Ok I love this space and want it to do well! With that said I hope the owner reads this. We also talked to the nice manager tonight as well for a couple thoughts... The nacho's ... the chicken needs seasoning and thrown on the grill with something for flavor and WARMED UP!!!! Literally ice cold...The Cook needs kicked in the butt for serving COLD COLD chicken on top of nachos that should be hot. The flavor of the nachos was pretty bland and we ordered a little bbq sauce that we drizzled on top. Our favorite nachos in florida are pulled pork , with sour cream squeeze bottle drizzled and bbq sauce the same way! Gives it a little flavor without being over powering! Give it a try with HOT chicken and guaranteed you will have happy customers! The table beside us did not like their nachos and complained about the blandness and cold chicken. Next was the bologna sandwich. It was great. The fries were good. We also got some wings. We wanted to get 12 wings and split them getting Buffalo and garlic parm. We were not able to get two flavors on the big order which most places allow. It's not like it's hard. But instead has to order two orders of 6, and pay $4 bucks more just to get two flavors. As a business owner, this just seems crappy. Also I only ate one buffalo wing because they were really spicy for a mild. I loved the size of the wings and cooked crispy as asked but definitely more of a kick than a mild. Overall we will come back and try more stuff, I just hope they make some positive tweaks! read more

We went in for lunch on a Sunday. We sat at the bar and our service was great. We ordered the BBQ Bacon burger and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Both were delicious. Asked for ranch on the side to dip my fries in but the ranch was unexpectedly spacey, it apparently has jalapeños in it. Sweet potato fries are on option but our server said the regular fries were delicious so we gave those a try, he was right they were amazing! There was a large family there while we were dining, a party of 20, and yet the restaurant didn't seem cramped or too loud. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. What a nice surprise... This restaurant is located in the building that used to be the Horseshoe, so I was a little reluctant to go there because the Horseshoe was so bad. We gave the new place/owner a try... and it was really good. The atmosphere was great. I liked the decor. The wait was short. The waitress was AWESOME. the food was really good. We had the fried pickles and buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer, and I would recommend both. I had the graffiti burger with french fries, which was good. Wifie had the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, which she really liked. This is definitely way better than the horseshoe. It is nice to have a casual upscale restaurant in Johnstown for a change. read more

I pondered making this a 4 star review, but opted to get 3. I went with the family, I had the classic burger, the wife had the Caesar Salad, the kids had the spaghetti, and chicken tenders. My burger and fries were terrific. It was juicy, with a house burger sauce, mustard, pickle, and sautéed onions. A solid 4. The fries were crispy. The salad was a definite miss. It was advertised as a Caesar, but it was romaine lettuce, with a 4oz side of dressing, little to no Parmesan cheese, and a few bacon bits. My wife made it palatable by asking for additional cheese, and adding salt and pepper. She ordered a side of chicken, the chicken was bland and shredded, not the traditional breast. The kids tenders were ok, nothing to note. The kids spaghetti was disliked by our oldest. I tasted it, and it was delicious! A spicy pepper based sauce that would be loved by an adult, not a child. I'm giving them a pass on this. The service was good, the restroom was clean, while we didn't order beer, those that we saw served were in frosty mugs. We will go back, and make different choices next time. I'm sure the review will be better! read more

Went on night 2 of them being open. They were busy! Service was good and food was good. We had pretzel sticks, cheesy garlic bread, cheese pizza and french fries (ff were amazing). Parking lot is a shared lot and we easily found a spot. The only improvement I would like to see is a veggie burger or sandwich added to the menu. read more

Food is fantastic, but if you want to enjoy the bar on a Friday night the karaoke is brutal. Tuesday karaoke totally fine, but on a Friday absolutely unheard of. Kills the bar vibe on a Friday, if there was no karaoke I'd come here every week for the great food and beer. read more

We went on a Friday night with the family for a sit down meal as we have done here many times when it was the Horseshoe. We were told there was a 15 min wait which was fine. But after 15 min we were hustled upstairs where there were many many empty tables. The first thing the bartender says is, you'll probably have to order everything from the bar tonight. Well I came for a sit down dinner, not to order my food and drinks at the bar. This never happened with the Horseshoe. While in the forever line for my drinks (because others (also with the same complaint) had to do the same), they finally got some servers from downstairs to help the bartender. It probably took an hour to receive sub-par food. My main complaint is, if you are going to put people upstairs, tend to them!!! The bartender can't do everything himself! read more

