Not Too Shabby…read more Second visit here for lobster night on Wednesdays this time they served sirloin steak with it for about 21 bucks. The lobsters or boiled in crab boil which I really like. The sirloin steak I ordered medium rare knowing that this type of steak is on the chewy side. This isn't my favorite cut of meat, but it isn't bad, has good flavor. My wife ordered a Tito's and tonic with a splash of cranberry and was given a 20oz cup loaded with that imitation bar cranberry. She said splash. Those onion rings are some of the best I've ever had! The bartender with the purple lipstick is probably one of the coolest people you'll meet. She's hilarious, and I love her personality. And then there's Mandy... LOL. No duh! You know she's part of what makes the place special. My counterpart ordered chicken tacos (today's special) and it took over an hour for them to be served. I ordered a burger and was charged a different price than the menu said. It is a smokey bar that is clean enough at 11:30 but nothing special. Had then been told us when we ordered it would be a while for the chicken tacos or offered a chance to order something else it would have been much appreciated. I think it will be a long time before I go back as the small things can make a bad experience better and they weren't interested in trying to make things right.

The inside has side entrances that open to the outside area. Three major gripes... The place is wheelchair accessible as far as getting on the "porch." There is a ramp for it. But when asked whether there was a ramp to actually get inside to order a drink, we were told there is none. Disappointingly enough, none of the employees came near the entrance to make ordering easier. We had masks on, they did not, so it did not make sense why none of them came closer. The bar had no other patrons. Next, I am admittedly more apprehensive about sanitation, or a lack thereof, now. I was a bit taken aback that the whole process of making drinks and taking our order was done without gloves. I would not have cared had the bartender simply made drinks but squeezing the lemon and dropping it in the drink with her bare hands rattled my spirit. I don't know--maybe I'm being too anal. I just think proper hand washing or sanitation is more important than ever during COVID. Third, my friend was sure his Crown Apple was mixed with something else. We drink it enough to know. LOL. On this point, I will not say with 100% certainty it was diluted or mixed, but he was certain it was. Overall, I do not think this bar is terrible. It's a typical Metairie bar that sits in the middle of the suburbs. I also do not think it's unwise to stop in for a drink or to hang out. These are just my complaints.

I went to Tchoup Yard's outdoor bar on September 11 and ordered two beers. My bartender kept my…read morecard on file after my first order. When I asked for the check, I specifically told him I would be paying in cash. He returned with my card and a receipt, and I handed him $20 for my $16.01 tab. Unfortunately, he also ran my card, meaning I paid $36.01 for two beers. Mistakes happen. How a business handles them is what matters. After noticing the charge, I called Tchoup Yard several times. No one answered. I stopped by after work to speak with the manager, Heather, but she wasn't there. An inside bartender called her, and she asked me to email her. I did so on September 17. She responded on September 18 asking when I had visited. I replied with the details, then followed up on September 21 and again on September 24. And then? Crickets. After making multiple attempts to resolve this directly with the business, I was left with no choice but to file a fraud claim with Wells Fargo. The accidental double payment was frustrating. The complete lack of follow-through and communication afterward was worse. I made every effort to give Tchoup Yard the opportunity to correct the issue, and they failed to do so. I won't be returning, and based on this experience, I can't recommend supporting this business. Two beers shouldn't come with this much hassle.
