Overall, I thought this was a great little place to check out! it's s a little bit of a Hidden Gem

So wonderful that they were done before I could get a picture! How much can you make tenders your own? Roosters Too! manages. The tenders are lightly breaded chicken breasts that are sliced and tenderized before being battered in the same type of batter you usually see on walleye shore lunches. This made the tenders "tender" as well as having a light batter which complimented the chicken rather than overwhelms it. The bartenders were super friendly, outgoing and polite, when I came in to pick up the order. Side note: we've been there for brunch several times and their breakfasts are outstanding as well. Roosters Too! has become a go-to for us for a casual meal out.

Everything is quite impressive…read more The Wings: Hand breaded, crispier than other "crispy chicken". I've had Double Fried Korean wings less crispier. There is meat on the wings as well, barely any fat. Sauce was an option but it was unneeded as they were flavorful. The Burgers: My wife had the Bacon Supreme, rare. It was recommended to go 1/2 for rare and they were right, very flavorful, she says it is better than Newts. My burger the Honey Mustard bacon cheeseburger was terrific as well. The bun is toasted with a slight crisp, the bacon is cooked and does well with the burger. The sauce was not over abundant, which was good. It did not mask the taste of the burger nor did it need to mask a lack of taste, it was superb. Pickles are on the side and under the wrapping as to not make anything soggy. French fries, onion rings were crispy, seasoned but not over-seasoned, also flavorful. The sweet potato fries were accompanied with frosting, another unexpected but excellent pairing. All the seemingly small details in the meal bring out a brilliant "product" that goes beyond what is mass-produced. I believe we shall be frequenting Frank-n-stein's, Thank you! Long story short, the establishment and their staff is very experienced and bring all their knowledge into meals that bring many others to shame. Very well done and very impressive!

I believe it's the oldest restaurant in Minnesota, and it definitely has that historic charm. We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was a really nice experience. The place is well-kept, and the inside has lots of old photos and antiques, which add to the cool atmosphere. The service was great--everyone was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was decent. We tried the steak, lobster, salmon, and their famous onion rings. The onion rings were probably the standout, but overall, the food was just okay, especially considering the prices, which are a bit on the high side for the area. Drinks were fine, nothing too special. If you're ever near Rochester or in southern Minnesota, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. The restaurant is worth a visit for the history alone, and the town of Mantorville is super cute with nice people. It's a great little place to explore!