Since we have been in johnstown 1 year, we found a great place for a beer and food. A great local place with good food and atmosphere. Try it out. It changed ownership and made good changes to service and food. read more

Stopped on Friday night. Place was very busy and they opened the upstairs for us, and others waiting. One guy busted his backside trying to cover about 5-7 groups by himself. He kept a great attitude and really did a great job considering he was taking orders, and getting drinks for all the groups that were seated at the same time and covering the upstairs bar. Can't say the situation was good. Ordered several appetizers all were good and hot. I had one of the smash burgers and fries. Food was outstanding. Fabulous burger and very good fries. I am sure there is usually better service coverage, I will go back for friendliness and food. read more

I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here the several times I've visited. You can tell the ingredients are very high quality and executed exceptionally well. The cocktails are high quality and made from actual recipes with thought put into the ingredients not some off the shelf mix. The service is very friendly and the manager takes the time to check in with guests and is genuinely interested in listening to feedback and answering any questions. The bar is very nice as well the decor and there's plenty of TVs for watching sports. Also the music is not overpowering. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

I would give lower if I could. We decided to give them another shot. Food was cold...again. Sent back sweet potatoes fries, Waited 10 mins. And never revived warm fries. Told waiter didn't want them. Got the check and didn't even get a credit for them. Shot of tequila was $28. Avoid this place. We live in Johnstown decided to give them another try after 2 months ago it was awful. Never again! Try to stay local but someone needs to take over this place.. terrible. read more

This place is great. I have always gotten seated quickly. The food is fantastic. You definitely need to try the cheesy garlic bread. I also got the berry spritz drink and it was very refreshing. Inside is clean and I look forward to taking advantage of the outdoor rooftop seating as the weather gets nicer. read more

Went as a group of 6 this week and what a great meal and experience. Danielle was our server and outstanding. She was prompt, efficient, professional, personal, and very attentive. We had a great experience at Uncle Johnnie's on a busy Saturday evening. The appetizers and food were all delicious! We did have to wait to be seated but once we were at our table we got our drinks and food quickly. The restaurant doesn't look much different than it did when it was the Horseshoe. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was friendly. Plenty of parking in the back. Had a 40 minute wait to get a table. The upstairs wasn't open yet so seating was limited. They have TVs and they were all on sports channels- when you have that type of atmosphere, the crowd tends to be louder and they stay longer, making it a longer wait time for you to get a table. Went there this even for supper. Our table had 2 different burgers, chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets. Everything was fresh and hot and arrive at the table in decent time. For a scratch made restaurant, they have a lot of premade items from GFS. Service was good for recently opened restaurant. Items we ordered that looked like premade food included Southwest Springroll appetizer, Fried chicken sandwich that was topped with American cheese and the onion rings. Uncle Jonnie's has successfully delivered a worse experience than the restaurant that just closed its doors. Their food has not improved. Their service level decreased, and we dinned on a slow night. They didn't attempt to change the restaurant's look from one owner to the next. I am glad Johnstown has another awful place not to eat. read more

My wife and I went there yesterday evening for the first time. We have lived in the Johnstown area for over 10 years and have been longing for a decent restaurant for our area. A newspaper article alerted me to this new place so we decided to give it a try. In short, it was great. Amy was our server and she was very attentive. She refilled our drinks without having to be asked and saw to our every need. I had the Graffiti Burger with onion rings and my wife had the Classic Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. We also had an order of potato skins. Both of our burgers were amazing. They were so flavorful and the buns were not overly large so we didn't feel like we were filling up on bread: perfect bun to beef ratio. My onion rings were delicious although I will admit that the serving size could have been larger. My wife's sweet potato fries were really good. Plenty of fries cooked perfectly. The potato skins were good but not great. They were not crisp enough and too little sour cream. We did not care for the dipping sauce that they came with. The GM chatted with us for a while and that made us feel welcome and very glad that we tried the place out. We heartily recommend this restaurant to everyone and will frequent it as much as possible. read more
