a reservation. The wait wasn't bad at all, maybe a 15-minute wait. We were seated at the patio, so we had nice views of the pond and fountains. The chips and salsa were mild and pretty good. For dinner, I just had the traditional soft taco platter. All were good. The Swirl is a must! Such a delicious drink. The house margarita was also very good. The ambience and environment here are very fun. I'll definitely be back. read more

Me and my daughter came here after hearing so many people talking about how good it was. It started off well. We sat at the bar and ordered since the dining was busy. The food came quick, but my daughters order wasn't right. They compensated and brought her the right order and gave the wrong order for free. The couple next to me had the wrong order brought to them twice. They accepted it the second time, but were disappointed that it wasn't right. My meal was good. I had the grilled fish tacos. Toward my last night, there was something that didnt belong. I'm not sure what it was but it was not fish. It had a burned taste to it. I spit it out. The atmosphere is nice and the bar staff was good and kept checking on everything to make sure we were good. Unfortunately, the food wasn't what I heard it was. It was good, but not worth the cost. read more

Homemade tortillas were excellent, lunch prices were too expensive. We had the beef fajitas and they were $16. Understand that for a dinner price, not for lunch. Waiter did not make it clear when we ordered guacamole, wanting it made by the table, because he brought us the premade. It was OK, but this should've been explained better. Food quality was excellent, but because of prices we may or may not return. If you have a lunch menu you should have lunch prices. read more

Uncle Julio's - Tex-Mex Near Me - Oklahoma, Oklahoma

I was excited to try Uncle Julio's and was sadly disappointed. The food was good but the service was awful. Our server was on his own time, he had no enthusiasm and our food was late. (People showing up after us got their food way sooner.) The food is a bit pricier than local competitors and the taste isn't any different. When paying a $50 tab for two, I would have expected better service. read more

The food is above average. The salsa not being cold but room temperature is weird but it's fine. We've come more than once and it feels more Mex than Tex. Try the tableside guacamole. The big chocolate pinata is great. It'll be the birthday place to go read more

Honestly, I wanted to give this restaurant more than 2 stars. The location is awesome, the restaurant itself is pretty, and the queso is amazing. But my boyfriend ordered their bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp, and the shrimp came out unclean!! For a $25 plate with 6 pieces of jumbo shrimp you'd think it would at least be clean. I understand that a restaurant that size goes through a bunch of food, and sometimes things are missed. But 3 out of 6 pieces of shrimp, uncleaned, is a bit ridiculous. It makes ya think what else is left unclean.. Also, I feel like the manager could've been a bit more concerned with the issue. She did offer to get another dish for my boyfriend, however it seemed like she really could care less about the issue. read more

Amazing food and atmosphere. It's pricey Mexican food but it is so worth it! The tres amigos margarita is so good and we've had the margarita of the day 2 times and it was delicious! I recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion. The patio is also great to enjoy the view of the pond and fountain. read more

Wow. This restaurant is really good. It was a little bit of a wait but, but so worth it. Their homemade tortillas were really good!! The food was excellent, and came out fairly quick. The girl that seated us really didn't seem very friendly, but our waitress Abby made up for it. She was awesome. Definitely a great place to eat and we will go back. It's nice to have a really good Mexican restaurant to eat at, and so close to home. read more

We tried eating here on Saturday and the wait was over two hours. So we tried early on a Sunday. There was no wait at 11:15am. The service was outstanding. The food was excellent. The guacamole we ordered that was prepared at our table was great. My wife and I ordered the beef and chicken fajitas for two. It was excellent. I had a margarita and my wife had a margarita with some wine. They were both great. We also ordered the large white cheese that came in a medium sized bowl. The only down side to our experience was the final ticket was $103 for two people. A little steep for us to make this a regular dining experience for us. However, it will be a go to for future special occasions. P.S. You can reserve seating through the app OpenTable. I would recommend that especially for a Friday or Saturday night. read more

Had to stop in on my way back to DFW! Thought I would try this new location in Oklahoma City I have dinned here at other locations.Yes this is a new place in Oklahoma City and I figured they would have hired the right people and really try to improve with the food they serve but it was just ok nothing great by far I ordered the combo fajitas with jumbo shrimp.Steak was over cooked Chicken was ok but the shrimp was over cooked it's like eating rubber no thanks. Yes They recooked some new fajita steak which came out rare but not the shrimp.I guess shrimp isn't worth correcting. Maybe next time if I return I will just order chicken fajitas as they can't seem to get it right out of kitchen. Service was great as always cause they had great waiters waitresses. read more

First of all I have to say the atmosphere was really great so if you're looking to just have a few good drinks on the patio, this is the place for you. I ordered the 3 soft fajita steak tacos. They arrived at our table less than 5 min after ordering them which was good but the meat was cold. I mean, cold. The rice was not edible. Very hard, crunchy pieces throughout it. I told the waiter and he did nothing. It was $16 for cold, soft tacos. My friends agreed that the food wasn't very good but we were impressed with the drinks. The sangria was excellent. read more

NOT Tex-mex...OKC menu is different from options you can get at UJ in Texas. With that being said, hostess situation was pretty sad. We had reservations, 30 mins past them we checked & hostess replied "we sat you".....obviously not! Ordered Cowboy Queso....so thick couldnt dip chips in with breaking all the time. Service was good....fajitas were not 'sizzling' on skillet....more like warmed in oven, Disappointed on that. The Swirl margarita was very good as was the Cajeta dessert. So-So....will go back in cooler weather to sit on patio, which is very big & nice! read more

My experience with Uncle Julio's at the start was little rocky. I called to make reservations for 16 and was quickly denied. They were not taking reservations over 8. This rule is new to me so I was bit taken back. I asked about booking two parties of 8 and request to sit near? "No Sir". Ok! (Had To Try) The second time I wanted to try Uncle Julio's, I called to make reservations for 2. Completely booked except 9pm. FML! The third time I wanted to experience Uncle Julio's I called and finally got reservations!! MAN!!! It was worth the wait. The experience is a completely different spin on Mexican food. The facility is amazing! Huge outdoor patio setting with couches and waiting area. Inside they have a huge bar where they serve up those delicious Margaritas!! This place is a well oiled machine. Down to the service and cleanliness of the bathrooms. The food is insanely good. I ordered the Agave Queso Chicken and it was amazing! The queso sauce was delicious and the drinks were on point. I will definitely be back!! I'm leaving this 4 star for now. Make it easier for people to experience you and it will be a raging 5STAR! read more

This is the fourth visit to Julio's. We really love the food! The Guadalajara Fajitas are especially great. And the salsa is tasty and fresh. The only problem we have had is the slow service overall. Tonight seemed better than it has been in the past. You absolutely must have a reservation or you will wait. It's clear there are still some inefficiencies in the bar service. It took 25 minutes from ordering cocktails to getting them to the table. This has been a consistent problem over each visit. I will say the staff seems really kind and great people. I am sure speed of service will improve as everyone works out the kinks of a new very busy restaurant. read more

Went here last night and it was a total disappointment. The food didn't take to long to come out but it was slightly cold and taste was not up to par after we finished we decided to order the churros, which is maybe 12 little bite sized churros with cold chocolate sauce. we waited maybe 20 minutes for that and it was horrible as well as cold. only people who have not had real Mexican food would waste their time here meals are also overpriced read more
